Lol it's not hard mate, just keep trying new things and you'll get used to everything. Also I've kept the same tactic since I started, that helps a lot.
Yep, Chelsea offered I think it was £11M at the start of the season and was regretting not leaving him go before this window as I didn't think I'd get that offer again. The only other problem with this deal is the money's coming in over 24 months :S
Just caught up on the new season Mike and once again you are doing great, high points for me were the 5-4 win over Barca and the signing of Van Persie, low point had to be your Champions League exit... unlucky mate.
Liked the kits, out of interest how did you make those and do they appear in your game? Keep up the good work buddy, this is a great story.
Yeah, really pleased with the Barca win and van Persie signing also. I've decided for next season to concentrate mainly on the Champs League, as this season I've been going for the league and Spanish Cup too. Another high point is that I've yet to lose in the league.
This is about the kits. I made them on Photoshop after downloading templates. There's templates on the site if you want to have a look, highly recommended.
Liga BBVA match 23:ESPANYOL 5 :0 Murcia – S. Pienaar (27), R. van Persie (31), C. Vela (37), D. Prieto (41), V. Obinna (53)
A game in which every single “first-team” player was rested, Espanyol finish the match as triumphant winners. Pienaar scored the first, which was a header. 4 minutes later Robin van Persie scores his first of hopefully many for the club. Vela added a third with his head, while 4 minutes before half-time centre half David Prieto scored a 30-yard screamer. Victor Obinna scored the only goal in the second half.
Pleased all-round.

Spanish Cup Semi Final Leg 1:Sevilla 0: 2 ESPANYOL – R. Soldado (45+1, 80)
Well what can I say other than, “What a game!” With everything looking good going towards half-time, Roberto Soldado scores his 21st goal of the season in all competitions with a well-placed shot. He then scored again late on to give Espanyol a 2-0 away goal advantage going into the second leg!
Very happy with the away win.

Liga BBVA match 24:ESPANYOL 4 :0 Hercules – V. Obinna (1), J. Forlin (28, 53, 66)
A fantastic win here, with Victor Obinna once again pleasing me. Maybe I was wrong to leave him out of my first team early this season. Seeing central defender Juan Forlin scoring a hat-trick – 3 headers from 3 corners – was very pleasing and entertaining. Maybe I was wrong to drop him too. Too many good players in the team XD
Very pleased with everything today.

Spanish Cup Semi Final Leg 2:ESPANYOL 1(3) : (0) 0 Sevilla – R. Soldado (76)
With Espanyol already 2-0 up from the first leg, it was important that goals conceded was kept to few, if possible zero. Defensive mentality was high, but when Sevilla attempted an attack 15 minutes from time, Roberto Soldado countered and scored a screamer from the edge of the area.
Glad to get the win, Final, here we come!

Liga BBVA match 25:Athletico Madrid 1: 2 ESPANYOL – R. van Persie (59, 65)
One thing I intended to do today and that was go ultra-defence, as At. Madrid’s home record thus far has been outstanding. With us absolutely dominating the first half, I decided to attack, and new signing Robin van Persie popped up twice to score two fantastic goals. Pablo got Madrid’s reply.
Really chuffed with performance and goals.

EURO Cup 1st Knockout Leg 1: Sturm Graz 0 : 3 ESPANYOL – S. Keita (16), V. Obinna (24, 90)
Victor Obinna proved once again why he is worthy of a first team spot. Two fantastically taken goals, along with a Seydou Keita screamer, virtually guaranteed a next-round tie. It’s not over yet though.
A sensational performance, elated with Obinna.

Liga BBVA match 26:Getafe 0 : 0 ESPANYOL
Going into this match, Getafe were hot favourites to beat us, and the pre-match analysis said that they favoured the home team for a 3-0 win XD that wasn’t to be though as no goals were scored, and few chances were created.
Despite a few chances to score, was happy with the defending done.

EURO Cup 1st Knockout Leg 2:ESPANYOL 5(8) : (2) 2 Sturm Graz – V. Obinna (21, 45+1, 85), David (25), M. Hurtado (42)
I’m really starting to consider Victor Obinna to be worthy of a place in the starting line-up in future, but the continuing impressing performances of Soldado’s keeping him at bay. A fantastic hat-trick for him today, followed by Spain U21 captain David and Moises Hurtado’s 25 yard goal put us comfortably through to the next round against LOSC Lille Metropole.
Very pleased by everything today.

NOTE: When the draw for the EURO Cup Knockout Stages was drawn, I was paired with Sturm Graz, and we would go on to play either Fenerbahce or Lille, but it appears that I’ve been drawn against Lokomotiv Moscow. Is this a bug? Has it happened to someone else? I’m just really confused!
Liga BBVA match 27:ESPANYOL 3 : 0 Real Madrid – K. Benzema O.G. (26), R. van Persie (32), R. Soldado (34)
Going into this match, Espanyol were heavy favourites to come out on top. I started with arguably my strongest line-up (bar Marquez due to Keita injury), and it turned out to be a fantastic match. Karim Benzema scored the first for us from a corner, then 6 minutes later Robin van Persie scored a fantastic solo effort. No more than 2 minutes later, top-scored Soldado added another and set up our sensational 3-0 win.
Surprised by the score, but was deserved. Elated.

Liga BBVA match 28: Racing 0 : 0 ESPANYOL
A really good match for the neutrals to watch, but only because it was end-to-end stuff. Not much to say about this game. Fortunately, Athletico managed only a draw but Real Madrid came away with a win.
Disappointed not to score, but that's football.

Thursday, 14th. EURO Cup 2nd Knockout Leg 1:ESPANYOL 3 :2 Lokomotiv Moscow – R. van Persie (46), M. Iwanski O.G. (64), R. Soldado (90+1)
Totally underestimated Lokomotiv in this match. They held a 1-0 lead at half time, and seeing us go 2-1 up was very pleasing. They equalised soon after and Soldado got the injury time winner. It was a very frustrating game, and it sets up a difficult tie away in Russia.
Unhappy with overall performance, glad to get the win.

Liga BBVA match 29:ESPANYOL 1 :0 Villarreal – David (82)
With the odds stacked against Villarreal it was important to get the goals. With the away team with probably their strongest outing in a while, and Espanyol without Chica and Soldado, it wasn’t going to be an easy game. I’m not very pleased to say that not much at all happened in the match, and the only talking point being David’s goal on 82 minutes.
Good results against a strong opponent.

EURO Cup 2nd Knockout Leg 2:Lokomotiv Moscow 0(2) : (8)5 ESPANYOL – C. Vela (18, 62, 90), Valdo (74), A. Guardado (81)
I did not expect what is to follow. I honestly thought that Moscow would’ve beaten me today. Carlos Vela scored a stunning hat-trick from left wing position, Valdo scored a free-kick, and Guardado finished off a 5-0 drubbing of the Russian side. Espanyol progress after what was a truly unexpected and unbelievable match.
Very, very happy.

Liga BBVA match 30:ESPANYOL 2 :0 Barcelona – Z. Ibrahimovic O.G. (19), R. Soldado (37)
Choosing my squad for today’s match, I almost had a wall full of laptop as half my first team players are on international duty – Pinto, Guardado, Vela, Obinna and Gago This however didn’t stop Soldado and co going on a rampage. Barcelona’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic put us ahead with an own goal from a corner 10 minutes in, and 10 minutes before half time Roberto Soldado added another to his tally to take the score to 2-0. This is how it stayed throughout the match.
A really good performance by everyone, and good scoreline.

You are so unlucky Mike, this is probably one of the most interesting stories on the site yet no one seems to comment on it, but some people get stories with hundreds of comments no matter how good they are.
