Contract is up very shortly and I am now 33, it may be that time...

It's been good though, I mean I have hardly played and have averaged anything from £14,000 - £22,000 per year, but peaked at £50,000. Thankfully the Missus made some decent money and some inheritance money came through late allowing me to live a good life!

Me and old Gary Bollan have a weird relationship! From hating each other to being pals at Airdrie, he took over at Stenhousemuir and thinks turned sour!!

I was turning 34 and after a stint of playing football regularly it was clear I was really getting old. I spent 2 years at Stenhousemuir working with this young genius on the wing Alan Wood and did a lot with the under 18s. Like I spent my career doing.

However, Bollan and I fell out again before the chairman gave me a talk about how there was no place for me at the club. He meant it in the nicest possible way but I was developing them youngsters along nicely but sure whatever.

I decided I'd call it a day at the end of the season. I had a career that was cool but nothing on what IT SHOULD have been. Things just went against me.

I am not desperate to get into a staff or managerial role straight away. I have a 3 year old to look after as the Missus wants to get back into her work and continue her career progression. I can chill out for a few months, get fat, play Football Manager and drink lots! While remaining responsible with the young child of mine!!

Time to work my way into a job!

I hope you and Bolland end up managing at rival clubs so you can beat him and then trash talk him in the press conference!!!

Poor Calum James had no real luck in his career. :(

I have enjoyed this, so may return with another player story!

That's such a shame he didn't succeed as a manager, I think you should sim a couple of years and then add yourself to the game with his exact same badges, reputation, favoured clubs etc and "come out of retirement" as an unemployed manager and see how you go!

Tempting but 2040 makes things so slow simming wise. Got a new BAP going up soon so all good!
