Newcastle United are the new Barlcays Premier League 'Invincibles' after their win over Tottenham not only saw them win the title, but also saw them complete their 38th league game unbeaten, the first team to do so since Arsenal in the early 2000's. Spurs went to Newcastle looking to have a better end to a very disapointing season which saw David Moyes sacked from the manager's seat in the process, however it was Newcastle who took the lead through Demba Ba, who has had a heavenly end to a season from **** as he picks up his 2nd goal in 2 games in the 44th minute, if reports are to be believed then Ba will not be a Newcastle player next season. Papiss Cisse then scored in the 52nd minute to grab his 15th goal since returning from a long string of injuries, it was an image from last season seeing Ba and Cisse amongst the scorers and celebrating together which gave the game a rather sentimental feel. Huddlestone scored for Tottenham in the 65th minute but it could not give his side the required push.

Tyler Hutchinson's high-flying Magpies have picked up yet another honour under the young local manager and reiterrate that they'll be staying at the top as long they have anything to do with it. However it was Manchester United who took the lead as they looked to gain revenge for the recent FA Cup final with Wayne Rooney scoring a scrappy goal in the 17th minute to send the red half of Wembley into raptures. From then on Newcastle looked flat and were in need of some inspiration as they recieved constant pressure from the Red Devils. They looked to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to provide the spark as he replaced Papiss Demba Cisse on the hour mark, and 10 minutes later the Toon won a corner which resulted in Jan Vertonghen rising up and nodding home which allowed the Geordie faithful in Wembley to let their belief rise. Newcastle were then in complete control as they carried momentum and this paid off in the 83rd minute as game-changer Aubameyang scored a belter to win Newcastle the Champions League!View attachment 239234

Newcastle United have planned a busy Summer transfer window ahead of them with many in's and out's expected. All eyes will initially be on Demba Ba as he earlier claimed Newcastle will sell him upon his request, however he experienced a healthy end to the season so it will be interesting to see wether that persuades him to stay or maybe raises his value, with Newcastle reportedly valuing the Senegalese hitman at around £10m. The Magpies will also look to cash in on un-needed back up players whom they think a sizeable transfer fee could be recieved, such as as Sulley Muntari and Dan Gosling, the latter being the subject of interest from Tottenham, Birmingham and Bolton. Newcastle have kept quiet on their transfer targets but The Chronicle understands that Newcastle are seeking up to 7 players plus replacement for departures.

Newcastle Careers under Tyler Hutchinson
(Dan Gosling - Demba Ba - Adel Taraabt)

Newcastle United have today announced three departures from the Tyneside club. Firstly a deal that was completed before the transfer window opened was that of Adel Taraabts transfer to West Bromwich Albion, the deal cost the Midlands club £2.5m. Taraabt fell out with Hutchinson after he was unhappy with playing time and then started being absent from training, he leaves just 16 months and 19 appearences after joining Newcastle in January 2012 for £3.5m. Secondly, a transfer that has been rumoured in recent weeks, young English midfielder Dan Gosling has left Newcastle to join Birmingham for a reported £8m. Gosling has struggled to become anything more than a bit-part player at Newcastle, looking impressive when called upon has alerted other clubs who will offer him much-deseired first team action which is what Birmingham have done. Finally, a deal which has been on and off for around 6 months as Newcastle's luckless fan favourite striker Demba Ba has departed for Fulham in a £9m move. Fans, teammates and Hutchinson are all saddened by the move but Demba believed Newcastle could do better than him, they are a club he loves and hopes he will return one day. The 28-year-old is said to be relieved he is staying in Premier League.

what do you lot think of maybe incorporating video highlights and more video in general into match reports and others for the upcoming season?

I would include match stats for both teams into the reports on the games.

Xisco and Sulley Muntari depart Tyneside

Newcastle United have today confirmed
that fringe players Xisco and Sulley Muntari have left the club. Xisco leaves on a Bosman after never breaking into the first team since he was signed back in 2008 for £6m from Deportivo La Coruna, the Spanish forward managed around 10 appearences for Newcastle with 1 goal. Ghanian defensive midfielder Sulley Muntari was signed on a free transfer last summer on a 1-year-deal with the option to add a further 2 years. Newcastle activated that option to prevent losing Sully on a free and so he has signed for Liga BBVA side Valencia for £6m after making 14 appearences and scoring 1 goal last season on Tyneside. Young striker Nile Ranger has also left Newcastle to Bolton in a £1m deal for the troubled forward.

Nathanial Clyne, Danny Welbeck and Mattia Destro sign on
Newcastle have been busy to bring people in to Tyneside as they look to further strengthen in the hunt for their 3rd consecutive league title. Nathanial Clyne has been signed on a Bosman from Crystal Palace but a compensation fee was needed for the England Under-21 righ back and that was settled at £2m, Clyne is seen by Hutchinson as the long-term replacement for Danny Simpson. Mattia Destro arrived from Serie A side Genoa on a free transfer, the Italian 22 year old formerly played for Inter Milan and looks to have a bright future on Tyneside and Hutchinson labels this as "definitley one for the future". Finally the Magpies have brought in 22 year old England international striker Danny Welbeck from Manchester United for £7.8m. Danny is the immediate replacement for Demba Ba, who departed to Fulham earlier in the window. Danny has the potential to fill Demba's boots and better his record here as his best years are very much still ahead of him.

Newcastle United have today confirmed the signing of
21 year old Denmark international midfielder Cristian Eriksen. Sky Sports News understands that the move for the playmaker is upwards of £10m and the move has started rumours that Hatem Ben Arfa's time on Tyneside is coming into question. Eriksen is very excited by the move to the 'best team in England' and linking up with his new team-mates which he considers the best of the best. "Joining Newcastle was an easy decision because of their fans, manager and success. I spoke to Jan (Vertonghen) and he fully persuaded me to join. I have some exciting years ahead on Tyneside."

Mohamed Diame, Vladimir Weiss and Cheick M'Bengue

Today, Newcastle United have announced 3 more arrivals to an ever-increasing squad thanks the spending of manager Tyler Hutchinson. Firstly, 26 year old Senegalese midfielder Mohamed Diame has arrived from Paris Saint Germain for £3m, Diame joined PSG from Wigan for £5.5m 2 years ago but has been itching to return to The Premier League and the champions of Europe have offered him that chance. Next, Vladimir Weiss has finally secured his move from Manchester City as the Magpies paid out £3m for the Slovakian winger's services, Vladimir spent last season on loan at Aston Villa and heavily impressed Hutchinson, Weiss is seen as the replacement for Sporting-bound Isaac Cuenca. Finally, Newcastle have signed 25 year old Senegalese left back Cheick M'Bengue from Toulouse for a reported £8m. Cheick is expected to add some much needed competition and cover for Davide Santon at left back.

Sammy Ameobi, Danny Simpson, Mehdi Abied and Isaac Cuenca

As well as signings Newcastle have been working hard on departures to balance the books. Sammy Ameobi is heading to Belgium on a season-long loan to AC Beerschot to gain experience, Shane Ferguson will also join him there. Danny Simpson has departed to Premier League side Queens Park Rangers for £5m after the arrival of Nathaniel Clyne inevitabley spelled the end for Simpson who joins QPR on the back of an impressive season for himself and his new team. Mehdi Abied has jetted over to France to start a season-long loan deal at FC Metz where Hutchinson believes he will have his chance to show why he will be a vital player in the Premier League. Isaac Cuenca has left Newcastle for Sporting Gijon in Liga BBVA just a year and a half after joining the Magpies. Cuenca only managed 14 appearences and one goal in that time and so moves to Spain for £2.8m. NUFC have also accepted four loan bids from Premier League sides for Haris Vuckic as Hutchinson explains Eriksens arrival means Vuckic and Abied will be loaned, it is not my intention to sell Ben Arfa.
