decided as we were playing a fellow spl team that i'd be best to put out a strong team and that team did the buisness

Barzola, hutton, lukovic
no distractions from the leauge for a while so will be playing my strongest side for a while but that doesnt guarrentee a easy win

an easy enough win as the back up players and the youth players combined to win this match easily

another easy game but could be doing with giving more youngsers the chance

brillaint fightback by dundee utd to secure a point here, we didnt play well after going 3-1 up but dundee utd came storming back



december month review
A poor month for the spl but its totally excusable with reaching the last 16 of the europa leauge. Wont be able to start many youth players tonight due to falling a bit behind celtic in the leauge

A month packed with goals and fantastic individual performances, eased through all cup and leauge games and were now right on celtics tails

The squad shrunk quite a bit during january Barrett was only with us because he was brought up at pittodrie so a £2m offer for him was jumped on. As was an offer for my best forward Barzola £10m for a player who'd never really settled in scotland was also a £5m profit. Glenn Whelan at 30 was sholding up other players development so tryed selling him for more but £3.5m was the best offer i got so unfortuanatly he's off to celtic. Hamid and Karanovic werent developing fast enough so they were ofloaded while Cross and Innes werent progressing at all so were freed.
The only new players coming in being young defenders Laya, Krstic and McNally and attacking midfielder Tounkara also for the under 18's

Q Why after making the last 16 of Europes top compitition have you sold two of the teams best players?
A My hand wasnt forced here! I decided when i got a £10m offer for Barzola it couldnt be turned down for a squad player! In whelans case he is now into his 30's and was holding up development of some youngsters who im confident can step up.

Q Does the following transfer window show your current philosophy on transfers
A Its how i have to the funds are there for star players but at the momment our income is far short of what is needed to compeate on that level so we have to try breeding our own players untill Stuart Milne expands the stadium

Q How do you think the rest of the season will go?
A I expect us to win the leauge, we can do no less! Same with the scottish cup and with the champions leauge we just have to try as hard as we can try and outfox better squads and see how far we can go

Draw was probably an acceptable result but dissapointed that we had a goal disalowed right befour Lyon scored

strong in hte first half, poor in the second half but kept out most of st mirren's advances


Febuary month review
almost a 100% march just let down by the champions leauge where we faced off with one of europe's best teams. Finally reached the sumit of the SPL this month but the last 5 matches will likely be tricky with the ol firm right on my tail

Player of the month - Guiliano
Was getting board with Milos winning the award and he was probably worth the award with 3 goals in his 3 games but Guiliano made alot of goals and was best performer against Lyon so he earnes the award this month

classic cup tie where Lyon took a predictable lead through main forward Lisandro Lopez. both team had there chances to get the games second goal but Rafael was the man who got the pivitol second goal to bring the match level all the way to the end of 120 minutes. Penaltys looked to be going against us when bozaglo was the first man to miss a penalty, number 4. However Lyon failed to score either of there next two penaltys which we scored to secure a surprise trip to the last 8

March month review - A Perfect month in Europe but the leauge may have just took a step away from us with our result against Airdrie means me wont be able to rest players again this season as every match will count. Playing a back up against airdrie my turn out to be a huge mistake even if it did help us progress in europe

Cant be too annoyed by this result possession was almost 50-50 but the better team won but the 1-0 gap means we have something to fight for in the second leg

A very close game and we were lucky to escape with 3 points with a tired team shooting blanks

Possibly our best performance of the season James McCarthy got sent off after 43 minutes putting us really against it but we held out all the way untill the 93rd minute when Barcelona got a penalty that Messi tucked away to secure a 2-0 aggrigate win for Barcelona

Came from behind to get into another final but came with a price with petterson suspended

got the win without any stress and importaintly celtic lost again making our match against them on the last day THE title decider. If we draw rangers are likley to take the title. Will we win the leauge again?

2nd update - 14th minute RED CARD - Aberdeen down to ten ment as Ben Conrad gets his second yellow card and is sent off leaving aberdeen with a huge uphill task

MOM - Georgiev scored alot of the goals that got us here and got us underway here too

Leauge was so close this season with rangers and celtic both making big signing from england like michael Carrack and Peter Crouch brought them right on our tails in terms of points and squad strength

Played a strong team on several occasions but our perfromance were woefull and being eliminated at the group phase was unnacceptable. Must improve next term

played a strong enough team through the tournament at got through it without much hasstle Rangers match aside and the final was a walkover

I would say this season was even better than last term as we only just went out to barcelona after two close encounters and some superb results, more of the same please

player of the year - easy decision this season
1st - Lukovic - Was amazing for us in his first season Couldnt stop scoring or putting in top performances to walk to player of the year

New season and more of the same please

Another very successful season despite the start of our financial overhawl! This is just the start and theres alot more to come, Wages are still about 400k a month more that the stadium income, And Mr Milne says the councel wont allow us to go over 25000 seats for our stadium so were stuck untill we get more seats to bring in more cash

- First season of cutbacks went well but still along way to go. If more cutbacks are to happen this term we might struggle to repeat our success but its neccasary to survive

- Only Glenn Whelan and Ambrosini has left from the big 20k+ wage earners but a few might go out during the summer

- except for 4 youngster i have coming in i dont plan to sign anyone else at this stage but it will depend who stays and who goes

Want to get my first treble after two successive doubles its the only natural progress i feel we can make, Europes still beyond us and if some top players go i might strugle through the group but last 16 is the target
 
Summer 2015. Not exactly the summer i was hoping for. Back up players Mares, bozaglo, McCarthy, Fyvie were sold off for a total of £15m to allow youth players more of a chance next season. Two big players that left was Hutton for £9m, who turns 31 in November and a reshuffel of the defence sees us save £40,000 a week in wages. Sold Rafael also for £9m. With 4 other strikers of a similar nature and two decent youths coming through from the youth team means someone had to go and with his value shooting up i decided he was the man to go. On the incoming front McNally, Donati and Ivanio all youngsters with alot of work to do before they can make the first team.


On the Eve of the new season The evening express caught up with Aberdeen boss Darran Donald.

In a short interview Donald Immediatly shot down claims by "pessamistic" fans that the loss of two of our best players are to make the squad stronger in the future without causing major problems for the current season.

Q - Hutton, Rafael and fans favourite Fyvie were all let go by you this summer What was your reason behind this without bringing in quality players in there place.
A _ With the club still running a loss in wages to gates income we had to make further cut backs and i expect the current team to be up to standard. With players like Lukovic and Conrad still here and ready made replacments in Strachan, Georgiev and Twardzik i suspect we'll be challanging for the title and more again

Q - Will next summer be the same?
A - I have'nt a clue just now if we can convince the councel to expand the stadium then we can expand the squad but for now we'll have to work with what we have.

Q - with a month left of the transfer window with there be any new faces?
A - I'll keep my eyes open for deals but its been a tricky window to pick out players capable of playing for aberdeen but hopfully i'll find a few to strengthen the squad futher but its far from a disaster if we dont

Q - Any position in mind
A - The only change i'm looking at improving is the Center of Midfield with a natural center midfielder to replace Susaeta but finding a better quality player for lower wages will be hard

Much closer in goals than actual performance but our frontline has hardly been firing on all cylinders this term

fell 2-1 behind after 71 minutes and felt the need to put hte big guns on, they got us a vital win against our group rivals

A good performance and result. Was nice to see Twardzik finaly get a goal for us, but he'll have stiff compition from in for Strachan should his form dip again

August month review - A Good if not impressive start to the season. Won both our leauge matches and sitting top of our Super Cup group and pretty much through there. Our strikerforce has been crippled by injury to lead forward Ben Conrad our top scorer in recent season. Strachan and Georgiev are supplying a few goals but the best rated player of the lot, Twardzik Has struggled to hit goals from me. Despite this fact Man Utd chelsea and a few other top team have been chasing him and making bids so i guess he'll come good soon

Devistatin result for us. We dominated the game 13 efforts to 2 and 2 won. Our lack of strenght up front showes in this compition

Two games, Two 1-0 defeats but this time it was deserved we were outplayed and made very few chances. Dissapointing

September month review - A good month domestically but in europe we've been awful and left ourself with a massive uphill task for our last 4 games. Were now to weak to compeate at this level

I have £60m plus 100K in wages to spend but because were not able to bring in all of money in attendance we cant pay the big wages and thats whats stopping me from improving the team drastically but i may have to if the youngster i've brough through demand out and refuse to extend there contracts
