Got Barnsley fron league 1 to championship via play offs with my own formation, started to use this 1st season in champ, side was mainly free transfers and loads and lost in play off final to Cardiff 2-0. Following season finished 2nd, had a bit of money to play with but no more than 2m.. Just finished season in prem and finished 14th.. Would post screenshots but it's late and i can't be bothered.. I loved your tactic on 14 Callamity and although this one may need work (not sure if it does or not) it's worked really well for me so far! Nice simple tactic that plays good football, good work mate

are the opposition instructions already included in the tactic or do i have to make my assistant manager set them at each match before kick off? Cheers

Use assistant manager for them mate. thats what i do at any level

This tactic worked brilliantly for the first half of the season for me in Conference South but then in the second half and particularly the playoffs it just got destroyed at every turn. Are OI's necessary every game at that level or is it just a case of player quality since I've been stuck with the original team?

It might be that your team has just run out of steam they play alot of gaames at that level. I always use OI's

Sjaarti - what do you do with Ross Barkley when he's fit and are you finding Bryan Oviedo the best winger? My midf is McCarthy (DM) Barry (LCM) Osman (RCM) - Mirallas is really struggling on the right wing - he misses a lot of chances.

I'd use Barkley as cm(a) and keep mirallas on right wing, train them to play in the positions, give them time they will be fantastic players.

I might not follow up with updates on this at this time..
I have a different tactic I've been trying

can u send me that tactic :) i will help you tweak it :)

Has worked well so far for me. Seems long balls over the top can hurt the defense, but that looks more like a ME thing than tactical. My striker likes to take a ton of long shots, which can be annoying.

trying your possession tactic right now with everton in first season(yes i know it isnt final so i'll obviously not complain about anything, well i don't have a bad thing to say atm though)
win 2-1 against southampton at home (62% possession) and then beat 3-1 man city away (down to 10 since 55' it was 3-0 at half time)
But what was impressing is the fact that i had TONS of injured players (Barry,Lukaku,Etoo,Barkley,Pienaar,Kone,Oviedo ...) Mirallas was my third choice in striker position and he scored a hat trick against man city ^^)
I'm looking forward to the next games
(sorry for my bad english, ain't a native speaker)

My Everton side also had dreadful injuries - as in 9 or 10 first team players out for a month plus.
Thanks for your earlier suggestions, Calamity.

Haha, until I saw your last reply...

Using the possession tactic at the moment and a suggestion is to add the instruction "sit narrow" for the IF & the wide AP. I have seen it keeps them closer to the play when the ball is coming through the middle, and gives them the option of going wide or running through the middle.

Funny you should say about the above, I've had a few attempts at creating a tactic and all have failed, we know the beta is bug ridden at the moment, but well done on being able to throw something together that quick.

It would be great to keep working on your possession tactic, as I love the play and dominating the ball.

Good stuff mate.

xD sorry mate, I didnt mean to put anyone down if creating your own tactics isnt working. I've just tried 3 of the things I wanted to so far and all three have worked to some degree. Obviously they arent perfect but Champions league qualification with QPR is kinda decent. Although there is another post of other people achieving similar things in the players section. So maybe I underestimated the team
