The contact isn't the point, it's clear there was some. It's the fact that Smalling could not have got out the way, Zhirkov just ran straight into his leg after losing the ball.

But surely if he was on route to goal and Smalling is stood in his way and makes contact the ref has no choice but too award a penalty.

Terrible decision by Vidic, Man utd need him for Anfield silly silly boy. definite pull of the shirt / shorts and the shove on drogba sortly before.

Finally Vidic sent off for that. Always grabbing players shirts in the box and everywhere, I know loads of defenders do it.. but at last he is sent off. Now John Terry has to get sent off for it.
