Heraths catch, in case anyone missed it.

Had my second net session of the season last night, finally got bowled, by some lad in our club, was taking the **** and tried to do a french cricket shot with my legs as wide as possible, didn't end well.

Managed to his some nice switch hits and sweeps/slog sweeps off the spinners, and was managing to drive, cut and pull the quickies quite easily, no doubt down to my new monster bat from Jake. :)

Anyone else watching the cricket in NZ at the moment?

Love test match cricket so much :D

100th 100 for Sachin. Great great moment. Finally we can have our old Sachin back with monkey off his back.

So just like I said on page 8, his degree of movement when straightening his arm is way more than the 5 degree limit that was in the rules until the spineless ICC caved in and decided to move the goalposts to accommodate cheats like him and murali.

I also said that the tests are open to abuse, which they are, you simply change your action when you visit Western Australia to undergo the test. Then you put your long sleeve shirt back on and continue bowling illegal deliveries in test cricket. Unless you throw it javelin style down the track, you can't get called during a game anymore.

What about Herath's action? :D

Also, I have read somewhere that the ICC do not just base their decisions on the test that the player undergoes, they look at footage of the player's action as well.

Graeme Smith is the best Captain in test Cricket right now imo, add to that he's a superb (albeit unconventional) opening bat.

Jaques Kallis is one of the best all rounders ever

Mark Boucher is the best keeper/batsman in the world right now (only Gilchrist was better, but he didnt have the longevity, he is on the verge of 1000 international wicket keeping dismissals which is unbeleivable)

AB De Villiers is a technically beautiful batsman with the mentality and skill to adapt to all forms of the game.

Amla, Rudolph, Petersen and Duminy arent too shabby with the bat either.

On the other side of things, they have the most beatifully balanced bowling attack in world cricket.

Steyn, Philander, Morkel and de Lange or Tahir depending on the wicket/conditions is an attack that has decimated NZ in this series. Kane Williamson battled his way to a well earned century, which is the first score above 70 for any NZ player in this series, well bowled SA.

Unless England have an incredible summer, reminiscent of 2005 ashes, SA are going to rape us.

Also re: Ajmal. Yes they have the option to look at the footage during the game, but as Ajmal and many other cheats insist on bowling in long sleeve shirts, this footage is incomparable with the data from the ICC tests in Western Australia.

Man I live in Australia now but Im a born and bred South African and to see someone else finally compliment our team (We have improved greatly in the past 4 years.) is a breath of fresh air, never hear it from an Australian, they are stuck in the golden generation frame of mind.

I think our pace attack is fantastic, Steyn is a great spearhead, Philander just seems to hit line and length with amazing accuracy ball after ball and Morkel provides Steyns pace however with that ever annoying bounce.

Its a good batting lineup that we have and Im enjoying seeing my team finally perform in all 3 aspects of the game! Cant wait to play England at in the UK, you guys maybe struggling atm however I feel you will be a different prospect at home!

Rankings dont lie. You are no.2 ranked test nation despite playing plenty of Cricket away from home recently, Australia will always live off that golden generation even despite the likes of Xavier Doerty playing test cricket...

SA v ENG is going to be a brilliant series, as i think England are a totally different prospect at home, and SA are superb in any conditions.

Yeah well I wouldnt take you guys lightly despite the problems against Pakistan and now Sri Lanka, England at home will be a great challenge.

On the topic of Gilchrest vs Boucher, I've always felt that Gilly was a better batsman and an Average glovesman (Never suggest that to an Australian, its blasphemy!) but Boucher for me has always been a superior glovesman, his batting took a dip in 2011 but his glovework has always been top notch.

SA always had great team but they missed something which is really unexplainable that stopped them from dominating world cricket. They were just too good at times but bottled at the important moments and not to forget the most unluckiest nation ever to have played this game.

Re your pace attack, best in the world without a question. Steyn and Morkel compliments so well, one attacking with full length swinging deliveries and other pushes batsmen on to back foot.

I loved your team in mid and late 90s though. Donald, Pollock, De Villiers, Brian Mcmillan and one of the best ever captain Cronje. Along with superb batsmen like Kirsten, Hudson, Cullinan. That was awesome team. I miss that team. Err, I missed out Klusener.

I loved the team of the 90's and you forgot my favourite player Jonty Rhodes! Yeah I suppose the only real difference between us and Australia was our lack of killer instinct although I would say they were more talented, but yeah horribly bad at stepping on the throat good to see us doing it these days, very entertaining was the 90's and also frustrating with it all culminating in that damned Semi-Final in 99, god dammit donald!

Just murder me for missing him. How did I? One of my fav player ever.

Yeah 1999 semi finals was bottling at its best. SA deserved it and Lance was just super human back then. Should have won that and also 1992 WC.

Well we certainly werent done by anything other then our own ability to self-destruct, so it was maddening to watch but deep down South Africans all knew the root problem was ourselves!

As a keeper myself, i appreciate Gillys glovework against Warne. At my club we have a spinner who was on the books at Nottinghamshire for 6 years. He turns it BIG both ways, and has an arm ball that swings away (the actions for all 3 deliveries are so similar that i'm only just starting to pick them having kept to him for the last 2 years) and it's incredibly hard to keep to. The objective of all great spinners is to confuse/deceive the batsman, which means unless you are a top gloveman you get deceived too, i know this from the numerous byes i conceded off him during his first 6 or so games lol.

I agree overall with your point though, Gilly on his day was probably the best aggressive batsman in the world, the T20 craze came 5 years too late for him, but Boucher is at least as talented with the gloves (and definitely more consistent, he hasn't made a mistkae with this gloves all series agaisnt NZ as far as i can tell) as well as being a quality international batsman.

1992, you didn't self destruct. Game was ruined by rain.

Let's see what Kirsten and Paddy Upton can do with this team at the next ODI and T20 World Cups.

Regarding the series win in New Zealand, I was very disappointed with the fielding in the last test, we really should have won the game.

Cannot wait to see Philander bowling in England though! :D

Oh yeah, lots of optimism with the Protea's atm, just hope it doesnt all come crashing down on me :(.

I thought Philander would of dropped off a bit but he just keeps decimating teams, whether it continues we will see (I obviously hope so!). I really cannot wait for the England series, I sense a classic series in the making, lets hope it lives up to the expectations!
