Udinese 2-3 Napoli

Ari (85, 89)

Hamsik (pen 56), Maxi Rodriguez (66, 79)

wpid-Udinese-vs-Napoli.jpg

The first half was extremely dull. Both teams were too scared to leave their own half, not much was created at all.
And the second half was the same until Hamsik was hacked down in the area. He scored the resulting penalty. Udinese opened up a little and started to attack, but they went a little over the top and Napoli hit them on the break, Rodriguez finishing a fine move on 66 minutes.
11 minutes from the end, Rodriguez curled in a free kick, giving Napoli the lead. Napoli then sat back, happy with their 3 goal lead.
But Udinese had other ideas and manged to pull one back five minutes from the end, Ari their goal scorer. Many Udinese fans had already left the stadium, so when Ari scored his second on 89 minutes, there wasn't much cheering coming from the home crowd. But Udinese believed, and continued to attack, with Fulop clearing off the line with the last kick of the ball. Napoli almost surrendered a 3 goal lead, but they hanged on and win 3-2

Hamsik (8)

getafe_perez1.jpg

Napoli faced a tough trip to Getafe in the Europa League. But it seemed as if Napoli would get the better of their Spanish counterparts, as Hamsik scored a blinder on 8 minutes. How ever, the game proved to be a very slow, tight game. But it looked as if Napoli would grind out the win until 87 minutes, when Gavilan headed in for Getafe to equal the scores. the game ended 1-1, with Napoli having the important away goal

napoli-hamsik.jpg

Mr Drezzy was pleased with the result, alot of teams had found it extremely difficult to get a result against Getafe over the past few years, so he was happy to walk away with the draw and away goal

Napoli 2-0 Cagliari

Hlousek (32), Cavani (56)

wpid-Napoli-vs-Cagliari.jpg

Napoli continued their quest for silverware with a league game against a decent Cagliari outfit.
Napoli didn't play too well but neither did Cagliari, and Napoli managed to open the scoring on 32 minutes, with Hlousek tapping home.
But it was in the second half that Napoli managed to score their second, and grab the win. It was evr present Cavani who slipped home the ball after a sloppy clearance. Napoli win a terrible game, 2-0.

Mr Drezzy knew that Napoli had it in them to win in fashion, but he also understood that it was better to win a sloppy game, then lose and play well

Napoli started this first half on fire, and they opened the scoring when Quagliarella scored on 20 minutes. Sakho then rose and headed the ball in the net on 28 minutes, to make it 2-0 and 3-1 on aggregate. A few minutes later, Lavezzi volleyed the ball home to put the game beyond the visitors. To make things worse, Lavezzi was taken out in the area, and Hamsik made it 4-0 on the night, with a classic penalty.
Napoli went into the second half looking to control the ball, and that's what they done, but Getafe broke and managed to score on 82 minutes, but it didn't mean anything.
Lavezzi piled on the misery on getafe, with a scorching volley at the end of the game. Napoli win 5-1 on the night, 6-2 on aggregate

There was nothing special about this game, it was an easy win for Napoli against a Reggina side who seemed like they didn't care.
Hamsik opened the scoring on 39 minutes, curling in a free kick. After the half, Napoli turned up the heat and it paid off, Napoli scoring their second, capitalising on some horrific Reggina defending. But Reggina hit them on the break, and two minutes later had scored an unlikely goal.
But Burdisso restored the two goal lead, with a near post header. Napoli win 3-1

071105_rullo-napoli-reggina_news.jpg

A straight forward game for Napoli, keeping their lead at the top of the table. Maradona and Drezzy embraced after the game, giving each other a high five, Morale seems to be high

30331_117079301658506_117041901662246_142285_6513478_n.jpg

Napoli would go twelve points clear and come closer to that elusive league title, if they beat bottom of the table Frosinone, who only had 15 points and were certain to go down.
They put in a good effort for the first half an hour but Napoli were just too good, breaking them down easily and Lavezzi scoring on 28 minutes. Cavani nodded the second one home in stoppage time
Napoli came out in the second half, and didn't get out of second gear, but it didn't matter, it was easy. Rodriguez blasting in a shot from 20 yards out, and then De Jong tucking the ball away from close range, on 79 minutes
Napoli picked up an easy 4-0 win, and were now 12 points clear at the top of the table.

white-hart-lane.jpg

This was the first time Mr Drezzy had returned to his home land in a competitive match, and it was a brilliant one, an open ended game, with Napoli securing a good away win.
Napoli opened the scoring when Quagliarella shot from 12 yards out, beating the spurs keeper. But Tottenham hit back, with Sarna smashing the ball home, after Napoli failed to clear a corner. 1-1 at half time, but Napoli had the away goal.
After the break, De Jong went in two footed on Van Der Vaart, and the hot headed dutch man recieved his marching orders. But Napoli didn't fold, they scored the next goal, Hamsik hitting a stunning volley. But Tottenham made the extra man count, hitting Napoli on the break, Defoe was one on one with the keeper, and he scored. 2-2.
The game looked as if it was heading for a draw but Cavani had different ideas on 88 minutes, he broke free of the last man, rounded the keeper and gave Napoli the 3-2 win.

Napoli 3-1 Sampdoria

Quagliarella (1, 85), Lavezzi (29)

Semioli

wpid-Napoli-vs-Sampdoria.jpg

Napoli hosted a stuttering Sampdoria team today, and it got off to a flying, with Napoli breaking from the kick off and scoring, Sampdoria hadn't even touched the ball.
Time went on and Sampdoria proved to be tough to break down, how ever, a brilliantly placed header on 29 minutes, by Lavezzi, doubled Napoli's lead.
The game died down a little bit, Napoli happy with their lead, how ever, before the break, Sampdoria nearly pinched a goal, but it wasn't to be
In the second half, Sampdoria began to attack, but Napoli managed to keep them at bay until Semioli scored from 10 yards out, it was game on, and Sampdoria looked like a different team, having numerous chances to equalise. But Quagliarella put a stop to all of that, placing a shot into the bottom left from close range, Napoli win 3-1

Napoli (3)2-2(2) Tottenham

Lavezzi (21, 27)

Maicon (31), Bale (62)

stadio-san-paolo-naples-238.jpg

Napoli held a 3-2 lead coming into the game, and things got off to a great start when Lavezzi scored two goals in six minutes, and it looked as if they game was beyond Tottenham, but they continued to to push and broke through on 31 minutes, Maicon scoring.
Tottenham were putting Napoli under pressure, and Bale scored Tottenhams second on 61 minutes, a sublime run followed by a blistering shot. Tottenham needed one more to equal the scores, and when Cannavaro was sent off, it looked as if they would do it, and maybe even knock Napoli out, but they couldn't break down the Napoli defence, Napoli scrape through 5-4 on aggregate

Every one associated with Napoli were ecstatic, they had won the Quarter finals, and now faced another English side in the Semi's, Aston Villa

Roma 2-1 Napoli

De Rossi (16), Vucinic (45+2)

Sosa (48)

wpid-Roma-vs-Napoli.jpg

Napoli had the chance to put one hand on the title tonight, if they could beat rivals Roma.
But Roma had other ideas and took the lead on 16 minutes, with a powerful shot from the edge of the Area, De Rossi was delighted.
Napoli continued to push, coming close to scoring, but they couldn't. And then they were dealt a sucker punch, Vicinic scoring a tap in, although there were hints of offside.
But after the break, Sosa scored to give Napoli some home, but that was all Napoli could muster up, Roma win 2-1

This result hurt Napoli, they were tired from their run of games, but that was no excuse to lose today

Inter Milan 2-2 Napoli

Dzsudzsak (18, 45+1)

Lavezzi (16), Hamsik (pen 42)

wpid-Inter-Milan-vs-Napoli.jpg

This was an extremely tight game, it was more like a game of Chess. But it was Napoli who got the breakthrough, Lavezzi volleying home just after 15 minutes, but Inter hit straight back, a lovely placed header equaled the scores
3 minutes before the end of the first half, Lavezzi was tumbled down in the area, and Napoli were awarded the penalty, which Hamsik netted. 2-1 to Napoli. But the scoring wasn't over as Milan hit Napoli on the break, scoring a minute into injury time
The second half was all about defending, with neither team managing to get the break through, the game ends 2-2

Napoli looked like they were stumbling at the final hurdle, but the main talking point of this match was Carlos Tevez, seen talking to Mr Drezzy and Diego Maradona

This was a very tense game, but a moment of pure brilliance by unlikely man Sakho, Napoli had the lead. He weaved his way through their midfield, and finally their defence, before blasting home a brilliant individual goal.
Napoli kept on pressing and were rewarded for their hard work when Lavezzi scored a brilliant header. Aston villa were stunned.
Villa tried hitting back in the second half, but Napoli's defence stood tall, with Napoli grabbing the win, 2-0
