Swansea City Continue Fine Form!

Swansea have enjoyed a great start under The invincibles, and new manager Arsene Wenger. A run that sees the Welsh club sitting in 6th place in the league after 13 games, with a total of 21 points.

Sky: Hello Dennis, how do you rate your teams start to the season?
Bergkamp: With 13 games played we sit in 6th place, this is a start we can only have imagined of. We are only 2 points off the champions league

Sky: Okay, so what are your renewed expectations?
Bergkamp: I will not change these, we have had a good start but I do not want to put extra pressure on the lads. Anything above initial expectations are simply an added bonus.

Sky: Thank you for your time Dennis.
Bergkamp: Thank You and Come on you Swans.

Southall responds to fan's concerns over the EPL financial crisis

3rd December 2013

The football financial crisis continues as we see the second club from the English Premier League enter into administration this season. When will the spending stop? Both clubs have been deducted 9 points and this seems them join Cardiff in the bottom three.

We question Neville on the clubs long-term future and what we can expect in January,
"What can we expect in the following months, as we ourselves are delving further into debt and gambling our on our long-term future? Surely we need to act quickly as losing nine points would see us drop in between Sunderland and Villa, who have suffered for overspending"

Southall calmly replies,
"We have to sell players and finish in those European places, simple as. We are lucky enough to have the quality in depth, with players coming back from injury but unfortunately this means we begin to see a few players become a little frustrated with the lack of playing time, this means we have a duty to those players, and we will be actively seeking them game time whether that be a sale of one or two star players.

I will be having further discussions with Roberto prior to January transfer, we are even looking into the possibility of some record sales, with various clubs enquiring about the likes of Kevin Mirallas, Leon Osman, Steven Pienaar, Darron Gibson, Antolin Alcaraz and even had one or two bids for Leighton Baines, during the previous window and we won't be ruling out that Leighton has personal goals that he feels lie away from the club, but who knows what will happen, money talks and if the price is right, we can afford to sell without denting our chance of European football, then we aren't in a position to say no. That being said we are still looking into potential signings, just incase will lose a few players due to the current financial crisis we all find ourselves in, our club is no different. We also will being reviewing season ticket prices for next season, and I can promise a loyalty bonus for season ticket holders along with a potential reduction upto 25% off this seasons price."

You heard it here first here, Southall is wanting to cash in on a few of his star players, no doubt managers will be messaging him over one or two players availability. He thought's are sincere, as he promises the fans the same attacking style and reduces ticket prices for the following season, as he looks to re-shape the club from top to bottom, it's only a matter of time before he decides on Martinez future as he has now failed to win in his last two games, the only comfort lies in a 4-0 throbbing of Villa.

That's it for you Toffee faithful, tune in for next months update

League Overview

It is rumoured that a few clubs maybe selling come January, to either balance the books as the FA clamp down on club spending in preparation for the Financial Fair Play rulings.

Activity is expected at both ends of the table, with Chelsea wanting to make that number one spot theirs for the entire season, still on an unbelievable run, having recording their only lose in the league to Norwich who surprised many smashing four past Petr Cech in a 4-0 victory. Sunderland and Aston Villa, are politely putting it, in a little bit of a mess and they're definitely activity needed for both of these clubs, despite actually playing reasonably well, the finances has cost them severely and only time will tell if they remain a Premier League outfit for next season.

With Fernando Torres wages bankrupting Villa, we have to see him move on but who in their right mind will pay 350K a week? Villa are praying for a miracle there. Also, expect to see a few faces leave, as once again Villa will have to rely on that youth academy of theirs. Everton look set to sell Leighton Baines, as it's rumoured they are in discussions with Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Man United, all valuing this season's player of the year at around ?40m, also we expect movement as a few other Everton favourites are set to leave the club, as the Chairman and Manager seem to in agreeance on the fact that you can win games with kids. Everton this season have signed an amazing array of young talent, who have been performing admirably in what is for most of them their first season in the Premier League.

United need to spend money and unfortunately the man they have in charge is not used to having the money, only time will tell, but this reporter believes you will see some drastic changes come January as they slide further down the league, and it's down to the lack of class, really, this united team doesn't have that crazed scottish man [Fergie] on the sidelines anymore.

Moyes Insists he's the right man for the job despite a tough first season, for both him and his team.

"The improvement in the teams in the Premier League has been big, we have seen a busy pre-season with deals flying in left right and centre, expect new blood in January” Moyes said.

Moyes however refused to discuss any ongoing negotiations for any of his former players over at Everton, as he is potentially lining up bids for Baines, Mirallas and Jagielka.

Promotion Race

Bet365 Odds for Championship Outright winners

Queens Park Rangers - 4/1 (Joint favourites)
Queens Park Rangers are comfortable favourites for the league title, with their squad of illustrious players setting the pace early on. New signing Charlie Austin has supplied the goals to put them top, but largely their first place position is down to incredible defending.
There is little doubt about their strength in depth, nor their likelihood of losing players in January. I would be utterly gob-smacked if the West London side that have just announced plans for a 40k stadium aren't crowned Champions at the end of the season.

Ipswich - 4/1 (Joint favourites)

After a shock manager change the Tractor Boys are well placed for a real crack at the top two this season, after years bouncing around mid-table. Mick McCarthy has got the team on a good run of form and has got his team playing good football, particularly young english left back Aaron Cresswell, player of the season so far.

Blackpool - 9/1

Blackpool started the season as the pace setters, and despite a few knocks back down to earth still look very good for a play-off place and who knows maybe automatic promotion, the skys the limit for Barry Fergusons side.

Andy Keogh has been a joy to behold for any fan of the league and every defender has struggled to deal with him so far this season, 23 goals from their front two makes impressive reading. I don't think there is much doubting his quality up front and they will surely looking to secure his future as he is currently on loan from Millwall

You would always back the league's highest scorers to be promoted at the end of the season, but they really just need to tighten up at the back four, having leaked twenty-two goals in the league.

Blackburn - 11/1

Blackburn were my personal favourites for the league pre-season as they really seemed to impress and having spent wisely. They haven't exactly been to the standard they would have liked, but have still shown enough to be up and around there at the end of the season.

I believe Blackburn will make the play-offs this season, and have enough in their squad to be the one that wins the play-offs too. Bowyer is a promising manager, who will know what it takes and could be key to the end of season run-in.

Nottingham Forest - 25/1
(Editors Choice)
Nottingham Forest were a club that gambled for promotion this season, putting their money where their mouth is.

They started strongly, and the signing of Kelvin Wilson particularly looked like it could be key to their promotion chances, however, since he got injured it's been sour reading for Reds fans.

I think for Forest it all depends on what happens in January, and when they can get injured players back in the side. At the minute their side just lacks the quality of a proper top 6 side, perhaps with a little more investment in January and players coming back from injury, they could make a late booking to the play-offs.

Who do you think will get promotion this season?

Bad month

this month has not been the best month in stoke city history but were getting close to the transfer window and i will look to make some changes in all areas.
in other news im giving the team 1 month to change there fortune or it may be mass departure from the Britannia.
17th in the league is just not good enough we should be a mid table team not fighting relegation.

Dunne demands harsher punishments

Liverpool FC Chairman Terry Dunne has released a strong statement where he demands that there be stronger punishments for clubs that go into administration. He went on to say "How many more clubs are going to spend ?40million on players they can't afford, knowing they have a next to ?0 bank balance. It's not fair on the other teams who've purposely been careful with finances to avoid administration but then may as well have just took the 9 point penalty and improved their squads to a far better standard".

Dunne went on to talk about Stoke Citys performance both in the league and financially. "If you look at Stoke's performance in the league this season. They've been sensible with money, only spending ?3million or so. Yet after only 13 games, teams like Villa and Sunderland are only a few points behind them. Despite them having spent far more money and probably having a far better quality team. It just isn't fair."

When asked about what he'd do to change or prevent this from happening Dunne plainly said "Issue bigger penalties. The FA need to put their foot down on this one. 20 penalty points should be the punishment. This way, people won't be exploiting this rule. Either do it that way, or keep the 9 point penalty and add an additional point penalty for every million pound they go over."

Finally Dunne added "If I could go back to August I'd have signed Messi and Ronaldo for ?400 million. I'd of happily took that 9 point penalty."
