Good start mate - nice base to push on and challenge for the auto promotion spots!

Yes definitely mate. We're losing so much money each month, so now I have no transfer funds, so might have to sell a player or two, to try and balance the books a bit.

Very good read so far mate! Hope you can steer Boro back to the prem where I think they belong!

Thanks mate. I usually start my FM careers in the lower leagues, so Boro is the highest placed team I've ever started with. They're my local team so it would be great to get them back in the big league.

Whey your from boro as well ;)

keep this story going its a good read I'm also from the mighty boro haha not long started my third season as middlesbrough currently in the premier league and I'm making money each season ;) I got to January and terminated jelle vossens loan deal and brought in El hamdaoui naturally a f9 but plays just as good as a poacher.

Ahhh cool.

Yeah I'd like to start making some money, as the Chairman has already put his hands in his pockets to balance the accounts. I'm not impressed with Vossen either. Same as I prefer Nsue at right back as opposed to Fredericks.

Kike is very disappointing so far, 4 goals in 19 games. I play him Advanced Forward, so don't know if that's why.

Rotherham Utd 2 - 1 Middlesbrough

This is certainly not the result I was expecting against 15th placed Rotherham. Our creative play was excellent, but the finishing was woeful.

The game was won in the first half by Rotherham, 2 goals in 4 minutes. Santi Mina gave us hope but it was too late. I kept the players in the room for a considerable length of time afterwards.

Unlucky vs Rotherham.. you always get the odd loss against a random side... its unexplainable! ;D

Midfielder Adam Clayton is having such a poor season. Wayward passes, shots going all over the place other than at goal, and to cap it off, a missed penalty against Rotherham in our previous game.

The board reminded me that the fans are voicing concerns over Clayton's performances.

I therefore called Clayton into my office for a meeting. I told him that he has a great skill set, but when it comes to game day he can't produce. In 17 games he's not scored, only has 1 assist, and has a poor 6.64 average rating. I told him that this wasn't good enough and that Birkir Bjarnason is pushing for his place in the squad. I was hoping for a positive response by Clayton, but his response was to continuously blame other players around him. He looked distant and not interested in anything I had to say so I shouted at him to get out of my office.

I'm now in two minds as to what to do with him.

Middlesbrough 1 - 1 Norwich City

I'm happy to have got a draw against top of the table Norwich. Emmanuel Ledesma scored a screamer of a goal in the 24th minute. Adam Forshaw gave away the penalty which Norwich equalised from. Midfielder Bradley Johnson was sent off for Norwich in the second minute of injury time for his second bookable offence.

Middlesbrough 3 - 0 Bournemouth

I'm delighted with this win against high flying Bournemouth. I didn't expect to win so convincingly, as the game was won before half time.

An own goal by right back Simon Francis got us rolling, followed by a Kike strike, and then who else to get our third but Emmanuel Ledesma.

Left back Damia only just comes back to match fitness then pulls his hamstring and is out for 3-4 weeks. It's frustrating because were paying him £12,500 p/w and he's only managed 2 games this season. At 32 years old it might be time to try and sell him.

Wigan Athletic 0 - 0 Middlesbrough

Nothing at all to get excited or shout about in this drab match.

Lee Williamson getting sent off after 14 minutes for Blackburn really helped us, but it took an Adam Forshaw free kick strike after 75 minutes to finally break down a stubborn Blackburn defence. We completely dominated the game after the midfielder was sent off.

At the end of November 2014, we sit 3rd in the Sky Bet Championship after 19 games, and 35 points.

I was hoping for 7 points this month, and we actually got 8 points.

How is Patrick Bamford doing for you? Has been banging in the goals for Birmingham in my save & has me curious.

December 2014 Fixtures

6th
- Millwall (Away)
13th - Derby County (Home)
20th - Ipswich Town (Away)
26th - Nottingham Forest (Home)
28th - Blackburn Rovers (Away)

I'm going to say that because we've been getting more points than I anticipated, I'd like to se us get around 10 points from these fixtures. Apart from Blackburn all teams are at the lower end of the table.

He was doing great to start with but then went on a goal drought for around 6+ games, then came back to form with 2 goals and an assist in 1 game. He has 10 for me so far. I'm unsure whether to sign him for the long term. It's a possibility because Kike has been quite poor.

From what I've seen in my save, I'd be keeping him around a bit longer ;)

Millwall 2 - 2 Middlesbrough

I wasn't happy with either the performance or result, so ripped into the team at full time. Millwall were towards the bottom of the table and twice came from behind to get a point.

Boro took the lead after a Patrick Bamford strike hit the crossbar and then ricochet off the back of GK Jordan Archer and into the net. Our second goal came from a great Emmanuel Ledesma shot inside the box.

On the 7th December 2014, Middlesbrough accepted an offer from Derby County for winger Albert Adomah. It was £650,000 up front followed by £1.5m over 48 months, taking the overall transfer to £2.2m.

Adomah only played bit parts for us, scoring 1 goal. He didn't feature in our setup and I couldn't offer him the first team football he wanted. So I abided by his wishes to sell him. He'll join Derby County on 1st January 2015.

Middlesbrough 0 - 1 Derby County

We finally lose our home unbeaten run of 12 games in all competitions. This game had everything, a penalty save by Boro keeper Dimitris Konstantopoulos, a goal ruled out for offside for both teams, Boro also hitting the woodwork twice, and Derby once.

------------------------------------------------------

Ipswich Town 1 - 3 Middlesbrough

Boro's first 2 goals came from Grant Leadbitter penalties, both conceded by Ipswich centre back Christophe Berra.

Ipswich then hit back on 58 minutes, and as they pressed to get the equaliser, Boro hit them on the counter attack and Kike finished the game off.
