Stoke 1 DYK 1

Absolutely unfair on Stoke. Gutted for them. Absolute sickener.

How? Dynamo Kiev played very well. They deserved at least a point. TBH more than that :)

Spurs 0-0 FT.

Fully deserved point considering the side we had out there. Hanging on over last 5 minutes, but proud of the players that went out there.

Bit harsh to say we didn't look interested, the players that played were interested, can't balme them that Redknapp picked them.

Also, Rubin Kazan away, I dont think that the team will be that young.

Well done to the kids, better side for well over an hour, and the lad Yago Falque looked great, probably better that Dos Santos!!!! And certainly better than Pav, who shot EVERYTIME he was within 40 yeards of the goal! - ****!!!!!

Agree that Champs League 3rd place teams shouldn't be rewarded with another shot at silverware for the failure of not qualifying, but then what do you expect from a competition for 'Champions' that finish 4th! - Not that I was complaining last season!

COYS

I really don't know why are you people downplaying europa league, its a competition for middle, smaller european clubs and gives them a chance to get some kind of european trophy if they can't compete in champ. league amongst elite...ofcourse its quality isnt near champ. league but imo this is good competition and just because some idiot redknapp doesn't take it serious and can't realise that is his best chance of winning any kind of trophy this season, and because stoke is boring as usual that doesn't mean its lame competition.

Haven't downplayed it per se-don't like the format that teams that fail to make it in the CL, have a chance of making it in the EL. And I pretty much enjoyed the Stoke game. I only wish Redknapp would take it seriously

The European trip properly starts again. Let's continue our 16 played 13 won 3 drawn home record in Europe!

But Stoke defended superbly too, and DYK were very wasteful in the first half, and Schevchenko made a few mistakes too. Stoke deserved all 3 tbh. Ref got a bit carried away at times though.

Looks like a full house at St Andrews which is good to see. Hope Hughton does well in the tournament.

I agree with what you say, as a Spurs fan and with the current general opinion of the majority of fans, MUCH of what Redknapp is doing/saying at the moment, is ******* us off.

However, I think he had faith in the kids he played, a choice reflected by a good 0-0 draw in an intimidating atmosphere. Falque looked great, probably better than Dos Santos and maybe imo, jumped him in the pecking order.

Furthermore, I reckon as the competition progresses, Redknapp will pick stronger sides (he'll have to for Rubin away, or we'd get destroyed!), but given the injuries we have atm, combined with our next game being a MASSIVE game against a Liverpool side who have no game this week and would be MUCH fresher, I can kinda understand where he's coming from.

But totally agree with you, 3rd place Champs league side joining competition is a poor joke!

well i didn't targeted you..just speaking in general, but with CL rejects europa league gains on fixtures so it can't be bad, that means more games on tv to watch and also some really quality clubs end up 3rd in grp of CL so it adds even more to competition..and i agree kiev-stoke was good game...one side perhaps, glad to see vukojevic scoring ^^)

Which makes the transfer window even more ridiculous for Spurs fans. Badly needed players but didn't buy when he needed to badly. Even 1 or 2 players would've helped the cause

Birmingham 1-0 down. Just after Rooney so nearly got City the lead. Was an excellent goal though

Which could be a downside though. Bigger clubs playing, then potentially injuries to key players, then the fans start questioning wether or not they should be in a "lesser" tournament-especially if involved in a title battle. Kind of a catch 22 really.

well i think that what you just said really is the reason for some of people to downplay europa league but those fans do not realise their club isn't really world class like chelsea, real, man.u,etc and so they become unrealistic and think of europa league as lesser competition..anyway watching udinese-rennes atm and its good match

Didn't know Arda played for Atletico. It just keeps getting worse.

Arda, the Turkish fella? He is quality! They've made a couple of decent signings, still not good enough to get anywhere near making La Liga entertaining outside of the top 2 walking it. Shame becuase that could be entertaining with another 2-3 teams to challenge for honours?

Yep, didn't know they'd signed him or Falcao before tonight!
The clostest anyone has come recently is Valencia, like 23 points behind or something. Would be nice right enough, but it would also be nice in the SPL. Odd comparison I suppose but the idea is the same.

HA HA! I know what you mean, hilarious comparison but I get it. I knew they had Falcao-he'll score goals for them-, becuase I wanted Spurs should go for him in the summer, but we did NOTHING all summer instead!

But Arda is a naughty little player, my Turkish mate was banging on about him well before last season so I've kinda followed him for a while now. But as we established, not enough. And for closest 3rd place to be 23 points behind, thats insane!

Although, they're World Cup holders, so maybe this is the way forward! I'm confussed now...........

Well, it's the only time I'd ever be able to make a comparison between the SPL and La Liga, so why not?
I've got an old Galatasaray top with 'ARDA 66' on the back.

Ha, that's true, so Scotland can't be far off a World Cup! *crosses fingers and chuckles uneasily*

Enjoyed the Atletico Celtic game so far. Also I am happy that I am getting to see Courtois in action for the first time :).

Whats with you and moaning lately? So far we have played well and almost matched them depite missing our Captain, Izzy (arguably out best player) and Stokes.

Sorry, moaning? What's with you and being ridiculously cutting with what you say to people?
Please note that comment was made when Falcao scored, and I still think what I thought about us in the EL: we're leaving by Crimbo. I wouldn't say we've matched them, we have played beyond my expectations, bu they've made us look like schoolboys at times. Thankfully, we've been better in the second half than the first.

I don't think we'd be any better off with Broony right now, I'm not sure how Stokes would be doing, but I think Izzy could've made an impact on the left if he were here.

EDIT: *ahem* Looks like 2-0. Shcoking defending, Arda runs rings round us and we look like schoolboys.

Ruling us out by saying the destruction begins after a few minutes is being silly. We have played very well imo and are unlucky to be 2-0 down.
