Palace impress in September!

Matt Smith: "I'm sure all Crystal palace fans are over the moon at how well the team are playing so far this season!

We currently sit in 7th at the moment thanks to a great all round performance from the guys in the month of Septmeber in which we managed 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss; 7 points out of 10.


YPOTM
Kennedy picks up the young player of the month award for his 2 goals against against Stoke and Leicester. I must mention Vil Henna also, as he too scored 2 goals from midfield to help us pick up the 2 wins this month.


Clean Sheets
Rulli is finally showing his quality, after taking a year to settle in the premier league, with 3 clean sheets in 6 games which puts him joint top with Ter Stegen of bitter rivals Arsenal.


Improvements?
Although I am happy with our current position in the Premier League, I am still a little disappointed with the performances from Benteke. He set us back £10 million last year and has yet to deliver!

I will be expecting him to pick up the pace and start contributing to the team with a few goals between now and January, if not then it may be the end of his Crystal Palace career as I have no intention of paying him his wages if he cant find the back of the net!!

Dear Fans

It is with great regret that I am writing to inform of you of the mutual termination of Kenny Jackett's contract. Following a lengthy meeting yesterday at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Complex, it was decided by the board and by Kenny himself that our working relationship had come to a close. Both parties had significantly different views on where the club was going and the level of ambition that the club had to be striving for.

We would all like to place on record our sincere thanks to Kenny for rebuilding this great club and for getting us to where we are today. A compensation figure has been agreed between the parties has been agreed and we are already working on drawing up a short-list of names to fill the position of first team manager.

We thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Wolves appoint Gallardo

Marcelo Gallardo has today been appointed the new manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club after a short search for a new manager following the departure of Kenny Jackett. The 41 year old Argentinian has signed a long term deal at the club and will assume his first team responsibilities immediately, with his first match coming at home against Newcastle in the Premier League.

Wolves have moved swiftly to replace outgoing manager Kenny Jackett who reportedly had a falling out with the board about the level of ambition required to take the club forward. Jackett had previously won Wolves promotion to the Premier League and some fans are claiming that this is a poor way to repay their former manager.

Gallardo enjoyed a long and successful playing career, turning out for clubs such as Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, River Plate and D.C United. Since his retirement in 2011, he has turned his hand to management and has had reasonably successful spells in charge of Uruguayan side Nacional, Brazilian side River and most recently at Stoke in the Premier League.

"Marcelo is a man with a very bright future in football management" Said Wolves chairman Scarlett Johansson in an interview this morning. "While we all are very grateful for the work Kenny did, it is now time to turn our attentions to the future and to establishing ourselves as a Premier League club and we are sure that Marcelo is the right man to do that."

What a big win this was. After 2 defeats we had to get a result at home to title rivals. Both teams got goals from new signings with Kroos giving Chelsea the lead before Berardi led the United charge to victory.

I said in last month they were our bogie team and so they went to prove it. Even after the lost there no1 to injury possible signing of the season Alcacer & then Dembele led the toon to victory.

Skinner seems to be modelling his squad management on the Arsenal "Invincibles" era...

Example: Arsenal Squad 2008

The squad is easily split into the three categories:

Experienced "Model Pros" (25+): Gallas, Toure, Lehmann/Alumnia, Rosicky and maybe even Gilberto Silva.

Core of the team (21-25): Van Persie, Adebayor, Clichy, Flamini, Hleb and Eduardo.

Youngsters(U21): Walcott, Denilson, Diaby, Bendtner, Fabianski, Hoyte etc.

The idea is to continuously buys youngsters with the goal for some of them to reach the "Core of the team" category. While the present "Core of the team" will become the "Experienced/Model Pro's" and the idea is to only sell players on for a profit and thus providing more money for the new roster of "Youngsters", and filling in any other gaps in the other category. This structure is supposed to help with building a team for the future as the younger players will constantly have a role model to learn from at the club and thus helping them reach their potential.


While Skinner's West Brom seem to be struggling at present, he is very optimistic for their future and prolonged success.

Sergio Diaz

A Paraguayan striker who played for Cerro Porteno from the age of 10. After scoring thirty goals with the U15's team he was dubbed the Kun Aguero of Cerro Porteno for his resemblance to the Argentine striker, both physically and technically gifted, he quickly became the most sort after Paraguyan. Leaving to join Real Madrid in 2014/2015 season, he struggled to make it into the elusive first team despite his proven goal scoring record in the B team and on the International stage he was sold cheaply to West Brom and at 19, we are expecting big things from this young lad.

Alessandro has impressed when representing his national side at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 levels. Yet to make a full International debut, the 21-year-old has been dubbed the new Andrea Pirlo, having only recently made a move to the West Brom is hoping to secure his future at The Hawthorns.

A born goalscorer determined to continue his considerable rise, yet another prodigy of the Manchester United youth system. Breaking into the First Team last season he formed an impressive partnership with Bafetimbi Gomis, he will hope to continue onto England successes.

Ben Garrett

One of the most talented goalkeepers in the country (IRL) and coming from the outstanding academy, at Crewe. Ben quickly became Crewe's no1 until West Brom tempted him to challenge and hopefully replace Petr Cech.

Harry Cardwell

An absolute goal machine, dubbed the new "Michael Owen" - lets hope without the injuries... but an awesome goal tally for the reserves last year netting over 34 goals, and this season in first team action he has netted 6 goals in eight starts.

Man City Update

3 wins 2 draws 2 losses not a great month for us…
First up was Znik’s amazing arsenal it was a no show for us losing 3-0 messi scoring 2 and sanchez grabbing one in the process very disappointing arsenal sending out a title warning the only plus side of this is that my prediction will be right ;)

Next was Watford at home, and despite Edin Dzeko scoring against his former club it wasn’t enough 4-1 solid victory scored different people with steven caulker getting the man of the match.

Champions League match a very disappointing 3-1 loss to Wolfsburg joe hart was very poor and has been all season expect to bring in some better competition for him in January.

A 1-1 draw against q.p.r a good team granted but another 2 points dropped. Finally wins against Birimingham in the COC and sunderland bring the month to a close.

Otamendi, Caulker and Henderson have been our best players of the season so far while our English lads have been disappointing especially joe hart 6 games avg 6.67 :(

To start for a reason
The BPL was back
Back in the attack

By the 1st of September
We were floating around forever
In 3rd place mate
We were never gonna drop, we were so great.

But by October, things had changed
We had collapsed, we were ranged
Stuck in mid-table
With a struggle for a label

Now we aim for Europa League
It's what we deserve, 7th was meagre
If we get there, we will be full of joy
We will be excited, ready to ploy.

West Ham United - September Update


September was a busy month for the team, with 6 games coming for the team. With a poor first month of the season and a continuation of our TV exposure with 7 of our first 8 games televised, it was time to start winning for the fans.


West Ham 3-2 West Brom

Welbeck (2), AsensioA good way to start the month with our first win of the season thanks to a brace from Welbeck and an Asensio goal.


West Ham 0-1 Crystal Palace

Our next game was less successful, a disappointing home loss to Crystal Palace.


West Ham 1-0 FC Nurnberg

Welbeck

We bounced back with an impressive home win against Nurnberg in the opener of our Europa League campaign thanks to an early Welbeck goal.


Everton 1-1 West Ham

Welbeck

Another Welbeck goal, this time late on in the game salvaged us a draw away at struggling Everton.


West Ham 2-1 Aston Villa

Meyer, Aranguiz

We then hosted Aston Villa at the Olympic stadium, where we came back from behind to claim a 2-1 win with goals from Meyer and Aranguiz.


Swansea 0-3 West Ham

Naismith (2), Welbeck

Perhaps our most impressive performance was away at Swansea as we coasted to a 3-0 win with 2 goals from Naismith and another from Welbeck.


Those results mean we've now moved up to 11th in the league, and although we'd ideally be higher there is still lots of time to improve and move towards the European places once again.​

To the Fans,

It is with a heavy heart that today I announce the termination of Paul Hartley's contract with immediate effect. Following the sub-par performances in September we began drawing up a shortlist of potential replacements. We had intended to give Paul another month to prove himself but the recent appointment at Wolves has forced our hand.

We expect that the appointment at Molineux will spark a domino effect as clubs who are searching for a manager make changes and we didn't want to be the Club at the end choosing from the leftovers.

We haven't made this move without a plan for the future in place. As alluded to above the Club has been doing our due diligence on a number of potential candidates so that we are prepared for a multitude of situations. That said, our investigations have led us to believe that an immediate change will be best for the Club as it will give the incoming manager a significant period to ***** the playing list and identify potential targets prior to the January transfer window.

We want to thank Paul for all his efforts in what has been a tumultuous time and wish him all the best in the future.

Joining the Blues in his place will be Dutch legend Frank De Boer. Having held managerial positions at Ajax, Liverpool, Reading and most recently Celtic we believe his experience at this level will be telling in keeping the Club up this season.

I'm sure you will all join with me in giving Frank a rousing reception at the upcoming away match at QPR and then on his home debut against Manchester City on the 20th and will be right behind both he and the lads as we work our way back up the table.

Spurs September and October Update


Great performances in the league (minus one result), good performance in the Europa League, bad performance in the Capital One Cup. Overall a good two months for Tottenham.


Premier League


So, this is the best aspect of the season so far. After nine games we sit in second place, four points behind leaders Arsenal and three points ahead of third place City. Now to talk about how we got there!


So, we started October with two away games to top six rivals Newcastle and Liverpool. I was expecting really tough games... But they were actually quite easy! First we went to St. James' Park, beating Newcastle 3-1 with goals from new signing Saul, left back Ben Davies and the amazing Memphis Depay. After we travelled to Anfield and recorded a 3-0 win there, a brace from Harry Kane and an own goal from Mignolet winning us the game very, very easily. We remained at home for the last two games of October, playing Wolves and Stoke. We only manages a 1-1 draw against Wolves, Harry Kane scoring for us. But we did beat Stoke 2-1. Erik Lamela scored, then got sent off which led to Stoke equalising. Luckily Saul picked up a late winner for us.


October wasn't the best of months. We did beat Southampton and West Ham, but got crushed by Arsenal. We beat Southampton 2-1, Goretzka and Memphis scoring, then beat West Ham 1-0 , but only through a Kevin Mirallas penalty. Then we lost 4-0 to Arsenal. Not saying any more about that.


Capital One Cup


Played one game away to Stoke. Drew 2-2 with goals from Mirallas and Lamela, before losing on penalties.


Europa League


Three games in the Europa League so far. First we played Young Boys at home, winning 2-0 with Kane and Lamela scoring. Then we went away to Romanian side Petrolul, winning 3-0 with goals from Kane, Bentaleb and Memphis. Finally we played German side RBL, only drawing 2-2 with goals from Bentaleb and Ayoze Perez. We currently sit top of Group H on 7 points.


The Positives


This ones easy. Second in the premiership after nine games. A huge positive, and an unexpected one. Top of our Europa League group is good as well, but it was expected so... Not as good as being second in the toughest, and arguably best, league in the world.


The Negatives


Early Capital One Cup exit, and losing 4-0 to Arsenal. Oh, and all the injuries. Currently we have Ben Davies out for 10 days to 3 weeks, Samuel Umtiti out for 3-4 weeks and Hugo Lloris out for 10 days to 3 weeks, although Michel Vorm has been doing a good job in goal in his absence.


Player of the Month


This month the award goes to Harry Kane. Over September and October Harry Kane netted six goals in all competitions, picking up two man of the match awards.

Young Player of the Month


Just a reminder, this award goes to the best player aged 23 and under, as long as they did not win the player of the month award. For September and October this goes to Memphis Depay. The talented Dutchman is arguably out best player, and he showed this by picking up three goals, five assists and two man of the match awards over the two months.

CHAIRMAN'S UPDATE - OCTOBER

Well, what a month!!

We started off with apprehension following the De Boar appointment but it has paid immediate dividends as we picked up 6 from a possible nine points!


Game 1: QPR 1 (Sandro 33) - Everton 2 (Waghorn 21, Gerson 87)

Great start to De Boer's Everton career. Travelling to Loftus Road is never easy these days, particularly with Jose Mourinho in charge!! I think we somewhat struck it lucky here, getting them on only 3 days rest following their midweek Europa League tie against Sevilla.

Gerson was the star today, playing at the top of the midfield in Frank's 4-4-2 diamond narrow it is clear a large part of how we will go this season will be dictated by his performances.


Game 2: Everton 0 () - Manchester City 4 (Kevin Volland 26, Icardi 27, 34, 62)

This game was over when we conceded 3 goals in 8 minutes in the middle of the first half. Not the best of home debuts but City are a quality side and have the resources to establish themselves as title contenders. New boy Icardi was the best on field today, fully deserving his magnificent hatrick.

Brilliant substitution from Guardiola too as he hadn't started the match but been brought on when Aguero picked up a knock very early on. A knock to Shane Long that will see him miss the first few games of November also compounded the misery.


Game 2: Everton 3 (Waghorn 13, Maniatis 40, Gerson 57) - West Brom 1 (Gomis 1)

This was a true relegation 6 pointer - even at this stage of the season. The Baggies started in fire with Gomis putting them ahead before we knew what hit us! Thankfully we fought back and goals from Marty, Giannis and boy wonder sealed the victory.

Big win, the pessimists might say we are now only 3 points from safety, I prefer to see that we are only 3 points away from 6th spot!

November Preview

4 winnable games this month. Need to pick up as many points as possible from now on in to January to allow us to focus on picking up some players who will really help us move up the table.
