Disclaimer89's English Premier League Chairman Game - FM 2015 Edition

Oh Dear

210px-Middlesbrough_crest.png

Four Games, Four Deafeats.

Middlesbrough had a brillant season in the championship but they currently they sit bottom of the Premier League and don't look like winning anytime soon. After a terrible pre season in the summer, Middlesbrough continued this tradition, losing its first three matches being outplayed in every position.

Middlesbrough played Newcastle in the first game and lost 3-0 away, the only silver lining was a solid performance by Ben Gibson. Goalkepper Mark Bunnn was heavily criticised by fans and pundits making two basic goalkeeper mistakes leading to goals from Navas, and Sanabria.

Middlesbrough made some minor improvements playing against Aston Villa, but still lost 2-1 at Riverside. Once again Mark Bunn put in another terrible performance raising doubts about the players ability. However there was moments of quality at Riverside, with some good passing play and Kike managed to score his first goal of the season, a major confidence boost for the Spainish international.

Later on in the week the Middlesbrough side travelled down south to play Tottenham and suffered another 3-0 lost. Middlesbrough managed 9 shots compared to Tottenhams 11 but a lack of composure and quality upfront was the difference between the two sides.

Capital Cup Round 1

Middlesbrough suffered an embrassing defeat against Championship side Leeds United losing 2-1 in extra time. The Middlesbrough side was booed off the match after losing to Leeds who currently sit bottom of the Championship. Fans are hoping with the distract of cup matches, the Boro side will have higher fitness levels in Premier league matches.

Transfer Surprise

While Chairman Tommy Rodgers was on a seaside resort in Skegness, Garry Monk took things into his own hand making five squad signings for the Middlesbrough, and lost fan favourite Alex Pritchard to West Ham for £1.1m. Monk added another centre back to the squad, and Monk felt having five fullbacks wasn't enough, adding Anele to the side for 800k. Additionally Monk signed Ben Pearson for 130K a signing that has been heavily criticised by Chairman Rodgers questioning the players quality.

The only worthwhile signings were Jed Steer on a free transfer and Patrick Bamford on a season long loan signing.

Aston Villa 4 - 1 Hull

A hugely disappointing result to start the season as we slumped to defeat against a good Villa side. Some promising flashes of talent from the likes of Salah and Ince but nothing special enough to get anything from the game. A debut goal from James Ward-Prowse was the sole bright spot.

Hull 2 - 1 Tottenham

Fantastic result! and a great game! Saido Berahino notched his first for the club early on before Ward-Prowse made it two goals in two games. An Erik Lamela penalty brought the match back into the balance but Tottenham were powerless to stop our first win of the season! A man of the match performance from Mohamed Salah who claimed an assist and a match rating of 8.0. Up and running!

Stevenage 2 - 1 Hull

A really gutting result in the Capital One Cup as we are knocked out by Stevenage in the second round. Villas-Boas rung the changed and it failed to pay off with disappointing performances from young loan star Jason Denayer and Karl Dawlow in goal. Tom Ince scored the goal for us to continue our good form but it wasn't enough.

Crystal Palace 1 - 1 Hull

To be honest I am very pleased with this result, a good point away from home against tough opposition. James Ward-Prowse once again turned in a man of the match performance but it was Christian Stuani who grabbed the late equaliser to earn us a point.

This leaves us 13th in the table but all in all I am extremely satisfied with this start and am very happy with the progress being made under Villas-Boas.

Villas-Boas did manage to do some business in the transfer market without my input. Krohn-Dehli and Huerlho Gomes both left the club for minimal fee's as did Matty Phillips on loan to Milwall (Not happy about this!) He did however manage to capture Harry Wilson on loan from Liverpool which somewhat fills the gap.

Aston Villa August Update
After an incident where both Fatih Terim and Daniel Diaz were claimed by the 'big mac killer' I expected a slow start while the players recovered from the shock. While I was away in Bermuda, I was informed that Boris Johnson, in his infinite wisdom, had decided to hire Nigel Pearson as our new manager. I was sceptical about this, although thankfully that has since proved unfounded. Boris also brought in 2 new signings: Fabio Quagliarella from Torino, and a young portuguese right back. Why he did this I couldn't say - Quagliarella has scored 11 goals in 60 appearances for Torino, and the right back looks **** poor. Nevertheless, we started pre season very well, losing only one match - against Barnsley. We started off the campaign well, with a 4 - 1 win over Hull in which Sakho made his debut... and then got himself injured. A 2 - 1 away victory against struggling Middlesbrough soon followed, leaving me to think twice about eating Ni- I mean firing Nigel Pearson. Next up, Sheffield United in the Capital One Cup where we secured a 2 - 0 victory, with a rare Libor Kozak goal, as well as Pelle continuing his good scoring record. Finally we received an expected 2 - 0 loss at the hands of the mancs, but all around a very good start to the season.

Also in September we have a top 4 fight with Arsenal 3 days after the trip to Madrid. How will Simeone & Slutlsky do on there first meeting in England?

Frank Skinner looks at Albion's business over the summer and how the new-look Baggies are progressing at The Hawthorns this season.

View attachment 940495

With only a handful of games so far this season, it promises to be an exciting season here at the Hawthorns as thirteen new arrivals seem to be exciting the crowds, now gathering at the games and the training fields.

View attachment 230413
West Bromwich Albion boss Mark Hughes has already made three signings this summer, including the £4.2 million acquisition of Chilean sweeper Enzo Roco.

But the majority of this seasons business has been done by the chairman, Frank Skinner. Bringing in Manchester-based trio Ahmed Elmohamady, Fernandinho, James Wilson and Karim Rekik from fellow chairman, during their window.

Yet arguably the biggest story of the window, as far as Albion are concerned, revolves around the possible exit of a player in January.

View attachment 230412
Arsenal made numerous bids, the last reportedly around £34 million plus player exchange, for star defensive midfielder Joshua Kimmich who has also had a transfer request rejected. Rumours are that he has now settled into his role at The Albion and has been in great form this season thus far and teams are still looking to acquire his signature but Frank has slapped a "No Sale" sign on him.

View attachment 230408View attachment 230407
Of the club’s newest recruits, Elmohamaday and loanee Teixeira have been ever present so far this season, only time will tell if they can hold down first team football as both players were signed with a rotation status in mind.

View attachment 230411
But the one everyone is waiting to see, Fernandinho but during a pre season training session he suffered an ankle injury and he is yet to play a competitive game for West Brom.

View attachment 230406
Frank has said that he has been very impressed with his teams progress so far this season and is waiting for the team to settle into a rhythm and really show their strength. He also has apparently been discussing with manager Mark Hughes about slight tactical changes and is expecting to see those implemented over the next few games.

Chairman's League Expectation: Top 8

Shaky Start to Spurs Season

Spurs have what can only be described as a shaky start to the 16/17 season. They started at home to Swansea, managing a 3-3 draw, and even then only because of a 90th minute goal from Memphis Depay, last seasons Tottenham Player of the Season. Naboo Bentaleb, back from loan from Aston Villa, and Erik Lamela also grabbed goals. We then went away to Hull, only getting a very disappointing 2-1 defeat, Erik Lamela scoring from the spot for Spurs. We did however manage to click in the last game of August, getting a comfortable 3-0 win over newly promoted Middlesborough, Memphis Depay scoring from the spot and Erik Lamela grabbing two.

This leaves us in 9th, obviously disappointing but only three games into the season, not too bad. However with games against Manchester City and Chelsea next month, we'll have to be at our best to get points.

The Europa League groups were also drawn, Spurs will face Ukrainian's Dynamo Kiev, Israeli side Tel Aviv and Portuguese Side Academica. All in all, a pretty easy group and I will be disappointed if we don't go through top of it.

Our last game of September will be a Capital Cup 3rd Round tie at home to Championship side Bolton, in what should hopefully be an easy win.

Player of the Month
The Player of the Month for August has to be Erik Lamela, the talented Argentinian bagging four goals for us in three games.

QPR August Update

So before we get into fixtures we need to recap the transfers that my manager undertook. Firstly the manager sold our right back Gino Peruzzi to Real Madrid. We only recived a fee of 11.25 million fee which is very disappointing making a 7.45 million profit. However he was replaced by Andre Wisdom. I would have prefered to keep peruzzi but real madrid is a big opportunity for a player. Also 'Keeper Jack Butland was injured in pre-season so the gaffer decided to sign Club Brugge goalie Matthew Ryan. It seems as if he will be the first choise 'keeper for this season.

Pre season was OK but a shocking match against Barnet in which we lost 2 1 and this planted doubts in the minds of players and fans

Game 1 vs Watford

What should have been a very easy first game of the season turned into a nightmare where we lost 3-0 to a newly promoted team. We were played of the park and its as if different teams played as half of the side played ok and didnt do to badly. The other half was shockingly bad. Very Dissapointing.

Game 2 vs Man Utd

A much MUCH better performance from the lads as we managed to draw with man utd. We were ahead for most of the game as we scored 2 goals in 4 minutes to take the lead in the first half however Johnothan Calleri scored in the 73rd minute to secure united a draw. Most of the lads played well and deserved more than 1 point however new keeper matthew ryan and fernando had shocking games and will have lots of work to do to fit in with the rest of the team.

Game 3
vs Swindon

Just what we needed a 5-0 drubbing of lower league boys swindon will give the hoops just the confidence we need to go forth and have a succesful campaign. Good performances from most of the lads means that we progress in the next round of the capitol one cup which is a trophy that we'd love to go far in. A 3rd round draw vs championship side southampton allows us to do excatly that. Amazing perfromances including a brace from young and a strike from adam johnson made for a top performance.

Game 4 vs West Ham
a 3-2 win really doesnt do us justice as we dominated and a 3 or 4 nil win would have better reflected the way the game went. We were dominant in every way and the result wasnt a shock. Good performances from all the lads bar matthew Ryan made for a tighter encounter than it should have been.

and now for the benefit of those with screenshot photography im going to list the gradings for all new signings, that have played, for 5 SECOND ONLY (or as long as you want really ;P ) :
Jordi Amat : B, nothing special although solid
Fernando: D, Needs to improve
Michael Dawson: C+, not bad not great
Ross Barkly: B-, Played well hasen't set the world alight
Ariel Rossi: D+, Played well in U-21s needs to step up soon
Baris Kandemir: A-, at 15 years old alreaady one of the best u-18 CBs BIG FUTURE
Robin Van Percie: C-, not played well but has been injured
Ashley Young: A, played some great football for us
Stambouli: C, hasent done much
Jovatic: B-, Played well but got injured
Matthew Ryan: E+, has had some shockers
Andre Wisdom: D+, Ok i guess

QPR Player of the month

First blood to the Gunners, as they make solid start to the season.
After a busy summer in North London, the season is finally underway. It has been a summer of transition for the Arsenal, after Arsene Wenger decided to hang up his managers coat and call it a day. New manager, relatively unknown Russian Leonid Slutskiy, has already looked to stamp his mark on this new Arsenal side. Worryingly, he has done so by continuing the trend of making strange summer signings, that Arsene Wenger started last summer.

Final Transfers In:

Leonid Slutskiy has a preference for playing with more defensive-minded midfielders than Arsene Wenger did, so we decided that it was in our best interests to bring in players that could be more solid in the defensive midfield position. Because of his recommendation, we decided to splash the cash on Bayern's Javi Martinez. Javi is one of the greatest all-round defensive midfielders in the world, and is a nightmare to play against because of his reading of the game, and his defensive strength. However, mr. Slutskiy felt that even more was needed in this position and brought in Barcelona's defensive destroyer Javier Mascherano as well. Fielding a duo of Javi's versus the bigger teams will make any attacking side have trouble to break us down, and should help us become even more cynical and solid when it is needed.

After missing out on our main CB target to rivals Chelsea, we had to find someone who could fill a backup position in the centre of defence. Talented Danish international Jores Okore caught our eye, and was brought in after long negotiations with Aston Villa. He is strong, talented, and can only improve as he is still fairly young.

After Slutskiy's Mascherano-signing, I felt confident that he had much more of an eye for business than Wenger did, but boy did he prove me wrong with his next two. 31 year-old attacking fullback Juanfran was brought in from Atletico Madrid. We already have Chambers and Marquinhos that are better than him, so I am not sure if he will get much game time, and paying £7.5M for an old backup is just not good business. Expect him available on the cheap in January. Slutskiy also decided that having Mascherano, Martinez, Ramsey, Can, and McCarthy was not enough in the DM position, and spent £5.5M on Swiss international Pirmin Schwegler from Hoffenheim. He then instantly demoted him to the reserves and changes his squad status to "not needed".... I might have to check Slutskiy's connections to make sure a certain Juan Carlos isn't pulling the strings on all these deals.

One final deal that we were thrilled on completing was young German centreback Andreas Rudolph from Bayern. Andreas already looks a quality player at 17, and is someone we look forward to watching progress and challenge for the first team. He may well also be someone we will look to loan out in January, to ensure first team football.

After a decent pre-season, we kicked off the season by fighting for the first title of the year: the Community Shield. Over the last couple of years, we have contributing in shifting the centre of power in English football back to the capital. And this was shown when two London-sides faced off in the first competitive game this year.

Chelsea have been a thorn in our side, ever since the 2014/15 season, and we were keen on getting back at our rivals after falling short last year.

Two incredibly strong lineups faced off, with perhaps a slight advantage to Arsenal as Chelsea were missing their star striker, Diego Costa. Slutskiy decided to drop star playmaker Mesut Özil to the bench, to go with an attacking midfield of Coutinho, Sanchez and Sterling.

The Russian's selection was his first major decision at the club, and it proved a brilliant one. Sanchez gave us an early lead, and Sterling converted a penalty only 6 minutes later to give us a 2-0 lead at half time. Chelsea had the majority of possession, but could not break past our two Javi's in midfield, and at 60 minutes, Coutinho was played in by right back Chambers, to make it 3-0. This was the final score, as we strike first blood of the season, lifting the Community Shield.

Stoke 1 - 1 Arsenal
We kicked off the season at our nightmare-ground, the Britannia. New manager, Slutskiy, had probably heard a lot about our previous troubles away at Stoke, and sent out a strong team.
Stoke were their usual selves, and gathered 4 bookings in the first half, while new-boy Javi Martinez retaliated for us, getting himself booked as well. In the second half, it all came to life after 60 minutes. Javi Martinez made a silly challenge and got himself sent off after his second booking, but only seconds later, Alexis Sanchez gave us the lead. That didn't last long, however, as Turkish wonderboy Enes Unal scored the equalizer one minute later. We held on for a credible draw, as getting something from Stoke away is never easy.

Arsenal 2 - 1 Liverpool
We continued our campaign against the team that has stolen our title hopes at Anfield in the previous two seasons. Slutskiy continued with Sanchez up front as Lukaku did not even make the bench. Once again, however, I cannot critizise his decision as Özil and Sanchez scored two goals in two minutes to give us a 2-0 lead at half time. Former Liverpool player Coutinho had a brilliant game, but it was his Liverpool replacement Roberto Firmino who made things tense, by pulling one back minutes into the second half. We held firm once again, and this time, picked up all three points.

Leicester 1 - 3 Arsenal
Another game against a tough opposition who have strengthened in the summer, but once again we bring home the points. Lukaku got a start in this one, and marked it by giving us an early lead, converting a penalty. Coutinho doubled our lead, and it all looked comfortable once again at the break. However, yet again we gave the opposition a way back into the match, with new signing Mané giving Leicester a lifeline. Substitute José Gaya put the result beyond doubt late on, as he made it 3-1. Another 3 points, without hitting top gear. We relied on Sczcesny having a good game in this one.

View attachment 941264Our group draw gave us a fairly kind draw, but some tough away-games may lead to tired legs after mid-week games this autumn.
Group E:
Arsenal
Shakhtar
Galatasaray
Dinamo
Conclusion:
A very decent start to the season eases my worries a bit about our unproven manager. However, the next month is where he'll have to prove himself with tough away games at Old Trafford and in Turkey. Still, in Slutskiy we trust!

New West Ham Chairman Announced

Sir Geoff Hurst announced as new Hammers Chairman

View attachment 229970

After the Queen was assassinated, many West Ham fans were left unsure about the club's future with no chairman to guide the club. With no points gained from the team's three opening games in the Premier League, the board have decided to appoint a West Ham legend as the new chairman in an attempt to regain the fans trust and try and move the team away from the relegation places.

Sir Geoff Hurst, scorer of over 250 goals for the club, will hope his knowledge will help the Hammers to push up the table and grow their already great history as a top club in the country. It is reported that current manager Tony Pulis will remain in charge for the time being, although a continuation of the club's current form could soon put an end to his time in charge at the club.

When interviewed, the new chairman was adamant he was the right man for the job, saying "I am honoured to return to this great club as chairman and will give my all to ensure that West Ham have a bright future."

Good luck buddy, your 1st game is against me, the exact same happened to Boro and look what happened. (West Ham Chairman) :)

Thanks mate, although I hope it doesn't go the same way... need to start getting some points on the board!

The slutty-man second in Manager of the Month again, and we're still unbeaten! Not bad :D

And thanks a lot to the team us Gunners love to hate! Good job on beating Chelsea, Spurs!

Rule Britannia!

Stoke made a storming start to the season going unbeaten in there first 6 games including a draw at Arsenal and a big win against last years top side Cardiff. It all turned a but sour at the end of September as Crystal Palace put us out of the League Cup and Man City ended our unbeaten start with Daniel Sturrage scoring the winner at the Etihad. October may be a hard month without 3 of our key starting player s Enes Unal, Lucas Andersen and Jordan Rhodes all expected to be back for November.

Also i have to say what a start by the top 4. Chelsea lost to Spurs but that aside only Chelsea's win over Man Ciy's was the only time they have lost in all competitions

Man City Mini Update :p

Aguero and Sturridge now injured for multiple weeks argh

Champions League wins agaisnt Juve and Anderlecht :)

New signing Fernando has malfunctioned and is apparently just as bas as the old one :p

Premier League record this month was good wins all round aside a disheartening 2 points dropped at palace best highlight 3-0 win against spurs

Expecting the top 4 to run away with it
