Penultimate Game..

Blackburn 0-1 Spurs
View attachment 63524

Tottenham made sure that a win would guarantee them the league championship at White Hart Lane since the late 1960's.
A wonder strike from England hitman Peter Crouch in the second half secured the 3 points for the Londoners and it means that they if they beat Bolton at White Hart Lane on the final day of the season, then they will be Premier League Champions.

Manchester United however lost ground on Spurs, after they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Goodison Park. They are now 2 points behind Tottenham meaning they must win their final game against Blackburn or they can't be crowned Champions.

Chelsea however gained ground on Manchester United but Tottenham's win means they can't be crowned champions despite their 2-1 win over Hull. They can however finish second if they win their final game of the season against West Ham and Manchester United fail to win.

And The Winner Is..

View attachment 63531

Tottenham Hotspur romped to their first Premier League Championship after coming from a goal down at White Hart Lane to thrash Bolton Wanderers.
Fabrice Muamba put Bolton ahead in the first minute of the game with a smashing strike past Heurelho Gomes. But that seemed to shock Spurs into life as they then demolished Bolton in a breath taking display of football.

Luka Modric equalised for Spurs with a wonderful curling strike from the edge of the area that went in off the upright, before Peter Crouch added to his season tally to send Tottenham into the lead. Jermaine Defoe added a third for Spurs just before the hour mark to wrap up the points and the title. David Bentley then scored a penalty and Angel Di Maria tapped in the 5th to complete the rout in stoppage time to end a thumping victory and a momentous season for the North London side.

Season 2009/2010 Review..

images
images

After completing the domestic double during this campaing, we surpassed all expectations this season. We had originally set out to just get into Europe after missing out on that the previous season, and trying to get to at least the Semi-Finals of at least one of the two cup competitions. I'm very happy about how the first season went, and I'll be looking to build on our successes and try and get some more silverware in the Tottenham Hotspur trophy cabinet.

English Premier Division: Winners
Carling Cup: Winners
FA Cup: Semi-Finals
Top Scorer: Jermaine Defoe - 34 goals
Most Assists: Luka Modric - 23 assists

An overall fantastic season for the club, and hopefully I can make it a tradition to get silverware every year.

Transfer Updates and Pre-Season round up coming soon...

Pre-Season and Transfer Round-Up..

Tottenham made some massive changes to their title winning side during the summer, with big names going in and out of the club. The big exit, was key playmaker Luka Modric leaving for Barcelona for £32.5M after he stated publicly that he couldn't achieve any more at the club and wanted to leave. Daniel Feliciano said he would get as much money as he could for the Croat, and he did exactly that, also getting a 15% future transfer fee clause into the deal. The big in however, was big Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko for £25M from German side Wolfsburg. The big man bagged plenty of goals last season, and during pre-season and has stated his excitement at starting afresh in a brand new league and country.

Transfers

Ins:
Edin Dzeko - Wolfsburg - £25M
Diego Buanonotte - River Plate - £3M (compensation)
Scott Parker - West Ham - £2.6M
Nicolas Otamendi - Genoa - £8.25

Outs:
Luka Modric - Barcelona - £32.5M
Younes Kaboul - Man City - £5M
Robbie Keane - Olympique Marseille - £12M
Alan Hutton - Sevilla - £3M

Pre-Season..

View attachment 63601

Plenty of goals scored and only 3 conceded meant a very good pre-season for the reigning Premier League Champions. Undefeated and new signings gelling well together is a good sign for the coming season. Edin Dzeko bagged an impressive 6 goals in 7 games to show he is a threat in front of goal.

Community Shield

Chelsea 0-0 Spurs (Chelsea win 4-1 on Pens)
Community Shield
View attachment 63602

An even game, that ended in a bore draw. Neither side really had any clear cut chances, with many offsides being the downfall of the game, but both teams looked sharp enough to damage a lesser team, which could be the case on the opening day of the Premier League season. Chelsea win the Community Shield, but it was a poor game.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Both sides had a bit of rust today and neither team were playing with their proper pace that they usually play with. We'll be hoping we can get up to scratch for next weekend against Preston and hopefully start the season with a win.
Carlo Ancelotti said:
It was a difficult game because we haven't played for so long, but it was a good run about and it was nice to lift the trophy.

Tbh honest if I was you I would have signed another defender, but you'll probably/will prove me wrong. Good luck with this season, will be following this now, not noticed it til now.(H)

Sreiously DMF, how do you do it?

I do it, because I'm the best (H)

Window isn't closed yet, and I've still got quite a lot of money so we'll see what happens eh? ;)

Shock World Cup!

images

The World Cup had many shocks in it, but none more so than the final itself. The final of the South Africa World Cup 2010 was contested by Russia and Ghana, both who had never won a World Cup before, and it was the African side that came out on top in this one, with a 5-4 win on penalties after a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes. Roman Pavlyuchenko missed the vital penalty for Russia, and he was so distraught after the game that he refused to be interviewed about it.

Let the Games Begin.. - August Round Up

Transfers..

A host of names came in and left the lane throughout the summer but the squad is as strong as ever. Jamie O'Hara went back out of the club on loan, Marco Verratti and Gabriel Silva went to Tottenham's new feeder club Middlesbrough on season-long loans to gain first team experience and Gio Dos Santos left for Sunderland for £7M. Guilhermo Ochoa and Alessandro Vigano where the two players to come into the side since the Community Shield, looking to make waves in the Premier League.

Fixtures..

Preston 0-2 Spurs
View attachment 63654

A vintage performance from the Champions made sure they picked up where they left off last season with a comfortable 3 points to kick off their season at newly promoted Deepdale. Peter Crouch struck with Tottenham's first league goal of the season early on, before Sebastian Bassong headed home towards the end of the first half to give Spurs the cushion and effectively the victory.

Daniel Feliciano said:
A fairly comfortable win for us today I thought. We looked strong, and showed we mean business again this season by tucking away two good chances. Very pleased, and hopefully we can carry this on.
Darren Ferguson said:
We were good tonight, but there is a massive gap between the Championship and the Premier League, and we need to hope that we can cope with the big step up in ability and I believe we can, but we have to adjust first.

Spurs 1-0 Chelsea
View attachment 63655

Tottenham exacted some revenge on their Community Shield opponents as they scored an early season psychological blow over title rivals Chelsea with this victory at White Hart Lane. Peter Crouch's second goal in as many games was enough in the end, a fine strike from just inside the area hit hard and low into the corner.

Daniel Feliciano said:
A great win for us. We showed we're no pushovers and that last season wasn't a fluke so hopefully we can continue this form throughout the season and keep this title.
Carlo Ancelotti said:
We were good today but they've taken the chance they had, and we didn't. It's that simple, we need to improve.

Spurs 3-0 Wigan
View attachment 63656

Another strong performance from champions Tottenham means they have a maximum 9 points from 9 this month. Goals from Niko Kranjcar, Peter Crouch and Edin Dzeko's first goal for the club sealed 3 points after a terrific performance made sure Wigan wouldn't repeat the defeat of Spurs that they managed early on last season.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Very happy with this performance today. Niko was a danger all night long, and we looked like we could score every time we went forward in the end. Very pleased.
Roberto Martinez said:
We weren't too good today. They outplayed us, and we marked poorly and were punished. We have to improve if we want to remain a Premier League club this season.

UEFA Champions League Group Stage Draw

View attachment 63658

Tottenham were drawn against one of the biggest names in the world as they were placed in the same group as F.C Barcelona. Group H will also comprise of FC Kobenhavn and FC Twente. Spurs will feel confident that they can qualify from this group, and will probably be aiming for second place in the group.
