Well, Me and Mr Bodell have broken up from school. And due to us leaving school. There should be 6 weeks of Updates. :D
 
Saturday, 2ND Of July.​

Today, was a special day. The day i could sign for Coventry City or Portsmouth. We had to get up early due to going 72 miles north then possibly south to Portsmouth. We set of at 7AM planning to be in the north by Lunchtime. When we got the kids up at 6:30, they were groaning and moaning, even though me & Jessica woke up at 5:30. We got the kids ready, and set on our way. 20 Minutes into the drive Steven, my son said he was bored. So we stopped at Blockbusters in Swindon so they could watch it in the Car TV in the back seats. No surprises that they picked probably the most expensive one in the shop. My other son, Tobe, stayed in the car, as i gave him my laptop and he was playing Football Manager. When we got back, i put in the DVD and we set on our travels again. 30 miles later, Jessica needed to go to the toilet. So against my will, we stopped off again at a close-by Little Chief. We spent 10 minutes there at it looked rather unlikely we'd get to Coventry by Lunch. When we set off from little chief we were 28 Miles to go.

When we got there, an hour and a half late, there were some people waiting for us in the car park. My wife & Kids all got out the car and decided to take a tour of the stadium instead of coming in with me. The guys waiting for me in the car park gave me a tour of inside the stadium. I saw the Managers room, pitch, boot room. After all that, he lead me into the Board room where there were 3 people behind a desk, just like when Salisbury sacked me. I took a seat and must have had a chat about my plans to do with the club. After a very long hour, to my Joy, they offered me the job. They said they'd like me to be on a One Year contract. If i did well in that year, they'd extend it for another 3. I asked them to wait 10 minutes so i can talk to my wife and kids. They accepted.

I stepped outside the stadium, walked to the car, and had a word with the Wife & Co. We all came up with 3 Questions; Where would we stay?, Where could my kids go to school? & How much will i be payed?. So after about, An hour and a half of negotiations, i was ready to talk about the family life, then finally accept. The same 2 people who gave me a tour of the ground came out to the car and lead me back to the board room where the negotiations would carry on from before.

I asked the three questions to them, and they said i'd stay in a hotel tonight, and they'd get me a very nice house tomorrow. My kids would go to the best school in the city which starts in 8 weeks time. And my salary would be 7.5 Grand a week. I was finally willing to sign on the dotted line. We went through all the contract with me and i was happy to sign it. I signed it then told them that i had received an offer the other week that i delayed. They were glad that i signed for them, and went off to find me a hotel, Leaving me to break the news to my friends, family and Portsmouth.

I stepped outside for the 2ND time to ring up Portsmouth to tell them i had signed for Coventry. I told them, and to my surprise they were happy for me and wished me all the best. I then went to tell the Family that i had signed for 7.5 Grand a week and they'd put us in a hotel tonight. Lastly, was to tell the Friends & Parents. I rang the parents first and they were absolutely chuffed for me. The friends were very unhappy to see us move over 70 Miles away, but i told them we'd come and visit atleast once a month and they grew on the idea and wished me the best.

It just comes to show that in the space of 4 weeks, you can be unemployed and not even have your Dad giving you a job, to become the manager of one of the biggest clubs in the second division of England.

I can't wait to see tomorrows websites and Newspapers.

woot good work jonesy babe :wub: i love seeing the newspapers when i sign for a club on fifa and fm, makes me happy :D very detailed, good job, think you could give us a pic of your wife? ;)
good luck with coventry, im sure you'll be able to 'clinch promotion' ;) or close enough :D
 
Brilliant update mate. Just one thing, it says: "I rang Portsmouth to tell them I had signed for Coventry" Isn't it meant to be the other way around? Or am I just being dense?

noo, he was either going to going to sign for coventry and or portsmouth, went to portsmouth liked it, joined them instead of portsmouth, so he called them and told them he had joined coventry so he cant join portsmouth. simples ;)
 
Sorry about the lack of updates on my behalf guys. I've had a very busy weekend, and will be updating tomorow before football training. So please keep an eye out for my update
