English Premier League Chairman Game

Sunderland hold off big teams

Barclays Premier League
Sunderland 1 - 0 West Ham
Steven Fletcher 78'

Great result to start the season off, I wasn't expecting to win this game with such domination statistically, but we dominated them from start to finish. Darren Fletcher playing his debut for the club finishing the game with a whopping 86% pass completion (78 passes). Steven Fletcher bagging the winning goal late on in the game to wrap things up, Podolski also getting the assist on his debut.

Barclays Premier League

Manchester City 1 - 1 Sunderland
Steven Fletcher 58'
Sergio Aguero 85'

Yet another great result away to Man City, we were the clear underdogs in this game and many will be shocked with the result. With only having 2 shots on target all game and lack of possession it was a scrap of a draw for us. Steven Fletcher yet again bagging another crucial goal.

Capital One Cup 2nd Round

Luton 0 - 1 Sunderland
Danny Graham 34'

Expected.

Barclays Premier League
Sunderland 2 - 2 Arsenal
Darren Fletcher 37'
Alexis Sanchez 51'
Steven Fletcher 75'
Andre Ayew 86'

Blockbuster of a game at home against Arsenal. Darren Fletcher opening up the scoring on his 3rd appearance for his new side Sunderland, he yet again held the team together with an 87% pass completion percentage. CLASS. Steven Fletcher scoring yet again to make it his 3rd goal out of 3 appearances, with Podolski providing the assist again, impressed by their football, hope they keep this form running throughout the season
.With only two shots on goal and two goals scored, we were lucky to come away with the draw. However we conceded a goal in the last 5 minutes again to ****** 2 points off us. Roy Hodgson will hopefully notice this problem and solve it in the future.

Summary

As chairman of the club I couldn't be any happier with these starting results, with new signings Podolski and Fletcher showing full commitment to the side whilst playing high level football. With Roy Hodgson also stepping up to the plate and proved a point with these results. I hope the current form proceeds throughout the rest of the season.

I find it interesting that you pick up on Darren Fletchers pass completion of 86% and 87% and say that it is impressive to be at that level. I've always wondered what other people felt was an impressive level of pass completion on the game. I've generally been happy with anything above 80% but I have no idea how other people judge it. What would you call a good level to be at.

Should've done this before season started but people may be at risk of leaving the game as I am gonna tot up all people's updates and will decide whether people have done a sufficient amount

I would agree with you there on saying anything above 80% is worth been happy about. Podolski also is worth noting, 82% average pass completion with 3 assists out of the 4 goals that have been score whilst he was playing. Impressive so far?

I have been looking at my own midfields passing completion and my 3 CM's have impressive stats from my first match against Southampton. Matic has a success rate of 93.3% and completed 70 passes. Jones was 93.7% but completed only 59. Herrera's was lower at 83.5% but he completed 91 passes and I can imagine out of those 3 he is the one making the riskier long rang passes as well.

Indeed that is impressive and judging from your results it shows. Am I right haha? There was some amount of goals scored and this is where I think passing becomes crucial. If your players aren't passing well, you aren't creating chances, your creating mistakes. As it shows, the better your passing is the more chances are being created and the more goals are being scored. Especially with Midfielders, passing is the most important concept.

Everyone is safe, only just but everyone is. Some people have done alarmingly low updates. I won't be naming names but I expect more updates from people. I will be getting stricter over this season.

Also I'm going to bed now but if someone could advertise that there is 6 spots available check first page to see who I would do but I am knackered

I really struggled against Tottenham and was lucky to win the match. They dominated possession and the chances. Fellaini ended up having only a 67% successful passing rate. I will be looking at my midfields passing rates over the season more. And look at other players rates before I think about buying them.

That's how it's done mate, I always base things off statistics; because lets face it, they don't lie. Fletcher finished last season at United with 82% passing completion and Podolski had played 7 league games and scored 4 goals. Always, always, always check stats; I can't stress it enough. I'm glad someones on the same wave length as me haha.

Guys, it always seems that I'm busy on deadline day. Well guess what I am again woo! I'll be at my grandmas and then at town so will be missing a good few hours of deadline day.

Could someone be able to take note of transfer requests and C2C transfers for me please?

That means people would have to email you all transfer requests.

I'm not sure if I'll be around to comment after so, if people are kind enough to volunteer can the first person that volunteers be in control of transfer requests either till I get back or right up to 6pm. Could you then state clearly on the thread that you will be taking over with noting down transfer requests and can people please email you about transfer requests not me.

Thanks a lot, I really don't know why I'm most busy on these days. If no one is able to volunteer I will just have to set back releasing the update a bit as I will not have time to get through everything straight away

Juan Cuadrado - Brought in for 20million to rotate on the right wing with Sanchez and Walcott
Omer Toprak - Brought in for 12.5million which is a confusing deal as he was only the 5th choice center back at the club
Andrew Ayew- Costs 5.25million and is currently the 2nd best left winger but has potential to be in the squad's lineup for years to come
Leighton Baines - Fantastic deal for 17million as he slots straight into the first team and still has 3 years left in his prime, also a freekick specialist
Guido Janssen - Young centerback with potential to be a star premier league center back, only costs 2.2 million
Saidy Janko - Brought in as a player swap deal, has massive potential

Christian Benteke - Atrocious deal done by Arsene, after scoring many goals last season in only a short term of games it was thought we had found our new superstar, however Arsene decided to sell him for only 24 million to PSG
Nacho Monreal - the now third choice left back is sold to Bilbao for 4.2 million
Callum Chambers - The future england right back is sold to Manchester United for 7 million plus the future Italy right back Saidy Janko, a fantastic deal
Mikel Arteta - Sold to Newcastle for 900k with potential for bonuses if they avoid relegation, good deal for the ageing vice captain
Thomas Vermaelen - The ex- captain is sold to Inter for 9.25 million after stuggling to get into the first team for the last couple of seasons
Neven Subotic - The center back is sold for 4.8 million to Porto one season after joining for a much bigger fee after the club found itself with an abundance of center backs
Lukas Podolski - Bought by Sunderland for 3 million original fee, with much more money coming at the end of the season depending where Sunderland finish, after not being good enough to get into the team with many fantastic wingers

August

Thierry: We have started last season where we left off: very inconsistent. We started with an amazing 2-1 victory over current title holders Man City where William Carvalho scored an own goal to give us the 3 points. We were then beaten 1-0 by Southampton, a game in which we controlled the play but our finishing really let us down. The final game of the month came in the form of a 2-2 draw with Sunderland. Andre Ayew scored a late equaliser to give us the point. 4 points out of 9 is not good enough for a title challenger side and I hope that after our new signings settle in we should be winning most of our matches. There are still a few players I have been hunting for in the market including a goalkeeper, a right back, a striker and some youth. If we get all these players we should be right up there at the end of the season. The champions league group draw has been fairly tough on us, drawing us against current Champions League holders Bayern Munich. However, it should be easy to qualify for the next round as the other 2 teams in the group are PSV Eindhoven and APOEL Nicosia. Remember the promise I made last season Arsene. If you do not win our trophy, you will find yourself looking for a new job. That will be all.

If at any point today you become unavailable avfc I will fill in the slot, ill be available till 6PM at the least.

AUGUST FOR STOKE CITY

Chelsea - 1-3 (Ings)

A loss to kick off the season but to be fair to our new manager Mandorlini, it was against Chelsea. A team in my opinion favourites for the title. Nice to see new signing Ings getting on the scoresheet. I have big expectations for Ings this season, perhaps too big but we'll see.

Aston Villa - 0-1

These are the matches we need to be taking points from if we want to steer clear of another relegation battle this season. Rather disappointed that we didn't take at least one point from this quite even match.

Wolves - p1-1 (Campbell) Capitol One

It's nice to advance onto the next round but I feel we should've been able to take this match before we reached extra time. Another new signing in Frazier Campbell scored for us. Technically our first win but really it's a draw.

Hull - 1-1 (Arnautovic)

Our first point in the league this season courtesy of an 87th minute strike from a transfer listed Arnautovic. Again, would've liked more from this match but it's nice to get a point on the board. Hopefully, we can push on in September.

I'm also personally excited to see how Ings copes at this level of football too, will be keeping an eye out on him. Interesting.
