The Youth Coach will post his 'story' on this thread.

The application form will be posted on the 'Apply For England Job' thread now. I'll appoint when Eds-99 has finished the WC, so tomorrow morning. 10am.

Hope I have the chance to work with the youth coach, wouldnt it be better though to appoint U-21 and
U-19 managers.

Wow, it's 8am on the morning of my first World Cup match. I've come so far in one year. It's amazing.

Despite the awful droning of vuvuthingys causing me to have around 3 hours sleep, I'm running of caffeine and adrenaline. This is the day my career really kicks off, I can't let it slip away.

I've changed the formation, slightly, as you can see. Owen Hargreaves has been in brilliant form for United once he recovered from injury and he's been a key part of their success. The formation is now 4-1-1-3-2, which is very similar, but the defense should be alot more solid.

The main worry is Edin Dzeko. We've brought up all tactics known to man to stop him, and there will be a man marking him at all times. Be it Owen, JT or Rio; they can all do the job.

And there we have it. English domination.

If you are to take a glance at the stats section there, you'll see how much we really did dominate. It's brilliant that we were in their half so much, and Micah Richards was still man of the match. A phenomenal effort from all the players and a solid, solid win.

I can't see many changes coming against Nigeria. Stevie G came off with a knock, but he'll be fine with a few days rest. Micah keeps GJ out the side, but Johnson's been recovering from an injury so isn't on tip-top-World-Cop form just yet.

All I can say is "Well played lads."

Fantastic result, English domination ! =D
Btw quick question, did dropping OH back to defensive mid help the defence and help control possesion, I find a DM usually does that anyway on to Nigeria, and PS i would check SG fitness before the game, perhaps rest him to avoid injury, we should get through the group easily enough but we dont wanna be without him for the knockout games.

PS. Look at your WOODWORK stat, shudve been 6-0 :P

Good controlling match against them the rest should be straight through now aa

What an exciting day. I'm in with the team at a nice hotel in Pretoria called Sheraton. The lads are buzzing and I've had my usual 4 weetabix with half a pint of semi-skinned milk and a glass of orange juice.

While I was munching away on my weetabix, I was discussing the team's lineup with my assistant, and we really didn't have much to discuss. Same lineup? Yeh, sorted.

Stevie G had a late fitness test this morning. He was fine physically, and he assured me he was mentally prepared. Joey Cole looked a tad tired at light training at the local astroturf, but he also told me he'd be fine. I'd probably give him 70 minutes.

Yet again, a brilliant performance from my boys.

The stats just show how much we did actually dominate. We were obviously alot better in the first half, we seemed to relax a bit in the second, not something I encourage at all.

Rio got a knock. That's not good. But Gary Lewin, our physio, has told me he'll be fine for the next game, he's only got a dead leg. I'll probably start him on the bench and bring him on if needs must.

The introduction of a Defensive Midfielder has been fairly big, in my opinion. Hargreaves was quality there and Gazza B was certainly solid when he came on.

Great win Eds through to the next round now. Gerrard seemed to prove he was fit with his goal :D

He was phenomenal. As well as his goal, he got 2 assists.

And no, we're not definately through yet.

If we lose to South Korea by more than 2 and Bosnia beat Nigeria by 3 or more then we come 3rd in the group.

Actually, yeh, we're through. :P

All we need is a draw today, that's easily doable against a sub-standard South Korean side. Park Ji-Sung is injured, and without him they've got no real threat to us.

Rio's still feeling it a bit, so I've decided to give him a break. Ledley King is Ledley King, though, so Rio'll get 15 minutes at the end.

Also decided to give Joey C a rest to bring in Milner. He's played very well for Villa and England this season and I see no reason why he can't dominate the Koreans.

Owen'll probably be coming off before full-time as he's still not fully recovered from his injury and I want him in awesome form for the knockouts. He's been awesome so far, but he is only human.

Another convincing victory and a brilliant performance from my main man, Wayne Rooney. He's on course for player of the tournament.

We ended up going through with Nigeria, yes Nigeria. Apart from us, every team only won 1 game and Nigeria, who were last going into the last game, ended up beating Bosnia and Herz.

In the Second Round we've got Russia. A very well-drilled side, under Guus Hiddink, they've got three men we need to be wary of. One is in goal, so that's sorted. The other two are both Premiership Stars. Andrei Arshavin will have to be marked by Ashley Cole. That dual is going to be so, so, so key to the end result. And the other key Russian is Zhirkov, we need to stop him advancing forward on his menacing runs.

I really think we can get through to the Quarters and beyond.

you know who u got in the next round and hopefully i got yo be ur youth manager

Russia, a good team but a team we should beat

3-1 to England Rooney(2) + Lampard with Arshavin scoring for them.
