Middlesbrough 2 - 2 Nottingham Forest

A fair result here as both sides created great opportunities to win it.

Kike getting an early goal for Boro, then as Boro fell 2-1 behind, it was up to Tomas Kalas to rescue a point.

Forest had recently sacked manager Dougie Freedman, and therefore had Lennie Lawrence as assistant manager. He did great for his first game in charge.

Blackburn Rovers 1 - 1 Middlesbrough

Another well converted penalty for Boro scored by Grant Leadbitter.

I had to rest a couple of key players who were tired after the Nottingham Forest match, so overall I was happy with this point.

After 24 games and 41 points, we sit 4th in the Sky Bet Championship.

I hoped for 10 points this month, but we could only manage 6 points, so I was a bit disappointed with that.

January 2015 Fixtures

3rd - Walsall (FA Cup 3rd Round – Away)
10th - Reading (Away)
17th - Huddersfield (Home)
24th - Cardiff (Home)
31st – Brentford (Away)

I'm hoping we can obtain at least 8 points this month.

On the 1st January 2015, winger Albert Adomah left Middlesbrough to join Derby County.

Middlesbrough Football Club have just agreed on a contract of £14,000 p/w with 27 year old Austrian striker Erwin Hoffer. He will arrive on a free transfer from German 2nd Division team Dusseldorf. The transfer will go through on July 1st 2015 after Hoffer's contract expires. Hoffer is a prolific striker, one which Boro desperately needs.

Middlesbrough Football Club have just agreed on a contract of £11,500 p/w with 22 year old Spanish defensive midfielder Sergio Alvarez. He will arrive on a free transfer from Spanish LIGA Adelante team Sporting. The transfer will go through on July 1 2015 after Alvarez's contract expires. Alvarez is a gifted young player who could turn into a great player.

FA Cup Round 3

Walsall 1 - 1 Middlesbrough

Boro put out a weaker team today against League 1 side Walsall, and it was a result I wasn't happy about, so I made sure I told them. It's now an extra fixture we could do without.

I have these players knocking on my office door badgering me to play them or they threaten to leave. So I give them an opportunity and they give me a below par performance.

Scott McDonald got our only goal from the penalty spot, but we couldn't capitalise on it.

Middlesbrough Football Club today (8th January 2015) announce the departure of left back Damia to Wigan Athletic for £350,000.

Damia was earning £12,500 p/w with Boro, but only played 3 games because of injuries, but once fit couldn't force his way back into the team.

Reading 1 - 5 Middlesbrough

This is definitely our performance of the season. We'd won it by half time. Boro goals coming from Emmanuel Ledesma, Kike, a Matt Mills own goal, and a Patrick Bamford brace. Reading managed a consolation goal.

FA Cup Round 3 Replay

Middlesbrough 0 - 1 Walsall

What a shock result, but then it's no surprise really since I played a near enough same team as the previous Walsall fixture. My backup's were an embarrassment and I made sure they knew that. I'll be remembering these 2 games the next time they come knocking on my office door demanding game time.

I went home to my family in a rubbish mood, cracked open a few beers and then relaxed in front of the TV. I didn't sleep much that night because I knew I'd no doubt be called into the Chairman's office having to explain two woeful performances.

Middlesbrough 2 - 0 Huddersfield Town

Boro win 2-0 despite been down to 10 men, after centre back Daniel Ayala was sent off in the 43rd minute. A straight red card.

Kike and Santi Mina got the goals we needed to keep pace with the top 2 league teams.

Middlesbrough were dealt a considerable blow when centre back Daniel Ayala was banned for 1 match following his red card.

Midfielder Grant Leadbitter is banned for 2 matches after collecting 10 yellow cards.

On 18th January 2015, Middlesbrough Football Club are extremely happy to announce the signing of 21 year old Paraguayan full back, Rodrigo Alborno for £240,000 from Inter Milan. Alborno will join us on the 9th June 2015.

Alborno is a young left back with an excellent set of skills. He might take some adapting as he is unable to speak English.

Middlesbrough 1 - 0 Cardiff City

Substitute Santi Mina scored the only goal of the game to earn us a valuable 3 points against a battling Cardiff City team who are trying to steer clear of a relegation dogfight.

Striker Jelle Vossen wasn't in great form so wasn't getting a run in the first team, and asked if his loan contract to be terminated. On 29th January 2015, we agreed to this.

Vossen made 14 appearances for Middlesbrough, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist.

Brentford 0 - 3 Middlesbrough

This game was wrapped up by half time through a Santi Mina hat-trick, Kike providing 2 of these goals.

Boro's centre back Daniel Ayala has just returned from suspension, only to be sent off again on 62 minutes for a second bookable offence.

Just catching up on this one Biggie. Some clever transfers and good results there mate!

After 28 games in the Sky Bet Championship we sit 3rd with 53 points.

I'd hoped for 8 points this month, but we excelled and got a maximum 12 points, scoring 11 goals and only conceding 1 in those 4 games.

February 2015 Fixtures

7th - Charlton Athletic (Home)
10th - Blackpool (Away)
14th - Birmingham City (Away)
21st - Leeds Utd (Home)
24th - Bolton Wanderers (Home)
28th - Sheffield Wednesday (Away)

In a busy 6 fixture month, I would be looking to accrue 12 points from these games, since Charlton, Blackpool and Sheff Wed are currently in the bottom 3.
