Yeah, I'm getting concerned. Must get 3 points every game now to progress I think :S

Yeah, I'm getting concerned. Must get 3 points every game now to progress I think :S

hmmmm, hows vela getting on? would have thought if he still wanted to leave then he'd be trying his best to attract the interest of top clubs by playing well at the highest level in europe...?

if you go out at least you can fully concentrate on the league. i know its not much consolation but thats always how i console myself lol...

Well he's kept his hole shut so far, but as you can see he's only scored one all month which is quite disappointing. Even Victor Obinna has scored more and he's played less. Recall for Obinna? :P

I'd love to win the league again, but I'm really trying to push for the Champs League this season (as my sig says), but yeah concentration will be high on the league, and maybe even the Spanish Cup. Or maybe even the Europa League again if I crash out early in Europe XD

naughty little mexican!!!

ive always liked the look of obina because physically hes a beast, but im not sure i would have confidence in his technical ability. but if hes scoring then you should play him imo, hes such a big unit, fast as well.

im sure the fans would love a league cup double lol. whats the board expectation for europe?

He's a quality player, but Vela's better, on paper anyway.

Latter stages :S Maybe I shouldn't have won the league so early XD

Your doing great mate. you got a real good team, whats obinna like ?
whats with the kit teaser ? :P

Cheers pal, Obinna's a great player, I'm not playing him enough though I don't think (as the conversation above shows). Vela's being a 'naughty little Mexican' according to jdm and Obinna's really good cover. Maybe I should let him go to Chelsea so Obinna can play lol

Bringing out new kits just for fun, and I'm only gonna show a little bit of the kit at the end of each month, so this month is the collar on all three kits :P

yeah vela is brill. naughty little mexican lool.. how much would you get for obinna ?
not a bad idea would keep people interested and coming back to your story 8-|

Not too sure now, but when Chelsea wanted to buy him they offered £11.75M. Maybe I should have accepted, it would have been an £11.75M profit XD

i was just about to buy obinna on my crystal palace save as hes on the transfer list but cant afford the wages so just signed bojinov instead. yeah think you should have sold him mate thats a great price..

Argh, talk about game of the season! Updates hopefully by tonight.

NOVEMBER

Saturday, 3rd.

Liga BBVA match 9: ESPANYOL 1 : 0 Real BetisR. Soldado (69)
It was a match in which both teams attacked from the off. Roberto Soldado was the only scorer on the day, and he also missed a penalty just before half time. We had to contain Betis for the last 15 minutes as they switched to a 3-2-5 (LOL) formation. In the end it was a deserved and hard-fought win.

Decent performance, great goal by Soldado.

• Average Rating: 6.92
• Man of the Match: Waldo Ponce, 7.5
• Number of goals scored: 30
Current league standing: 2nd

Tuesday, 6th.

Champions Cup match 4: ESPANYOL 0 : 0 Juventus
A really boring 0-0 draw. I honestly expected something out of this game, at least a goal scored or conceded maybe. It was a really drab match where nothing happened.

Disappointed not to attack much, but pleased with defending.

• Average Rating: 7.05
• Man of the Match: Giorgio Chiellini, 7.5
• Number of goals scored: 30

Not much chance of qualifying now – I still have Lyon to play (at home), but can still make up for it with a good performance away at Bursaspor. Juventus still have these two to play, and I’m sitting only 3 points behind them, so let’s hope I can get the goals flowing.

Friday, 9th.

The mind games start as Josep Guardiola tells Espanyol manager Wayne Thomas that confidence is high at the Camp Nou, and his side fear absolutely nobody.

Thomas replied saying his side will have no trouble beating Barca at their home ground on Saturday. Time will only tell who will be victorious in the match.

Saturday, 10th.

Liga BBVA match 10: Barcelona 4 : 5 ESPANYOLValdo (7), A. Guardado (22), R. Soldado (26), J. Verdu (29), Geromel (50)
Both managers were hoping today that the day will be theirs – but only one came out winning. Espanyol kick-started the game with a goal on 7 minutes through Valdo, and from there, the goals just kept coming. Espanyol were 4-1 up at half time thanks to goals from Guardado, Soldado and Verdu. Centre back Geromel got the only goal in the second half for the away side as they let Barcelona attack and attack. But it was to be Espanyol’s day as they contained Barca to a 5-4 victory. Talk about one **** of a game! (Oh and btw, credit goes to JP Woody as this was the first time I used his v1.1 high scoring 4-2-3-1 tactic.)

Ecstatic. ****** ecstatic.

• Average Rating: 7.43
• Man of the Match: Geromel, 8.1
• Number of goals scored: 35
Current league standing: 2nd

Tuesday, 13th.

Spanish Cup 4th Round Leg 2: ESPANYOL 2 (6 (six)) : (1) 1 MelillaB. Sahar (6 (six)), J. Forlin (85)
This was a match that I really wasn’t bothered about winning or not due to being 4-0 up from the first leg anyway. A great performance all-round from the likes of Torric, Smiljanic and David. Ben Sahar scored on six minutes, and central defender Forlin scored a magnificent header to seal the home win, and taking the aggregate score up to 6-1.

Pleased with the youngsters showing their talent.

• Average Rating: 7.05
• Man of the Match: Juan Forlin, 7.7
• Number of goals scored: 37

Sunday, 18th.

Liga BBVA match 11: ESPANYOL 2 : 0 AlmeriaValdo (45+1), S. Pienaar (86)
I was hoping to give Victor Obinna his chance to shine in this game, but he got injured two days previous and is out for around a month. For the whole of the first half, literally every shot (apart from Valdo’s goal) was off target. A little confidence boost at half time was given, and impact-sub Pienaar got the second goal to seal the win.

Really good performance, confident. Good goals too.

• Average Rating: 7.13
• Man of the Match: Valdo, 7.7
• Number of goals scored: 39
Current league standing: 2nd

Wednesday, 21st.

Liga BBVA match 12: ESPANYOL 1 : 0 Racing – R. Soldado (55)
Confidence was high going into this match, but there was no rout this time. A spectacular vollet from Soldado 10 minutes after the half-time break was enough to take home all three points and keep the pressure on Real Madrid at the top of the table, who only managed a draw.

Can’t complain about the result, but happy to keep up with Madrid.

• Average Rating: 7.09
• Man of the Match: Asmir Begovic, 7.5
• Number of goals scored: 40
Current league standing: 2nd

Sunday, 18th.

Liga BBVA match 13: Xerex 0 : 0 ESPANYOL
A game we must win to keep the gap to only one point between us and Real Madrid. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. All chances were squandered in this tight and well-fought battle. Xerex did have a goal disallowed for ‘offside’ – replays show he was around half a yard onside, throwing in the bin the question about the referees ‘always getting the decisions right’.

Again, no complaints about the result. Decent performance.

• Average Rating: 6.94
• Man of the Match: Asmir Begovic, 7.6
• Number of goals scored: 40
Current league standing: 2nd

Thankfully, Real Madrid only managed a 1-1 draw away at Racing.

Wednesday, 28th.

Champions Cup match 5: ESPANYOL 4 : 1 BursasporB. Sahar (38), L. Garcia (48, 56), J. Forlin (52)
Things got off to a bad start when stand-in left back David Garcia got himself on the scoresheet – for the wrong reason. On 6 minutes we were one-down, but after Sahar equalised, the goals kept coming, and I’m really pleased with Luis Garcia’s performance. Almost makes me want to regret leaving him go. Oh well.

Good solid second half, pressure on Juventus as they lost 2-0.

• Average Rating: 7.60
• Man of the Match: Luis Garcia, 8.7
• Number of goals scored: 44

Pleasing points of the month

• Beating Barcelona on their own home turf.
• Luis Garcia’s performance against Bursaspor.
• Scoring 14 goals in 8 games.

Disappointing points of the month

• Perhaps a bit more pressure could have been put on Juventus in the Champions Cup match.
