16th - Cardiff City (Away)
20th - Brentford (Home)

I'd be happy with at least 9 points from these 5 league games.

Just as Jelle Vossen is trying to get his fitness levels up, I got a call from the physio to tell me that Vossen had hurt his back during a weights training routine, and would be out of action for around 4 weeks. He was only just trying to get match fit so I was quite disappointed with this because I needed him back in the starting line up.

TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

Middlesbrough sign Celta Vigo stiker Santi Mina on loan until the end of the season.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Middlesbrough make a second transfer deal, this time bringing 26 year old Icelandic midfielder Birkir Bjarnason to Teesside for £875,000. He comes from Pescara of the Italian Serie B.

Huddersfield 1 - 0 Middlesbrough

Such a disappointing performance and result. We should be winning games like this. Our 2 new players had a fairly quiet afternoon.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Cardiff City 0 - 2 Middlesbrough

We recorded our first away win of the season with 2 great Emmanuel Ledesma goals.

The win was marred with new signing Birkir Bjarnason been stretchered off the field after 27 minutes. My phsyio told me that Bjarnason has sustained strained knee ligaments and will be out for up to 2 months.

I arrived at work at 6.45am on 17th September 2014, only to find Albert Adomah at my door wanting a word. I asked him in and he sat down and our chat began. Adomah wanted assuarances that he'd be getting much more game time. I told him that I didn't see him fitting into our team since we play 3 central midfielders, no wingers. He didn't seem too impressed with my response, so I told him I'd look to sell him at the next opportune moment. Adomah thanked me and said he would be leaving the club.

I subsequently transfer listed Adomah. He's worth £3m.

On 20th September 2014, my new loanee striker Santi Manti pulled up with a groin strain. Our physio says he'll be out for 3 weeks.

Middlesbrough 5 - 2 Brentford

Patrick Bamford got the game going with a goal after only 18 seconds, then getting his second on 39 minutes. Tomas Kalas and Emmanuel Ledesma chipping in with goals as well.

I'd spoken to Kike prior to this game and told him he needed to buck up and start contributing more. My talk must have hit home as Kike netted his second of the season and our 5th goal of the game. He also contributed with 2 assists.

------------------------------------------------------

Capital One Cup Round 3

Everton 4 - 1 Middlesbrough

We were 1-0 up and looking comfortable, thanks to Patrick Bamford's early strike. But then Emmanuel Ledesma was carried off injured so we lost our main goal creator, and then we got subsequently hammered.

Charlton Athletic 1 - 2 Middlesbrough

A very tense game live on TV, which after 2 goals by Patrick Bamford should have been enough for us play possession football, however we were under pressure straight after our second goal and we were very lucky to come away from The Valley with a win.

Middlesbrough 3 - 2 Blackpool

After Grant Leadbitter and Emmanuel Ledesma had put us 2-0 up, I pictured back to the Charlton game and hoped we go on to a get a third. However my players seemed to give up and allowed Blackpool to draw level. I was furious and shouted and screamed from the touchline. Thankfully my players responded and goal machine Patrick Bamford got the winner.

At the end of August I said I'd be happy with at least 9 points from September's league fixtures. We excelled and got 12 points.

We now sit 2nd in the Sky Bet Championship after 10 games.

October 2014 Fixtures

4th - Fulham (Home)
18th - Brighton & Hove Albion (Away)
21st - Wolverhampton Wanderers (Away)
25th - Watford (Home)

I'd be happy to collect 6 points from these 4 league games, and I'm hoping our unbeaten home form continues.

Biggie you are churning out the updates!! Good luck with the October fixtures

Middlesbrough 1 - 1 Fulham

Conceading a goal in the second minute of injury time was harsh. Fulham didn't deserve a point, as we squandered so many great chances to kill the game off. Adam Forshaw getting an 8th minute goal from a good 25+ yards out for Boro.

After looking at the first team players whose contracts are expiring in June 2015, I decided not to renew (CB) Jonathan Woodgate and (GK) Dimitris Konstantopoulos. I did however offer a contract to (AM) Emmanuel Ledesma.

In the reserves I offered contracts to (GK) Connor Ripley (signed a 2yr contract), (GK) Joe Fryer (signed a 3yr contract), (RB) Andre Bennett (signed a 3yr contract), (CB) Johnny Burns (signed a 3yr contract), (ST) Luke Williams (signed a 3yr contract), (CM) Jordan Jones (signed a 2yr contract), (RB) Johnny Helm (signed a 3yr contract)

Brighton 0 - 2 Middlesbrough

Another great away win for us, our game been shown Live on TV.

Kike got us an early goal, and then Tomas Kalas finished Brighton off. Emmanuel Ledesma creating both goals.

---------------------------------------------------

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 - 2 Middlesbrough

This is another game we threw away the second minute of injury time. Dimitris Konstantopoulos made a great save, but the defence just stood there and allowed Michael Jacobs to slot in the rebound.

Tomas Kalas and Santi Mina getting goals for Boro.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Middlesbrough 1 - 1 Watford

Patrick Bamford gave us the lead in this game, but we just couldn't hold on for the win, as Watford equalised through Matej Vydra. Midfielder Ben Watson was sent off late for Watford with his second bookable offence.

(CM) Grant Leadbitter went off injured with a thigh strain and will be out for 2 weeks.
(AM) Scott McDonald was also brought off with an injured ankle and will be out for 4 weeks.

At the end of October 2014 we now sit 3rd in the Sky Bet Championship after 14 games, and 27 points.

I was hoping for 6 points this month, and that is exactly what we got. We still remain unbeaten at The Riverside, and Emmanuel Ledesma is in terrific form.

November 2014 Fixtures

1st - Rotherham (Away)
4th - Norwich City (Home)
8th - Bournemouth (Home)
22nd - Wigan Athletic (Away)
29th - Blackburn Rovers (Home)

Barring Rotherham, the other 4 sides are in the top 8 of the table, so I'd be more than happy to just collect 7 points from these fixtures.

Good start mate - nice base to push on and challenge for the auto promotion spots!
