The Wolves Smell Blood

Life without Champions League is hard...the wolves smell blood and everybody wants a piece of Chelsea. As mentioned before, Oscar, Azp and Zouma has all been taken away, this is not looking good for Chelsea!

Mid-Season Update

Mid-Season Update

It's January and things are going very very well.

First of all, I haven't updated you guys on how our current team is looking...so here is our lineup.

View attachment 214341

To say it is a little "overpowered" would be an understatement...just ask newly promoted Huddersfield.

View attachment 214340

Pundits seem to think so as well, with Arsenal taking 8 of the 11 Team of the Week spots...

As you can imagine, we are currently on a rampage through the Premier League.

But Chelsea? Well not so much.

They had a decent start to the season I must say, but as the Season drew on and they started getting hit with a few key injuries, their thin squad really struggled to cope. This culminated in a disaster run of games in December as the games were packed close together.

Somehow, they are still sitting 7th in League though...lets see how they will fare in the coming months.

...

Hey mate, can you please post some screenshots of your players. I'm very interested in how Bellerin developed in the game. Also I want to check jeff reine adelaide and the other youngsters. Thanks in advantage!!! And sorry for my bad english. :)

I will take some screens when I get home.

But off my head, Bellerin and Oxlade are the only 2 Arsenal Youth I have kept, and they absolutely rock!

Just something I found interesting. Going through my squad I saw Cech has been downgraded to just 2 stars (useful) and at 36, I thought the end must be getting near, even as a goalie (who can play well into late 30s) his stats are declining.

So I did a quick comparison of him with the guy I want to replace him with (prob for well over 50 mill) and wow...

Just shows what a legend Cech really is.

Mate, this is the best read i had in years on this site. Keep `em rolling :)

Let's do a bit of a Mourinho check, see what the Special One is up to these days.

After he was sacked by Chelsea, he rejoined his favourite FC Porto for a short stint, before the Manchester City gig became available and he took the job and came back to the Premier League.

Manchester City is currently sitting in 4th and has struggled lately due to a long injury to Aguero, who at 30 years old, is still one of their key players.

I am not sure if Mourinho will be up for the sack again if City finishes 4th, but if they somehow end up 5th and out of Champions League....well bye bye Mourinho again!

My focus is still on Chelsea. I don't think I have the capacity to take on both Man City and Chelsea at the same time :) But hey, if an opportunity comes up to steal some talent from Manchester City and weaken them, I'd surely take it.

Just wanted to take a moment and show you guys my current Loan list.

My first priority when loaning is always to Domestic clubs that are not the top 6, in the hope these players will help take some points off my competitors :)

Anyway with all these young stars getting game time and experience, the future of Arsenal is looking bright.

Another premier league season draws to a close and Arsenal as expected absolutely dominated from start to finish.
View attachment 214066

27 points clear from second, unbeaten, and scoring an insane 139 goals.

The highlight of the season was a 8-0 win over a relatively full strength Manchester United. It was sweet sweet payback for the 8-2 from long ago.

As for Messi, well he is a god, there is no other way to describe him. 51 goals and 15 assists in the premier league and 76 goals in all competitions, I would say he did exactly what I expected him to do!

View attachment 214064

As for Chelsea, with new reinforcements during the January window, they had a really good run until the final run of games where they dropped a number of points and missing out on champions league football by just 1 point!!! The fact they had no European football and knocked out of league cup and FA cup early also helped with plenty of time between games.

Our favorite Mr Special was once again sacked after Manchester City finished 3rd, which was kinda surprising. So once again Mourinho is out of a job, and it will be interesting where he pops up next!

Next season my priority will be replacing a 37 year old Cech, who has been my faithful starting keeper since the start of my save. Looking at his stats thought, I reckon his got at least another 2-3 years at the top. His obvious replacement will be Courtois, his currently the best keeper in the game in 2019 and naturally it will weaken Chelsea, which is what it's all about!

There is still the matter of a FA Cup final vs Tottenham, and then Champions League Final vs Barca.

So what do you guys think about the story so far? And any suggestions for the future or just next season, wether it is improvements to Arsenal or tips to take Chelsea down.

We got our man. After several weeks of poking around, unsettling the player with offers, Chelsea finally gave in and we got Courtois, arguably the last of Chelsea's "Star Players".

View attachment 214031

The offer was 10 mill upfront and 40 million over 48 months, I think it was a good deal considering his going to be our top keeper for the next 10 or so years!

It is a great day for Arsenal, as we now have one of the best keepers in the world to round off our already overpowered team.

As for Chelsea, they conceded 50 goals last season on their way to 5th. One can only imagine how many they will leak through the next season without Courtois!

I love how the ex-Chelsea keeper is helping you win points and money to buy the man who replaced him at Chelsea; to replace him now when he's ready to retire. I can almost see Cech's grin at what you're doing :P A moral victory.

That is exactly right! You can't imagine how much I am enjoying this :)

With Courtois gone, i don`t see them getting European Football next season, good job mate, as an ARSENAL fan i`m enjoying this very much. Keep up the good work. I`m trying to do something similar in FM15 :)

We are currently in the Preseason of the new season.

I am open for suggestions on how I should approach the upcoming season, anything else I should try?
