Southampton 1-0 Schalke - Europa Leauge Quarter Final
Coda
Coda Continues to be our shining light in Europe this season in a match we totally dominated but like against Liverpool we struggled to get the goal

Man City 1-1 Southampton
Zinga
A hard earned point away to the champions as our Jynx over them continues for a 4th game

Schalke 1-1 Southampton - Europa Leauge Quarter Final
O'G
A Second 1-1 Draw in a row this one saw us progress to the semi finals where we will play chelsea
AGG 2-1
Southampton 4-2 Portsmouth
Dzeko 4
A decisive performance from Dzeko, getting all 4 goals against our local Rivals

Southampton 2-0 Fulham
Welliton, Baines
Had to rest alot of players for todays games with many players tired after the busy start to the month

Chelsea 0-1 Southampton - Europa Leauge Semi Final
Love
A astonishing result after going down to 10 men Vagner Love struck what proved to be the only goal of the game

Stoke 1-1 Southampton
Dzeko
A point each was a fair result today. Naturally we rested players with The semi finals in a few days and that cost us today but if we can progress in europe it will have been worth it

Southampton 4-1 Chelsea - Europa Leauge Semi Final
Baines, Coda, Zinga, Love
A Stunning start which saw us race into a 3-0 lead after 19 minutes ment we were all but through before 20 minutes were played. A huge win for the club that see's us beat the favourites to ge to the final where we will face Seville
AGG 5-1

April month review - A extreamly busy month where we managed to go unbeaten through the whole month. A trip to a Europa Leauge final and clawing back the gap to 4th place made this my best month in charge

View attachment 64908

Player of the month - Dzeko was the main player in keeping our leauge challange going due to being illegible to play in Europe scoring 4 against our main rivals Pompy was the iceing on the cake

View attachment 64907

Southampton 4-1 Blackburn
Zinga, Dzeko 2, Love
Our first leauge match in a while where i could play a full strength team and the result was a easy win now just 2 point off liverpool in 4th with a game in hand but have arsenal right on our tails

Southampton 0-0 Man Utd
This game flew past with virtually nothing happning. Had we won this game we would be level on points with Man Utd two points ahead of liverpool and a futher point clear of arsenal but two games to go and we need a bit more luck to get into the top 4

West Ham 3-2 Southampton
Garcia, Love
This is where our challange ends after taking a early lead we were second best for most of the game. Although livepool only drew and Arsenal lost liverpool round up there season at home to fulham

Southampton 3-2 Seville - AET - Europa Leauge Final
Coda 2, Mareco
Southamptons first ever european trophy arrives in the shape of the Europa Leauge. In a very enteraining match Coda scored the opener just for sevilleto strike back twice to put them in the lead. Coda was determined to get his hands on a european trophy and scored a second of the game to force extra time. In extra time our stand in defender Victor Mareco who has missed the past 4 months with injury made his comeback tonight to head the winner in Extra time

Birmingham 0-3 Southampton
Love 2, Zinga
A fantastic end to a fantastic season. Love took his southampton leauge total to over 50. However Liverpool did manage to beat Fulham 2-0 so i just missed out on the champions leauge

May month review - Another month of overachievment with a Europa Leauge won just 4 seasons after taking over the club down in leauge 1 and also lead them to a 5th place finish in the table

View attachment 64977

Player of the month - Coda gets it for winning the Europa Leauge not just in the final but through the whole knockout stages he was a star

View attachment 64976

Season 4 2012/2013 Season review

Premiership - 5th
After finishing mid-table and adding Dzeko qualifying for Europe through the leauge was my ambition for the season. Spent almos tthe whole season in the top 6 mostly being just outside the champions leauge places. The season concluded with us finishing in 5th place slightly above my expectations. A perfect base on which to push for champions leauge next season

View attachment 64984

Carling Cup - 3rd round
This was a embarrasment. One game in which Aston Villa beat us 4-1. Even if i had no interest in the cups and played back up and u18's i expected a bit better than this

FA Cup - 3rd round
Another compitition where we have teh record of 1 game 1 defeat 4-2 to everton this time. Same as carling cup, unlicky with the draw and a very youthfull team

Europa Leauge - Winners
A massive win for our club, Just shows how far we've come in a mere 4 seasons. Knocked out some massive teams on the way. Valencia, Arsenal, Schalke, Chelsea and then Sevilla in the final. A club that can do this must be able to get into Englands top 4!

Player of the season
1st - Vagner love
Played a role in both Europe and England so he wins my player of the year JUST from Dzeko. Both hit 22 goals in the leauge proving to be the best strikefore in england and Europe

View attachment 64980

2nd - Edin Dzeko
Much the same as Vagner Love, Lots of goals and lots of assist and a huge average raiting of 7.55. HOpfully will be even better in second term

View attachment 64981

3rd - Gervinho
A Revilation after being transfer listed by Fiorerntina last summer. chipped in with a fair share of goals and assists and his performances were of such sandard Barcelona and Real Madrid were both bidding to take him off my hands at the end of the season

View attachment 64982

Season overview - Like every season so far we have gone beyond our expectations in the leauge and gone well beyond our expectations in a cup compition. Europe was a dream, Champions leauge in two seasons perhaps?

View attachment 64983

Premiership - 5th
Europa Leauge - Winners
FA Cup - 3rd Round
Carling Cup - 3rd Round
Community shield - Winners

Following Southamptons greatest season the previous manager to achieve such greatness on the south coast, Lawrie McMenemy reviews Southamptons new players, of which two made it into the player of the year shortlist

Welliton - Was available from Real Madrid for £5m and was bought to lead the frontline with
Vagner love till Dzeko became available. Never broke into the starting 11 but a return of 10 goals from 13 starts and 22 sub appearances is a very good start to his time at southampton. Excellent back up

Gervinho - Cost the club £8m but finally a player who can perform as well on the left wing as Zinga can on the right. Is in for a difficult season with Gourcuff on his way from Bordeaux. 3 players fighting for 2 positions

Matt Murray - Was limited to the two cup matches. Was only bought due to lack of Englishmen at the club and to let me loan Fulea for the season. Has now retired

Anatolly Tymoschuk - Tymoschuk arrived to add another defensive midfield option, needed with a european run as well as the leauge. Came as a free did a jo and has left on a free to Valencia with younger players Defour, Jenas and Kacar arriving on free's in the summer

Edin Dzeko - £21m spent as well as the £23.5m spent the previous summer on Vagner. Have to
say we have the most effective strikeforce in the world. 56 goals in all comptitions and Dzeko didnt play in europe after getting cup tied for Wolfsburg

Leighton Baines - With Beck playing out of positon on the left last season we needed to get rid of hutton and get a propper left back in. Baines came at a costly £16m but is a more than dependible player. And he's englishman, good for the leauge rules

Matt Jarvis - Bought to fill up my English Allocation with Wolves only wanting £210k for him. Played a key role in the early european games with 3 goals when Gervinho and Zinga were injured. Thse performances earned him another season with us

Glenn Johnson - Added in january to boost our defensive options in the leauge. Will be trained as a centerback so he can be utilised right across the defense. cost £4m but is English and should do a good job for me.

Season 5 - 2013/2014

After another huge step forward last season ment we are now on a creast of a wave with our progress. Now We have to get into the top 4 and through to the Champions leauge and win and winning the premiership. Hofully the players i've added can do that. Again we'll be paying minimal interest to the Domestic cups to focus on our Premier Leauge targets

Premiership - Top 4
FA Cup - Not Concerned
Carling Cup - Not Concerned
Europa Leauge - Knockout Stages

Main signings

Gourcuff - My Favourite right winger in the game, Pre update anyway. Hopfully he'll be as good in this one

View attachment 65165

Defour - Have never had Defour in the game but decided to that he looked to good to pass us and better than my current crop of midfielders

View attachment 65166

Zapata - Needed a top quality partner for Rivas in my defense and witout having to pay £80m+ Zapata would probably be the best. Costing £24.5m hopfully he can follow in the footsteps of Vagner love and Dzeko

View attachment 65167

Fletcher - Was having a rake through the European u21 teams for bargains and found this gem from Aston Villa. Doesnt look to far away from being good enough for my first team.

View attachment 65168

Rimmer - Fell across Rimmer in the Ipswich youth team. Looks like an amazing potential although hard to judge at the age of 16

View attachment 65169

Joe Hart - Found him on a free and with nobody as a back up keeper and no reasonable english players available he'll do for the season as back up, then maybe loan next season to get his value up

View attachment 65170

Jermaine Jenas, Kacar both arrived to bolster my center midfield if either of the current 3 around the first team let me down

View attachment 65171View attachment 65172

Didier Drogba and Charlie N'Zogbia were sitting on a free and compleated my line up of 25 players for the season

View attachment 65173View attachment 65174

Main Player sales
With a big intake of players we had to cut back on a few

Javi Garcia, Mareco, Sidwall, Tymoschuk. were all dropping down the order with the new players coming in, Javi Garcia being my best sale. Bought on a free after being relised and sold to Reggina for £10.5m after being a consistan performer for his two seasons at the club.

A bit upset to see Mareco go having been with us since the leauge 1 days.

several youth players failed to live up to there potential. Most dissapointing was Agirre but i got almost £7m for him. McNish, Esposito and Mills all failed to develop while Fulea was never getting cloes to Benaglio so he's away.

Man City 3-2 Southampton
Vagner Love 2
We opened the premier leauge season today with a game of two halfs. First half we lost 3 goals and Gourcuff for 2 months with injury, However we pulled it back to 3-2 with a spirited second half display

Southampton 3-1 Chelsea
Dzeko 3
Dzeko picks up from where Vagner Love left off against Man City and from our two tricky matches we've got some points on the second attempt

Arsenal 0-1 Southamton
Gervinho
A third tricky game in a row, must be the hardest start in Premiership history but our best result so far thanks to Gervinho's strike

Southampton 3-0 Man City - European Super Cup
Dzeko 3
Fourth tricky match in a row, just liverpool after this. Back to tonights success though a hatrick in just over half a hour had the game won well before half time. Richards red card was the final nail in citys coffin as we pick up another European Trophy

View attachment 65316

August month review - A dissapointing star against Man City has been totally forgot with a run that has seen us beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City in the super cup

View attachment 65315

Player of the month - Edin Dzeko got a hatrick against chelsea to get us our first 3 points of the season then repeated the trick against Man City

View attachment 65314

Liverpool 2-2 Southampton
Love, Dzeko
First match back after the international break and we came so close to a big win until Maxi Rodriguez stole a point for liverpool

Southampton 7-1 Levski - Europa Leauge match day 1
Coda 3, Jenas, Lallana, Welliton, Drogba
A walkover for our back up players. A great start to our defense of the europa leauge

Southampton 2-0 Leicester - Leauge cup 3rd round
Jarvis, Drogba
A tight game where Leicester had there fair share of chances to get a equaliser before Drogba put the game beyond them

Leeds 2-3 Southampton
Dzeko, Zinga 2
This game could have gone anywhere until we got a penalty which Zinga converted

September month review - Won all our games except Liverpool. Which isnt a bad result. A Good month

View attachment 65521

Player of the month - Dzeko scored in both of my main matches this month so he keeps the award

View attachment 65522

AJ Auxerre 1-2 Southampton - Europa Leauge match day 2
Love, Gervinho
A very tricky game but we came through it to add another 3 points to our total

Southampton 2-1 Stoke
Beck, Gervinho
Far from our most convincing performance of the season . Really struggled to put Stoke to bed in tonights match and were left hanging on for the win

Bolton 2-3 Southampton
Fletcher, Love, Dzeko
Like the stoke match we were far from convincing but another 3 points is what the game is all about

Southampton 4-0 AZ - Europa leauge match day 3
Gervinho, Love, Dzeko 2
A convincing win against the team i expected to be our main rivals in the group, with Dzeko staring yet again

Southampton 3-0 Oldham - Leauge cup 4th round
Coda 2, Welliton
Were never in any danger of advancing to the 5th round with our two back up forwards on top form

October month review - A 100% record in all compitions makes it our best month during my time in charge

View attachment 65575

Player of the month - Vagner Love won the leuages player of the month so he can have mine as well

View attachment 65574

Man Utd 0-2 Southampton
Dzeko, Love
A huge win in Manchester to keep us in the top 3 despite being several games behind

AZ 2-3 Southampton - Europa Leauge match day 4
Coda, Gourcuff, Love
Match looked lost at 2-1 with 22 minutes to go brought on Dzeko, Love and Gourcuff who contributed two goals to secure our passage to the knockout phase

Southampton 4-1 Fulham
Love, Gervinho, Defour, Lallana
A fully rested team had no problems beating Fulham

Southampton 4-0 Hull
Baines, Dzeko 2, Fletcher
The match was won wit hthree goals in the first half hour as we warmed up for our clash with Spurs

Tottenham 2-2 Southampton
O'G, Zinga
This will go down as dropped points as we had plenty of chances to score throughout the games but our strikers had a off day

Southampton 3-0 Sunderland
Dzeko, Gourcuff, Coda
A win with little buit of luck after Sunderland had the opening goal dissaloud, Unfairly they claim!

November month review - A very satisfactory end to a very busy month at St Marys. Progression in Europe and domesticly as we are now a clear 2nd place in the table

View attachment 65734

Player of the month - Vagner Love was my first Premiership player of the month in ages so he can get my player of the month too for a handfull of assists to go with his 2 goals

View attachment 65733

Southampton 3-1 Newcastle - Leauge cup Q-Finals
Welliton 3
Welliton prove to be terrific back up by getting a hatrick to take us through to the semi finals, Very pleased with the back up players getting us here but we'll go full strength in the semis

Levski 2-2 Southampton - Europa Leauge match day 5
Zinga, Rimmer
A poor result after the last few outings for the back up players but Rimmer managed in one night to become our youngest goalscorer and youngest player sent off

Everton 1-4 Southampton
Love 2, Dzeko, Gourcuff
In a fairly eve game the difference was our awsome strikeforce

Southampton 1-1 Burnley
Gourcuff
A awful result. Our form has been stutering recently and we have to get back on track soon with a tricky run of games coming up at the end of the month

Southampton 4-2 AJ Auxerre - Europa match day 6
Welliton, Coda, Zinga 2
Our back up players signed of from the europa leauge with a superb victory with our three best players playing a scoring role

Southampton 2-0 West Ham
Gourcuff, Gervinho
Our wingers have been terrific this season supplying plenty for the strikers untill today where they were the strikers

BLackburn 0-2 Southampton
LOve, Zinga
Played alot of back up players to prepair for Man City in 3 days time

Southampton 1-0 Man City
Dzeko
A huge win in the title race. A perfect end to the year altough city wont be easy to beat with Rene Adler in goals having only let in 5 goals in 18 games

View attachment 65806

December month review - A big month in the title race as we can now catch city if we win our game in hand

View attachment 65803

Player of the month - Dzeko had a quiet month until the Man City game but he got the only goal there, how pricless that could turn out to be

View attachment 65802

World player of the year - Edin Dzeko
£24m very well spent as he contiunes to score for fun and a well earned award for the Bosnian

View attachment 65805

World Team of the year
Does southamton have the best strikeforce in the world? Well cant be much doubting it after they were both named in the world team of the year

View attachment 65804

Chelsea 1-1 Southampton
Love
Came damm close to getting all 3 points but Chelsea's 10 men managed to get a 88th minute equaliser to grab a point

Southampton 6-1 Watford - FA Cup 3rd round
Jarvis, Drogba 2, Welliton 3
A dominant display from our back up players, especially the strikers Welliton and Drogba

Southampton 2-2 Man City - Leauge cup Semi finals
Defour, Love
A bad result in our efforts to get to the leuage cup final. lead with a 86th minute strike but Man City had another goal in them

Southampton 2-3 Arsenal
Love, Welliton
A horrific match, performance and result. Arsenal were much the better team and we were well beaten by them. Worse than the result Dzekos ruled out for a month

Southampton 3-0 Birmingham
Wellion 2, Gourcuff
Thankfully a return to more normall form. Hopfully this will stick

Sunderland 1-2 Southampton
Zinga, Gourcuff
Was lucky to get the 3 points. Was a close match that wasnt decided till the last 10 minutes when Alan Smith was sent off and Gourcuff scored the winner

Man City 3-1 Southampton - Leuage cup semis 2nd leg
Gourcuff
A disapointing result unless you take into consideration that we werent interest in the domestic cups and we were missing 5 of our starting 11
agg 5-3

Southampton 0-1 West Ham - Fa Cup 4th Round
Since we havent any interest in the Fa Cup i played the back up players and they failed to deliever in what was a tricky tie against another premiership team

Southampton 1-1 Liverpool
Love
This was a Big oppentunity to close the gap to Man City at the top but we could only draw leaving the gap from the top at 5 points

January month review - Wasnt our best month. Havent played anywhere near the from we had during the first few months of the season. Stuttering to draws in matches we would have won earlyer in the season leaves us with some work to do in the Leauge

View attachment 66472

Player of the month - Vagner Loves name constantly appeared during the month and his goals this month might end up being importaint come the end of the season

View attachment 66473

Southampton 3-0 Leeds
Coda, Gervinho, Love
Had no problems beating our former leauge 1 rivals as we again mirror Man Citys result

Southampton 2-2 Aston Villa
Coda, Defour
Our stutering form continues with aother 2 points dropped

Hull 0-2 Southampton
Love, Coda
Again our form was questionable. Took forever to get a goal but once we did it was never likley hull would get anything

Stoke 1-3 Southampton
Coda, Welliton 2
Had to give some first teamers a rest with some of them being knackered with the run of games but the young strikers made the difference

Spartak Moscow 0-3 Southampton - Europa leauge 1st knockout stage
Love, Kacar, Coda
A easy win for our well rested stars who should have gained a rest for the second leg

Southampton 3-2 Spartak Moscow - Europa leauge 1st knockout stage, 2nd leg
Lallana 2, Coda
Agg 6-2
Progressed to the next stage with no problems what so ever, a boost we could rest the first teamers for the Premiership

Febuary month review - A month without defeat but some dodgy performances in the leuage. Can only hope that in march we get closer to the early season for which led us on an unbeaten run of 29 games

View attachment 66506

Player of the month - Coda became our lead striker this month as Vagner loves form plumeted and Dzekos utterly evaporated

View attachment 66505

Birmingham 0-4 Southampton
Dzeko, Gervinho, Lov, Gourcuff
An amazing perfromance by both wingers helped us to this stuning win

Southampton 3-1 Villarreal - Europa Leauge 2nd knockout Phase
Beck, Gervinho 2
Spent most of the match at 1-0 Villarreal but two stoppage time goals from Gervinho gave us the win in a match that looked lost

Southampton 2-2 Man Utd
Fletcher, Love
A very dissapointing result for our championship challange, Should have beat Man Utd after having double the chances they had

Villareal 2-1 Southampton - Europa leauge 2nd knockout phase 2nd leg
Love
Agg 4-3 Southampton
A late away goal put us through to the last 8 and a match againsyLens

Fulham 0-3 Southampton
Dzeko 2, Gervinho
The players were well rested and gave a good performance to keep us in touch at the top of the leauge

Southampton 2-0 Bolton
Dzeko, Coda
Depite playing bottom of the table Bolton this match was never easy and the three points werent secure till 3 minutes into stopage time with Coda scoring

Southampton 4-1 Tottenham
Love 2, Defour, Dzeko
A crushing performance against one of our two leauge rivals. Spurs goal was a late consilation in the last few minutes after we went 4-0 ahead

March month review - Only defeat was against Villareal where we progressed anyway, only dropped points to Man Utd in what was a unlucky result as we dominated the game. Still progressing in Europe and the Leauge hopfully won have to choose between them as season progresses

View attachment 67689

Player of the month - Vagner love! we've been here so many time before. Scored in almost every game and alot of very importaint goals in here
View attachment 67688

Lens 1-3 Southampton - Europa Leauge Q Finals
Dzeko, Coda, Gourcuff
A streightforward win 3 away goal should be enough to give the first team a rest in the second leg

Southampton 3-0 Lens - Europa leauge Q finals second leg
Welliton 2, Coda
Agg 6-1
Our progres to the semi finals was never in doubt two early goals from our reserve strikeforce helped make sure of that

Southampton 1-1 Everton
Dzeko
One of our more disapointing performances this season leaves us behind Man City in the table again. WOuld give them the advantage with the run in as we have 3 away games in a row up next and there out of Europe so just the leauge to focus on

Newcastle 3-5 Southampton
Love 4, Gourcuff
Our worst 1st half of the season and by far the most entertaining match in my carrear as Southamton manager. After a terrible first half where we went in 3-2 down a inspired 2nd half display from Vagner Love gave us a importaint 3 points

Burnley 0-4 Southampton
Love 2, Lallana, Coda
followed on from the second half of the newcastle game to walk past Burnley

Porto 1-2 southampton - Europa Leauge semi finals
Love, Dzeko
How costly will that 91st minute strike from Hulk be in the second leg in a weeks time?

West Ham 3-2 Southampton
gourcuff, Dzeko
This is probably where we'll have lost the leauge. 3 games left 7 points behind Man City who have a game in hand so they have to loose and draw in there last two gaems at home to Burnley and away to everton

Southampton 2-3 Porto - AET- Europa Leauge semi finals 2nd leg
Gourcuff, Love
AGG 4-4 - Porto on away goals
Devistated at our season falling apart in the later stages.

April month review - Aside from walking past Lens in europe and walking over Burnley it was a terrible month

View attachment 67715

Player of the month - Hard to pick anyone but Vagner love's 4 goal saviour against Newcastle kept us in the leauge fight before we screwed up against west ham

View attachment 67716

Southampton 3-0 Blackburn
Love, Skjelbred, Welliton
A convining win although was totally pointless as man city won to take a 5th Premier Leauge in a row

Southampton 3-0 Newcastle
Love, Dzeko 2
Like in Blackburn totally dominant performance but was a pointless game with a top 2 finish guarrenteed several games ago

Aston Villa 4-0 Southampton
This result came out of nowhere. We were onkly missing 3 players but were totally embarased by Villa in our last game of a season with a huge Anti Climax

May Month review month review - The damage was done in late April but the final nails in our coffin was in the late april

Player of the month - Vagner love
As the star of the second half of the season Love scored in our two penultimate matches to easily secure the leauge top goal scorer of the season

View attachment 67882

Season 5 2013/2014 Season review

Premiership - 2nd
A great result where we were in level pegging with Man City right up till April where we faded away. Just a small step away from winning the leauge

View attachment 67920View attachment 67921

Carling Cup
Walked through to the Semi Finals where we came up against Man City and didnt perform but had set expectations low.

View attachment 67922

FA Cup
Only got through to the 4th round but again werent concerned by what happened here

View attachment 67923

Europa Leauge
Stumbled through the knockout phase to the semi finals and in the semi finals we had to rest some players with us still battiling for the leauge in the end turned out we betted the house and lost the lot

View attachment 67924

Player of the season
1st - Vagner love
Another season leading the frontline and another season as the star player. Hopfully another season like this next year will lead us to the promised land

View attachment 67927

2nd - Edin Dzeko
Like last season didnt quite score as many goals but was the better performer. What more could you expect from the worlds top striker

View attachment 67926

3rd - Andreas Beck
Was regularly picking up high 7's for his match raiting and really came of age this season as the undisputed star of my defense

View attachment 67925

Season overview - Similar to last season as we overachieved but just fell short of our maximum target. A Bit worrying how we faided away through April and May especially since i havent got any major changes planned for next seson

Overview
Premiership - 2nd
Europa Leauge - Semi Finals
FA Cup - 4th Round
Carling Cup - Semi Finals

So close but so far. How did Southamptons new players contibute to coming 2nd in the Premiership

Youann Gourcuff - The best freebie i've seen in FM10. Glad to have him as another world class attacking player

Steven Defour - Failed to impress during his debut and possibly only season at the club. Expected more than the 6.88 raiting he gave us for the season and was the weak link several times during the season

Cristain Zapata - THe first World class defender i added to the squad and an impressive first season for Zapata. Unsure if he'll get any more quality around him during the summer

Luke Fletcher - Broke into the 7's for raiting's and the england squad all in an impressive debut season. Hopfuly he can develop next season although whether he'll keep his place in the 1st 11 is up for debate

Michael Rimmer - Was limited to mostly sub appearances in his freshman year although showed on occasion the qualitys that will hopfully shine through in years to come

While Joe HArt, Jenas, Kacar, Drogba, N'Zogbia were sighned as Back up for the first team and all did a acceptable job when called upon

Milenkovic and Stojkovic were brought in for the future and only played a handfull of matches

Season 6 - 2014/2015

Last season saw us falling at the final hurdle in the race for the Premiership. Quite a fw players coming and going over the summer will hopfully see us go to the next level although im not so confident with the sqaud i have this season. Will take a while to get settled and to convince me were better this season.

Targets
Premiership - Top 2
FA Cup - Last 16
Carling Cup - Last 16
Champions Leauge - Knockout Stages

Main signings
Claudio Marchisio and Javier Pastore
Two players to form my new center midfield partnership. Both arriving of free's from italy with high expectations

View attachment 69060View attachment 69061

Nemanja Vidic
Now in the twilight of his carear but even at 32 in hoping he can give us two seasons at least

View attachment 69062

Roger Camacho
Got rave reviews telling us how Camacho was as good as Dzeko so he has come in to be our 3rd choice striker

View attachment 69058

Eden Hazard
The best Left winger i could buy afer Gervinho left. Certainly overpayed for him but with some luck he'll complement Gourcuffs form on the left wing

View attachment 69059

Jack Rodwell
Didnt really need another center midfieder but the inclusion of Rodwell to our squad means its the only position we've got world class back up now

View attachment 69063

Main Player sales

Steven Defour
Was very unimpressive in his first season so decided when Marchisio became available that defour would be out

Joe Hart
Unhappy at being back up and after getting offered £3.9m for him it was a good deal

Gervinho
After two summers trying to convince him to stay he came down to the last year of his contract we had to sell

Simon Zinga
Same as Gervinho

Martin Caceres
Same as Gervinho

Francisco Coda
Inteneded to loan him out untill Galatasary and Lazio offerd £11.5m for him

G Johnson
Due to being back up £7m was a very good offer

Per Skjelbred
Was short of English players so with Rodwell coming in we had a overdose of Midfield center

Southampton 1-2 Man City - Community shield
Love
Never looked competative here and looked to be playing a team thats out of our leauge

Chelsea 2-1 Southampton
Dzeko
Chelsea were better in front of goal in a very even match where luck just kept going against us. First chelseas first goal, then Zapata and Vagner Love going off injured

Southampton 2-2 Man Utd
Camacho, Gourcuff
As if playing worse isnt bad enought we've lost the element of luck with a 91st minute winner being ruled out giving us our 1st point of the season

Tottenham 0-3 Southampton
Dzeko, Camacho, Zapata
Showed glimpses of our form of previous seasons to dominate this match against our leauge rivals

Southampton 0-0 Stoke
A horrific result thats sums up a dodgy start to the season

Champions Leauge draw
Got a favourible draw with Bayern being the main opposition in the group. Zenit and Club Brugge will also have to be overcome to reach the group phases

Major cash injection
Mr Libherr has earned a reputation for injecting the odd millions here and there but he's gone crazy here and given us a extra £101m to spend. YAY

August month review - Our worst start to the season so far. With only 1 good result against tottenham. Every other match had a element of dissapointment
