Sunday, 2nd.
16:00: Espanyol bid for Vukojevic. The Croat’s contract runs out in 6 months’ time, and Espanyol have offered him a contract as he takes little wages.
Liga BBVA match 14: ESPANYOL 1 : 0 Athletic Bilbao – J. Verdu (6 (six))
A really drab match, but a deserved win for us today. Verdu put us in front with a curling free-kick from the edge of the area. That was basically the only thing worth telling you about, so that’s all I shall mention.
Disappointing performance, but Madrid lost so I’m top.

18:00: Vukojevic set to sign for Espanyol. He will sign for Espanyol on June 2nd, and the 28 year old will receive £22.5K per week.
Liga BBVA match 15: ESPANYOL 2 : 1 Sevilla – S. Pienaar (19), A. Guardado (31)
I just want to say how happy I am to have won this match. Sevilla did not once sit back, they attacked and attacked, and they got their goal, but not before Pienaar and Guardado put us 2-0 up. Sevilla were heavy favourites for this match, but we came out stronger.
Really happy with both defending and attacking, and pleased with the result.

12:00: Espanyol sign Michael Owen. The 37 year old Englishman has been appointed as Espanyol’s main Youth Coach, earning only £525 per week. He is also England’s U21 team manager.
Saturday, 8th.
Liga BBVA match 16: Valencia 2 : 2 ESPANYOL – C. Vela (32, 86)
Big result, especially after going 2-1 down with only 7 minutes to go. Carlos Vela scored two tap-ins: the first after a drilled cross from Guardado, and the second from a whipping free-kick from David Beckham. Nacho Gonzalez and David Villa’s penalty were good enough for the draw.
Pleased with result despite bad performance.

9:00: Espanyol manager shows interest in van Persie. The 29 year old Arsenal man has attracted Wayne Thomas’ interest in recent weeks and is rumoured to be launching a bid to tempt him to Spain. This may be a huge setback though as Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will ask for a minimum of around £19M.
To this, Robin van Persie reacted in a good manner, stating that if the right offer comes in, he’ll consider switching to the Spanish champions.
Monday, 10th.
15:00: Thomas launches bid for van Persie. The Espanyol manager has bid for Robin van Persie, and the amount bid is £20M - £5M up-front with 48 monthly instalments of £15M.
Tuesday, 11th.
15:00: Arsenal negotiation over van Persie. Arsene Wenger has clearly stated that he is not interested in Espanyol’s offer, and has hit van Persie with a £48M price tag. Ouch!
Espanyol re-bid for Robin van Persie, an offer of £23.75M with £7.5M up front.
Champions Cup match 6: Olympique Lyonnais 1 : 0 ESPANYOL
I could not have asked for a better effort from the team today (obviously avoiding the fact we could have scored!), but Lyon were better than us everywhere on the pitch. 0-0 at half time and everything looking okay, but Pjanic’s goal on 51 minutes was enough to seal the victory and send Espanyol packing.
Out of the competition, proud of the effort.

Wednesday, 12th.
19:45: van Persie offer accepted. The amount offered was good enough to win over Arsene Wenger.
Espanyol offered the star striker £80K per week deal for four years, with the man himself pocketing £1.7M. His minimum release fee will be £100M.
Saturday, 15th.
13:00: van Persie set to sign for Espanyol. The Dutchman was impressed enough by the contract offer and accepted. It is believed that this will pave the way for Vela to leave the club.
Sunday, 16th.
Liga BBVA match 17: ESPANYOL 5 : 3 Valladolid – R. Soldado (15, 34, pen 84), J. Forlin (27), J. Villar O.G. (42)
Possibly the best performance all season. We go one-down early on (1 minute in fact!) and come back and score 4 before half time. Soldado scoring the perfect hat-trick (right foot, left foot, header), Juan Forlin scored a header from a corner, and his second header came off the Valladolid keeper.
Great performance, good result.

Wednesday, 19th.
Liga BBVA match 18: ESPANYOL 1 : 0 Tenerife – David (32)
A really boring match to say the least, but a win’s a win, and I’ll take that any day. Spanish U21 captain David scored the only goal in the game, a fantastic run through the centre of the park and bottom corner strike gave the keeper no chance.
Despite the boring game, pleased with the result.
