The tika taka tactic worked a treat! I had to go all out for this match and rested some key players in domestic games before the match and Santini was on fire grabbing his own hattrick and sealing a place in the Champions League Semi Finals with a 5-3 on aggregate win.

Re-soundly beaten at home as we go out of Europe with a whimper losing 8-1 on aggregate but i was just happy to reach this far. The draw played a massive part in this for us and i cant see us going this far with the current team in a fair few seasons.

Do you know what i have just realised is we didnt play in the Super Cup this year but that was because we won the Cup and League the season before they just say you won it but it doesnt get awarded to me as a manager! ****** so i wont be winning domestic trebles unless i purposely lose in the cup just to make it so which im really not going to do!

So we ended the season 22 points clear at the top of the table in the end but what i was more impressed with was the +39 goal difference we had over 2nd place Rijeka showing that we dominated so many teams.

So Bayern Munich won the Champions League this season but it was our amazing run that caught the eye of most people while Antolic who had an incredible campaign got the most assists with Messi yet again getting top goalscorer.

So after selling Beciraj last season i was worried that i would struggle for goals but i always remember the football manager Elmander not the real life one as he smashed in the goals for us finding the league just too easy.

He managed 30 goals himself this season despite being the second striker but has all but confirmed that he wants to leave in the summer but i believe that Santini will step up to the mark next season.

Pivaric beat him to top the assists charts for us this season but he did miss a large chunk of the season injured but when he did play he showed his quality with his highly polished performances and high average rating.

Players Out - Well i released about 15 players who were never going to make it with us and then probably loaned out another 20 to help with their development. Former club captain Leko left for a nominal fee as his game time was limited and he asked to leave while i also sold Lee Addy to Celtic for a reasonable ?3.3million and then Soudani finally left for Spain on a very poor deal in my eyes but he wanted to leave, wasnt turning up for training and i had found 2 awesome replacements.
Lets hope Soudani has a better time in Spain than Beciraj has our former top goalscorer only managed 3 goals in 39 games for Villareal last season.

So i brought in a fair few more players than i expected too with 11 players coming in and 6 of them on free transfers. It all only add up to ?6.5million so i made a met profit again this season so far, my biggest outlay was ?3.4million for Jelavic! An awesome signing on the transfer list a year after they turned down ?11million for him i get him on that sort of price. I also picked up former CSKA Moscow winger Oliseh on a free transfer along with French GK Carrasso from Bordeaux. The big free transfer on the big wages was Edin Dzeko who will surely storm this league with Jelavic upfront.
The rest of the signings were youngsters and decent squad players who were all Croatian.

So in the Champions League we reached the Playoffs easily and got drawn against Northern Irish side Derry City who we comfortably dispatched of over 2 legs winning the tie 7-2 on aggregate and going through to the Group stages for the 3rd year in a row.

Im pretty happy with this draw, after our amazing run last season we are now a 3rd seed all be it the very lowest 3rd seed but despite getting drawn against Barcelona i feel we can definitely beat Ajax and Anderlecht and making the Knockout stages has got to be a must for the next few seasons at the very least.

Hes been simply amazing this year and has only just turned 18.
