Just been reading through, and abseloutely smashing work mate, to take a team low in League One to the Premiership is always a great achievement, and attracting some of the players you have, I'm very impressed with your work!
Off the back of our most succesful season I am feeing the weight of expectations for the first time in my career and it's different. There is a lot of pressure on us to better last season which will be hard but I have alot of faith in my squad.
I will continue to use the diamond with the two wing backs overlapping for the width. We have used that since we've got into the league and I'm confident it will work with a few tweaks.
What a fantastic way for us to get the win. One of the hardest places to come to in the league and we've pulled off a shock win. Good work down the middle put Rhys Murphy through and he slotted in to put us ahead early on. We played it out but they equalised 10 minutes into the second half through a great strike. Thankfully we got a deserved penalty and Diego Renan cooly stepped up to smash it home.
Europa League 4th Qual Leg 1 - IFK Goteborg (Away)
We controlled large periods of the game and were definately deserved winners today. Rhys Murphy scored a superb volley early on but we created easier chances that we just kept missing. Still we have the away goal which is important and we can focus on finishing the job at Griffin Park.
Europa League 4th Qual Leg 2 - IFK Goteborg (Home)
Fantastic performance in front of the fans today. Goalscorers across the board for us and to thump a team in this way early on is a great feeling. Bring on the group stage.
Villa are always tough and it was nodifferent today. They were very tight at the back and were closing us down all over the field. We deserved a goal for our pure persistance and it finall came on the hour mark with Tomas Necid using his strength before slamming it home from 15 yards.
September
We have been given an interesting yet tough Europa League group consisting of Bayern Munich, Apoel Nicosia, and Panathinaikos. I'm sure the lads will enjoy the trips to Germany, Greece and Cyprus. We kick things off at home to Panathinaikos.
Another extremely difficult game for us today. Hull just kept knocking it back and defending which made it hard for us. They sat so deep and were playing extremely narrow so it was difficult to navigate a way through. They kept chasing us and their tired legs began to show late on which allowed Diego Renan to pass it home completing an excellent team move very late on.
Europa League Group K Fixture 1 - Panathinaikos (Home)
I know if we are going to have a chance of qualifying from this group we need to win our home games and I am delighted with the performance we put in today. We looked assured all game and never looked troubled. Rhys Murphy scored a trademark strike 20 minutes into the game before Captain Darnel Situ put the cherry on the cake with 2 minutes to go.
Very dramatic game that we made alot harder than it needed to be. We were great in the first half and went ahead through Tomas Necid. We controlled it after that and again we did not put away our chances. We almost paid for it when they equalised but we got a huge strike of luck with Anthony Vanden Borre's strike taking a MASSIVE deflection before hitting the back of the net 92 minutes into the game.
Comfortable. Marcus Bergscored his first goal for the club just 10 minutes in setting us on our way and we dominated the game after that. Rhys Murphy continued to terrorize and got a goal either side of the half for his efforts.
Their squad is insane and we just could not cope with their attacking talents today. We mustered an equaliser 5 minutes after they went ahead through Vincenzo Rennella but they continued to dominate and we go home well beaten. Dissapointing way to end a great couple of months.
August/September Overview
I am delighted with the progress we have made. We won 4 leagues cames including the win at Stamford Bridge. Our defence has been ultra sound and this is why we have safely qualified for the Europa League and won our first group match.
If we keep our discipline and work ethic there is no reason why we cannot continue this form despite our squad not being as strong in depth as many other teams. Our team is gelling and settling now and we are very well balanced across the pitch which is great. It seems things only get better for us and that is all down to hard work.
One word, HOW? How seriously can you do this? its amazing! XD great reports and great results, sounded like you couldn't do anything about the City result, but other a strong set of results, keep up the great work
Thanks mate it's been a long hard slog at times but I've managed to get myself on most of my players favoured personnel and they seem to be performing for me
We opened the season with a great couple of months which is nice as we have shown before starting well provides a platform for the season. Since we're playing in Europe we have alot of fixtues this season and it's really going to test us.
Europa League Group K Fixture 2 - APOEL Nicosia (Away)
A fantastic performance which really have given us a chance of qualifying. To get such a good result away from home shows much the lads have improved. Tomas Necid headed us ahead under 5 minutes before £20M man Jano Ananidze smashed it low and hard to make it 2-0. Necid killed the game off quick into the second half before Javi Garcia scored THE BEST GOAL I have seen in an extremely long time.
Very tough game for us here and Tottenham battled very hard. We were lethargic in attack and invited alot of pressure onto our defence. Not acceptable with the ambitions we have this year and will be better in the next game.
Big derby for us and it was a very heated affair with lots of tackles going about. It was hard to get a good rhythm to our play but once Tomas Necid put us ahead they got very deflated and weren't threatening. Towards the end we caught them on the break and Tomas Necid put the final touches on a good derby win. Great brace for the big man.
Europa League Group K Fixture 3 - Bayern Munich (Away)
They were too much for us today and attacked from go which resulted in them racing into a 2-0 lead. Jano Ananidze pulled one back but it did nothing to derail them.
A great game of football with both going for the win from the offset. Big Tomas Necid continued his great form putting us ahead early which gave us a good foothold in the match. They came at us alittle bit but I was sure we were comfortable until an unfortunate Helan own goal. Thankfully the lads responded in the typical Brentford way and Rhys Murphy popped deep into stoppage time to give us a dramatic victory.
Very hard to take as we won this last year but we were given a very hard draw against a team we really struggle to beat. It's a shame we couldn't defend our trophy. Man City dissapoint us at the end of the month again.
October Overview
It's been a decent month for us with 2 wins and 1 defeat in the league. Despite losing to Bayern Munich we are safely positioned 2nd in the Europa League group. The most dissapointing thing was the Carling Cup loss to City.
