Bolton FC - Through The Eyes of a Wanderer

November

English Premier League Fixture 12 – Portsmouth AWAY

Portsmouth FC 2 Bolton FC 2 (
Kevin Davies 21, Lee Chung-Yong 33)

View attachment 17177

Heart breaking to concede a last minute penalty after such a good display. We deserved to win and it’s an individual error which has cost us the three points. The positives are Lee Chung-Yong’s strong performance and the creativity we showed.

MoM: Kevin Davies – 7.6

English Premier League Fixture 13 – Everton HOME

Bolton FC 1 (Kevin Davies 51) Everton 1

View attachment 17173

Tight game that could have gone either way, we can’t seem to hold our leads and this is costing us the win in a lot of games. We are becoming the draw specialists, if we were finishing our chances we’d be doing extremely well.

MoM: Kevin Davies– 7.5
English Premier League Fixture 14 – Man City HOME

Bolton FC 3 (
Klasnic pen 4, 34, Kevin Davies 26) Man City 1

View attachment 17174

Amazing performance against the league leaders Man City, especially after them taking the lead a minute in. They had won 11 out of 12 prior to this game only losing once before, so to beat them in such convincing fashion is fantastic for the club and shows we have a hard working talented group of players here.

MoM: Ivan Klasnic – 8.2

English Premier League Fixture 15 Aston Villa AWAY

Aston Villa 1 Bolton FC 1 (Klasnic 54)

View attachment 17172

Decent performance away from home, we made it very difficult for them in the middle of the park, we closed them down very quickly, and our deep defensive line neutralized their threat, maybe on another day we could have nicked it at the end.

MoM: Gary Cahill - 7.5

Monthly Round Up

The little midfielder has wowed fans and the media alike with a string of very strong performances over the course of the month. He was given the Barclays Premier League Player Of The Month Award.

We’ve drawn 3 games this month and it seems we are the draw specialists but the win against Man City showed a lot of positives, there is a lot of potential in this team. Kevin Davies and Ivan Klasnic have been doing well when they pay up front, Elmanders form has somewhat dipped and Gavin McCann and Mark Davies are doing well in the midfield as are our two CBs.

horrible preseason, but many good results after that, some unlucky defeats tough

Good luck and well done mate. I'll be following. And great win vs Chelsea and Man City (Scum). :D

keep it up, how u doing so good, and of course city are top lol

thanks for following lads :)

since I was given no money I decided to make the best of what I had and Bolton's squad isn't bad, needs a lot of work though I wont lie. I play a very defensive/disruptive formation and change m strategies depending on the opposition. My team is very hard to break down but we dnt score as many sometimes, it works okay though.

December

After an impressive November this is an absolutely massive month for us, we have a lot of games so its vital we do well. We need to try and turn some of these draws in to wins and we could well be in business this season, we just need to carry on the way we are and not get complacent.

League Cup Quarter Final – Portsmouth HOME

Bolton FC 2 (Kevin Davies 37, 57) Portsmouth 1

View attachment 17419

It was good to get the game out of the way and we took advantage of getting a home draw. We looked comfortable throughout the game and Kevin (Davies) used his strength and awareness very well for both goals, brilliant impact from the bench.

MoM: Kevin Davies – 8.7

English Premier League Fixture 16 – Blackburn Rovers AWAY

Blackburn Rovers 1 Bolton FC 2 (Johan Elamnder 18, 21)

View attachment 17417

We rode our luck today but both the goals were great pieces ofplay with Johan (Elmander) finishing them both off brilliantly, we’re quietly gaining momentum with the quality and results of our performances of late. We showed great nerve to dig in deep and hold on for the win.

MoM: Johan Elmander– 8.4

English Premier League Fixture 17 – Arsenal HOME

Bolton FC 1 (Mark Davies 16) Arsenal 1

View attachment 17418

A very good, determined performance from us today and they didn’t create much due to the aggressive nature of our play. We hassled them and they couldn’t do much. Their goal was an unfortunate own goal but a point is still ok even though were disappointed not to get all three.

MoM: Mark Davies– 7.4

English Premier League Fixture 18 – Wigan HOME

Bolton FC 3 (Kevin Davies 9, 18, Klasnic 87) Wigan 1

View attachment 17421

Brilliant performance on what could have turned out so bad after Johan Elmander gets sent off 3 minutes in. But even from there we dominated until the end and fully deserved our win. I’m very proud of the lads today, we beat Man City being down to 10 men, and we’ve done it in the exact same way today. Gretar (Steinsson) was brilliant and used his great crossing ability to get himself 2 assists.

MoM: Kevin Davies – 8.7

English Premier League Fixture 19 – Fulham AWAY

Fulham 0 Bolton FC 1 (Mark Davies 80)

View attachment 17438

A great away with that could have gone either way but we did create more clear-cut chances whilst they were restricted to long shots. We stuck to our game plan and Mark (Davies) wonderful strike has given us the win

MoM: Mark Davies – 7.7

English Premier League Fixture 20 – Liverpool AWAY

Liverpool 2 Bolton FC 0

View attachment 17439

Our poorest display in a long time, we never got close enough to them and let them control the game. It’s our first league defeat in 11 games so it’s put an end to a very good run but we have to pick ourselves up for the next game.

MoM: Jussi Jasskelainen – 7.2

English Premier League Fixture 21 – Sunderland HOME

Bolton FC 0 Sunderland 0

View attachment 17420

It’s hard to take. We controlled long periods of the game and went back to our old selves and just couldn’t take the chances we created. On another day we could have won 3-0 but it was not to be today.

MoM: Nicky Hunt – 7.3

English Premier League Fixture 22 – Stoke City AWAY

Stoke City 1 Bolton FC 4 (Basham 5, Lee Chung-Yong 11, Matty Taylor 45 + 1, 48*)

View attachment 17440

Fantastic performance, we played in the same vein against Sunderland so it’s nice to have won by a good margin today and prove we should have beaten Sunderland like this as well. We just took our chances today.

MoM: Matty Taylor – 8.7

Monthly Round-Up

Player Of The Month: Kevin Davies

View attachment 17416

He’s been in great form scoring 5 goals this month and just generally having a big influence in our games and in the goals we score.

View attachment 17437

I’m pleased this month. Besides the loss to Liverpool it was 3 league draws and 4 league wins. We also are in the semi finals of the League Cup which has been a very enjoyable bonus which maybe we could turn into something.

great job mate KUTGW!!

btw, you seem to get an injury or sending off every match, maybe going for a more cautious tackling approach woud benefit you?

Good results there mate, but why on the screenshotss, is it like the the team badges at the top of the shot is the team your playin next. like it was arsenal - bolton but the pictures were bolton - west ham?

I dunno man it seems to be happen sometimes, luvkily I've seen it happen to quite a few other people but yeah its weird.

January

FA CUP 3rd Round – Man City HOME

Bolton FC 2 (Elmander 19, 45+2) Man City 1

View attachment 17779

We had to dig in deep and neutralize their threat which we did when we played them last. And we’ve managed to do it today so I’m delighted; we were dangerous on the break after soaking up their attacks.

MoM: Johan Elmander – 7.4

English League Cup Semi Final First Leg – Fulham HOME

Bolton FC 0 Fulham 1

View attachment 17798

We played terribly today and it’s a shame, we were at home and we’ve got a brilliant chance at a cup final and we’ve made it a lot harder for ourselves now.

MoM: Lee Chung-Yong – 7.3

English Premier League Fixture 23 – Man Utd HOME

Bolton FC 3 (Klasnic 19, 41, 82) Manchester United 3

View attachment 17780

Fantastic performance and again very unlucky not to win, Anderson grabbed a goal very late in for them so that was unfortunate but still very pleased with how well we played and Klasnic was a beast in their box.

MoM: Ivan Klasnic – 9.3

English Premier League Fixture 24 – Tottenham HOME

Bolton FC 0 Tottenham 0

View attachment 17781

An absolute bore draw, we just cancelled each other out the whole game I tried to put more pressure on their wings with our strength but we just didn’t get anywhere

MoM: Sam Ricketts – 7.3

English League Cup Semi Final First Leg – Fulham AWAY

Fulham 0 Bolton FC 2 (Kevin Davies 52, Andy O’Brien 77)

View attachment 17786

Good second half performance has sent us through to Wembley! We’re very delighted, we knew this was a massive chance and we took advantage of that in the second half, and as Andy (O’Brien) does sometimes, he popped up and nodded it in from the corner.

MoM: Andy O’Brien – 8.1

FA CUP 4rd Round Rep – Burnley HOME

Bolton FC 2 (Kevin Davies 37, Muamba 77) Burnley 0

View attachment 17799

After the awful 0-0 at their ground, I’m pleased because we just wanted to get them game ut of the way, and we’ve done it fairly comfortably.

MoM: Fabrice Muamba – 7.7

Neeson Wheels & Deals

Bolton boss Dean Neeson has looked to stabilize the squad further for next season if there is a lack of funds by snapping up Italian midfielder Manuele Biasi, and also bolstering his attacking options and defensive options by signing Egyptian hitman Amr Zaki and Argentina internation Nicolar Burdisso. All three have signed on pre contract agreements and will join the club in 6 months time.

Bolton have also completed the loan signing of young brazlian striker Marquinhos for a fee of around 300K. Tamir Cohen was out the other way leaving for Coventry after a fee of 700K was agreed.

English Premier League Fixture 25 – Burnley AWAY

Burnley 3 Bolton FC 4 (Ivan Klasnic 45, 82, Marquinhos 60, 80)

View attachment 17783

Unbelievable comeback being 3-1 down with 25 minutes to go. We produced a brilliant turn around after we upped our tempo and put them under more pressure. And the bonus is young Marquinhos scores a brace on his debut.

MoM: Ivan Klasnic – 8.5

Monthly Round-Up

Player Of The Month: Ivan Klasnic
Klasnic has been in great form for us netting 5 leagues in the month, with a superb hat-rick against Man Utd. He’s been a very good loan signing even though he is prone to go missing and have a shocker.

View attachment 17785

Brilliant month, won in the FA cup 3rd and 4th round so we’re pleased. We’ve beat Fulham in the semi final of the League Cup and we’re going to Wembley so that’s brilliant for the club. And to round it off, 2 league wins and 2 league draws, which is good form. Bring on February!

well done mate, burdisso will be well good for you

I've just finished my first season. And I will be posting a season overview up tomorrow, just so you know where I finish and how the league cup final went.

2009/2010

We made a very good late surge towards the end of the season and Maqruinhos was a delightful little player scoring 6 goals, 2 assists in 10 appearances 6 being off the bench.

We won the League Cup :D

View attachment 17824

And did extremely well in the EPL finishing 7th with 63 points and only losing 7 times :D

View attachment 17823

I'm really proud of what we achieved as we spent no money at all except for the 325K for Marquinhos loan deal.

2010/2011

Budget: 11.75M

I chose a top half finish because I wanted to be realistic with what we could achieve with the squad, and its going to take some task beating last seasons performance. I wanted to change a lot of the squad because I felt with the addition of the europa league into our schedule, the current formation though extremely successful would not work with the ammount of players we had in the positions. That's why I've chosen a far more narrow one this time.

View attachment 17827

Please note the Robinson deal is done already when you arrive at Bolton so that was not my signing. And this is so far, I will be updating this soon
