The First Game Under Mr Drezzy

Napoli 5-1 Catania

Lucas (13), Cavani (21, 42, 82), Lavezzi (50)

Maldonado (85)

napoli-catania.jpg

Today saw the dawn of a new age at Napoli, as Mr Drezzy took charge today. And they responded very well, Lucas hitting the first goal, a shot from 13 yards out, just after the ten minute mark. Napoli continued to steam roll Catania, with Cavani scoring a header to make it 2-0. Cavani then made it 3-0 just before half time, tapping in a deflected shot.
After the break, Napoli came out all guns firing, obviously trying to impress their new manager. 5 minutes after the break, Lavezzi made it four, rounding off a superb move, Hamsik the creator. The Cavani made it five, with his third of the game, nut megging the keeper after a Hamsik through ball
Martin Fulop though gave away a silly goal, coming out to collect a cross, but fumbling the ball, leaving a gaping goal open for Maldonado to score, but ti didn't matter, Napoli had run out 5-1 winners

Mr Drezzy had to be impressed with the start his team made, keeping the gap at the top to three points

After the Napoli game, New Manager Mr Drezzy confirmed he would also coach the Nigerian national team.
He did have to laugh though, saying he received an email from a Nigerian prince. At first, he thought it was a scam until the Napoli board told him about the job offer.

Lazio 1-5 Napoli

Floccari (36)

Hamsik (pen 9, 77), Cavani (61), Badelj (63), Rodriguez (87)

lazio_napoli.jpg

Another impressive display from Napoli, totally shredding Lazio to bits. It was Hamsik penalty that gave Napoli the lead. Napoli were great, but Floccari madaged to draw the game level, with a wonder strike.
It was 1-1 at half time, Napoli missing many chances. And the second half started the same way. But it was Cavani he added the second on 61 minutes, drilling in a cross from Rodriguez. just 2 minutes later, Badelj scored a header to put Napoli in the drivers seat. Things went from bad to worse for Lazio on 77 minutes, when their keeper let the ball slip under him, from a weak Hamsik shot, Napoli led 4-1. Napoli then smashed the nail into the Lazi coffin when Rodriguez headed home the fifth. Napoli win 5-1, for the second game in a row

2010_11_14-2010_11_14_8_50_56-jpg-41007.jpg

Mr Drezzy's great tactical knowledge was on show for all to see in the second half, With Napoli ripping Lazio to shreds, they didn't have an answer. Things look good for Napoli, with Diego Maradona arriving tomorrow

Undercover Journalist records secret conversation between Drezzy and Maradona

napoli+training.jpg

Today, Sky Sports Italia broke to the world a recording of Diego Maradona's arrival at Napoli, his first talk with Mr Drezzy
In the conversation, Mr Drezzy was heard welcoming Diego to Napoli. Diego said he was so pleased to be back, and then they went on to talk about the shooting situation. Diego went on to say that he never meant to pull the trigger, if he had intended to kill Mr Drezzy, he would have gone for the head. Mr Drezzy said he knew, and he said by gones were by gones. He said to Diego, that if he hadn't called the emergency services, then he could have ended up dead
Diego then went on to add that he couldn't cope with the pressure on that day, and just wanted to scare Mr Drezzy, and he didn't know the gun was loaded....
When Mr Drezzy asked where he had got the gun from, Diego Maradona revealed the name.....but the recording cut out

Napoli 2-1 Genoa

Rodriguez (9), Quagliarella (46)

Dainelli (88)

120_large.jpg

Napoli looked to continue their fine form against Champions Genoa today. napoli got off to a flying start against the misfiring Genoa, with a lovely left footed strike from Maxi Rodriguez. How ever, Genoa were solid at the back, and looked good going forward, but they just couldn't find the net.
In the second half, substitute Quagliarella nodded home 1 minute in, to give Napoli a 2-0 lead. But it was Genoa who mastered the second half, with Fulop denying them on many occasions. At the death, Dainelli scooped home a free kick, just out side of the area, to give the visitors some hope but it came too late for them, Napoli hold on to win 2-1

Napoli secured the points today, but did come close to losing them. Mr Drezzy and Maradona seemed to get on very well on the touch line too

Speaking to world press today, Ortega's mum said she was devastated at her sons arrest. She said that when Ortega left River, he was disgusted that a Boca manager was put in charge. She said he couldn't handle some one from their arch rivals running things but she didn't believe he would have duped Maradona into shooting Mr Drezzy, let alone supply the weapon

Niger 2-5 Nigeria

Moussa Maazou (21), Oumarou (32)

Brown (12, 47, 76), Odemwingie 961), Akabueze (63)

General_Kountche.jpg

Today Mr Drezzy took charge of the Nigerian team for the first time. But it wasn't plain sailing, because Niger went into the break 2-1 to the good. How ever, a harsh team tall changed all that, with Nigeria scoring 4 in the second half.

Mr Drezzy was in no mood to talk, he was very unimpressed with the first half display

Fiorentina 1-0 Napoli

Ljajic (27)

18369260:jpeg_preview_medium.jpg

This was a very defensive game, with no clear cut chances. It would take something special to win this match, and it came from Ljajic on 27 minutes, volleying home a wonder goal from 30 yards out. It was enough to beat a baffled Napoli

12831212889P0bTp.jpg

Mr Drezzy got his first taste of Italian Defensive excellence today, and it was something he could come to terms with. He had some work to do, along with Maradona

UEFA Europa Cup 1st k/o round, 1st leg

Napoli 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Cavani (47), Lucas (62)

Aguero (38)

46116-europa_league_napoli_vs_liverpool_result.jpg

Napoli were poor in the first half, looking to catch Madrid on the counter attack, but it never happened. Madrid looked good coming forward, missing by just inches several times. On 38 minutes, Sergio Aguero gave Atletico Madrid the lead, and a vital away goal, with a fantastic shot from just out side the area.
Mr Drezzy must have put a rocket up Napoli, as they came out looking hungry, and scored 3 minutes in, with Cavani heading home, from a Lucas cross. Lucas had just come on and already looked good.
it was Lucas who gave Napoli the lead, with an in swinging free kick that beat every one. Napoli should have scored a third with Cavani heading home again, but he was deemed off side.
Napoli have the slight advantage in the tie, winning 2-1

napoli take a slender lead into the 2nd leg, having played very well in the second half

A.C Milan 4-1 Napoli

Pato (4, 16, 71), Paloschi (13)

Lavezzi (58)

AC_Milan_Vs_Napoli__1-1__All_Goals___Full_Highlights_-_21_03_10__720p_.flv.jpg

Napoli played extremely poor in the opening half an hour, which cost the the match.
Napoli were the first to attack, but Milan hit them on the counter, with Pato heading home an Astori cross to give Milan the lead on 4 minutes. Milan were in their stride and on 13 minutes, Alberto Paloschi volleyed home inside the area, Napoli were sinking.
Then 3 minutes later, Pato scored his second, this time a left footed strike beating the out stretching keeper. But it was Napoli who looked the more threatening on the half an hour mark, when they should have at least scored two but they couldn't find the net.
It was Napoli who looked the better side in the second half, but again couldn't find the net. Lavezzi gave them some hope, tapping in a fumbled ball but it was Pato and Milan who had the last laugh, with Pato scoring with his right, with a wicked volley. Milan win 4-1

Diego Maradona and Mr Drezzy looked extremely angry after this result, no Doubt Napoli will be in for extra training this week

Atletico sack Wenger

atletico-madrid-logo.jpg

After struggling in La Liga, currently in 11th place, Atletico Madrid have sacked Arsene Wenger and they have Highlighted Mr Drezzy as their ideal replacement.
How ever, Mr Drezzy has issued a statement saying he is not interested in the job, and that it is very strange that Wenger was sacked on the eve of their Europa Cup clash

Atletico Madrid (1)1-4(2) Napoli

Aguero (26)

Rodriguez (21), Cavani (31), Lavezzi (75), Lucas (87)

ATMadvert.jpg

Atletico needed to score today, but they defended deep, looking to catch us on the counter attack, trying to replicate what Milan had done to Napoli a few days earlier.
And they looked good doing it, how ever, they defended too deep and Napoli scored on 21 minutes, Rodriguez chesting the ball down and smashing it into the top right hand corner.
Atletico had to attack, and they did, scoring on 26 with a fantastic Aguero goal. But as they looked for a second, Napoli broke, and Cavani headed home. Atletico now needed a miracle.
Atletico kept attacking but couldn't finish, Napoli were now happy to defend. On 75 minutes, Lavezzi putting the game beyond Atletico. 3-1 to Napoli, but the scoring wasn't over, with Lucas grabbing a goal after a free kick on 87 minutes.
Napoli win 4-1 on the night, 6-2 on aggregate

Cavani_Canna.jpg

The last time Mr Drezzy was in the Europa League, back in 2009, he won the competition with MSK Zilina. Now Napoli were a step closer to doing the exact same thing

Napoli 4-2 Chievo

Quagliarella (1), Kenia (35), Cavani (40, 57)

Pellissier (54), Rigoni (85)

19437944:jpeg_preview_large.jpg

Napoli killed of Chievo in the first half with some fantastic team goals and team play. Napoli resisted the temptation to go for more in the second half, but Cavani added his second on 57. But in the last ten minutes, there was a mini Chievo fight back, how ever, it proved to be too little too late.

SSC+Napoli+v+AC+Chievo+Verona+Serie+anLAqmGu3-Sl.jpg

Napoli gained 3 more points today, which is just what they needed after the game against Milan. Roma, though, have also started to drop points, finding themselves 7 points behind leaders Napoli
