This was with a BPD and a DC in the back and no shouts regarding tempo.

Now I'm also trying with a supporting Advanced playmaker instead of Treq and attacking wingers. It's basically the same as sean's 442 now.

Hey sean, are you still using shouts when the opposite team has a narrow formation (no wingers or wingbacks)?
I remember on fm 13 you used shouts like 'play narrower, exploit the flanks' etc.
Thanks in advanced

Just an update for those who care about 4-2-3-1, moving up the DM to CM position is a blast: 1 goal scored every 22 minutes, 1 goal conceded every 118 minutes (1 goal scored every 37 mins and 1 goal conceded every 86 mins for the DM version).

I just had a 8-0 and a 10-2 victories in Serie A, winning every game with at least 3 goals difference. And the tactic is not even fully fluid.

Will post screenshots at the end of the season.

You mean, you modified your tactic posted in post #277 ? And what task do you give to these 2 CM ?

I'll try your tactic when I start my next season. I'm playing with Sevilla FC and even though I'm 6th at the moment, I'm not really satisfied with the way the team plays.

I am playing the v2 version of this tactic : I concede a lot of goals and my strikers aren't very efficient. When the opposite team scores first, it's very hard for me to come back in the game :S

Set up now is: (a) Attacking Forward, (s) Advanced Playmaker, (a) wingers, (s) box-to-box, (d) DLP. Defense is as Sean set, I'm using a CD just because I can't get any decent BPD.

Fierro scored 27 goals in 28 matches so far.

Great results mate, nice one. Can you post a link to your new and improved tactic maybe? (lm lazy!)

Would love to try your tweak with Peterborough! :) could you link it maybe?

cheers

Thanks!
Training the same as OP?

cheers :)

Yes, everything else is as Sean wrote.

Edit: Some screenshots about my 4-2-3-1 tweak after season 3 (won Serie A and TIM Cup):

As you can see in the last pic, this tactic averaged 3 scored goals per game, while conceding about 0,75 goals per game.

which version is best for 14.1.3 version (last one verison of patch)? v1,v2?

I have a few questions if I may spiattalo about the tactic because I want it exactly like you have it.

You are currently playing with 4-2-3-1 and you moved up the DMC to MC positions and using them as BBM(s) and DLP(d)? and are the wingers on attack and the AP on support? and in the defence is the only thing you changed that you are using one as central defender and the other one as BPD?

About the team instructions did you take away the higher tempo and added tighter marking or are you still using the higher tempo?

Regards!

and I see you put two differents tweaks, wich is the best ?

Definitely the second one.

Yes to all your questions. :) As for team instructions, I used both tighter marking and higher tempo.

Okey thank you! I forgot one question, what do you use for match preparation and for the match training?

Everything as Sean wrote. Sometimes I train Defence as I think this tactic concedes too much back there, but I like to change the focus every now and then according to my mood. :P

This tactic is great but the only problem is that there are few players that are good and RM/LM are their natural positions

Won 2 Dutch Doubles in a row (league + cup), as well as a Champions League with FC Groningen!
