Cricket

I come onto this thread hoping to find some news about the sport buts it always you with pics of bats and stuff. It just depresses me that I never get in for long enough to enjoy using a good bat QQ

Buy some nice shoes and sunglasses then so you can pose when you field, that's what I do..

I dunno, your hair style may need updating, unless you are actually going for a late 90's bowl cut?! ;)

In other news, good to see the Aussies bowling attack looking more & more pedestrian, bodes well for the Ashes. Reckon even i could be an Aussie test spinner, i've only got an array of ***** armballs too!

Great performance from Indians. Cook's innings was class, part from him and Prior rest all looked average. KP and his struggle against left are spinners continues (now watch him score 150 in next match :( )

Ojha bowled really well and I was impressed very much with Umesh Yadav.

We are going to play 6 spinners in the 2nd test now..

All you need is 9 spinners, 1 Cook and 1 Prior ;)

I think Monty will be playing for sure, he is someone who can cause few problems.

Not sure about Mumbai pitch, but if we prepare anywhere near the one we prepared against Aussies few years back, match will be over in 3 days (like it was over back then in 3 days).

4th Test: India v Australia at Mumbai, Nov 3-5, 2004 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Yeah Monty will deffo be playing I suspect. Hopefully drop Bresnan. You will win, with ease, again, I imagine.

If England play anything like they did in 2nd innings then they can get result. Again it all depends on pitch, I'm expecting slow, very spinners friendly wicket. I mean more than usual.

I find cricket to be the only game where being the home side is really a tremendous advantage in Tests. Other sports yes it is an advantage but definitely not the extent in cricket

Well, we still had many failures in the 2nd innings, if it wasn't for Cook and Prior we would have been ******. Need other players to pick up the form too, cant just rely on 2 players playing well.

I would of picked Bairstow ahead of Bell who is just absolutely clueless on these kind of pitches. Also obviously Panesar should of been in.

Bell will be missing next game anyway, and I think it's a toss up between Bairstow and Morgan. I hope we drop: Broad, Patel, Bresnan and Bell and bring in Morgan, Bairstow, Monty and Finn. Broad is appalling in India, his bowling and batting stats are woeful. I might even say leave Bresnan in as he can bat, and leave Finn out, but either way I would like to get rid of Broad.

I just can't see Broad being dropped though as he is the vice-captain... this is why selectors are hopeless! No balls!

Shouldn't keep a player in the team for the sake of keeping him in the team, it's pointless. It's not like he's amazing anyway.

Had a LOT of cash riding on a spread bet on Priors total runs from both innings. The line was only a 58 so i lumped on. Big profit but i would have loved him to get a big ton 2nd innings, that really would have been a nice win, maybe even financed my new Laver and Wood bat.

Perhaps but I would say that the last few tests between the best nations have proven this to be not the case anymore, South Africa dominated England before weathering a storm in Australia only to decimate them in Perth, all of this happened away. Englands recent performance in India was really good and made the Indian's feel completely uncomfortable in their own backyard. South Africa hasn't lost away from home since 2006 or something ridiculous, players are becoming far better at coping in foreign environments.

Also speaking of that test match in perth did anyone watch that superb innings by Amla at Perth in the series between SA and Aus? Entertaining and he completely wrecked Australia fantastic to watch and I enjoyed it tremendously, living in Australia and watching my home country wreck them, there is no greater joy in life :p

Watched a very young South African team beating the pants off the Kiwi's in a T20 match this past Friday (21/12/2012). Cannot wait today for the 2nd T20.
