Newcastle United have sold 3 backup players upon the opening of the transfer window, this shows signs of growth by Newcastle who will look to add more strength in depth and obviously not all players are happy to play as backup. Ryan Taylor has completed a 500K move to Stoke City after he didnt rack up a single minute of first team action last season. Sylvain Marveaux has joined Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais after he made 7 first team appearences with 2 assists, a promising start to his NUFC career proved to be a false dawn with Sylvain struggling to challenge the first team. And finally, the man who made the most appearences from these three, French winger Gabriel Obertan has signed for Everton for £5m. Gabriel started 14 games last season and appeared as a sub in an extra 11 games, he scored 2 goals and provided 7 assists. Many are anticipating a fairly vital transfer window for Newcastle.

Really enjoying the story so far mate leep up the good work with the TOON hopefully we'll see this happen sometime soon!!!!

Newcastle United captain Fabricio Colocinni has moved to AC Milan in a deal which Sky Sports News believes is worth around £7m. The Toon captain has moved after captaining his side to a first Barclays Premier League title, he is excited by the move and told us that he was only gonna move once he'd led the club to glory, he wanted to leave on a high and he's done that. Obviously Tyler Hutchinson would rather of kept him but he is wise in the transfer market and he will undoubtedly find a younger, perhaps better, player to fill his boots.

View attachment 232231Newcastle United confirmed on the 1st July 2012 that they had signed 22 year old Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo from Atletico Madrid on a free transfer as his contract ran out. The stopper refused to sign a new contract with the Madrid-based side after he wanted to seal a move to the Premier League and the current Premier League Champions can offer him that, as well as Champions League football in the upcoming season. Newcastle are also understood to have had bids accepted for Hoffenheim's Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dinamo's Sime Vrsjaklo whilst they retain a strong interest in long-term target Wilfried Zaha and Gabon international Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

Tyler Hutchinson is still overviewing a growth at Newcastle and will remove any players who he considers dead wood and will replace them with players who have their best playing days ahead of them. Shola Ameobi returned from his loan at Crystal Palace, where he scored 7 goals, and 4 days later signed for Premier League side Birmingham for £1m. Young goalkeeper Fraser Forster has also headed for the St James' Park exit after he completed a £4m after returning from his loan at Celtic, Sergio Asenjo is evidently his replacement.

Newcastle United have confirmed that they have today completed their second signing of the season as Icelandic playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson joins from Bundesliga side Hoffenhiem for £14m. Gylfi spent last season on loan at Premier League side Swansea and played every minute of their season, scoring 12 goals and providing 8, many pundits place Swansea's survival around this man. The Welsh club had first option of the midfielder but they were outpriced out of any move, this allowed the Magpies to pounce. Sigurdsson has signed a 4-year-deal and will wear the no. 42 shirt for Newcastle. This news comes on the same day that Newcastle announced that they have exercised the option to extend Adel Taarabt's contract and this will now see him at the club until 2017 after impressing fans, pundits and Hutchinson alike after his controversial £3.5m move from QPR in January after refusing to play for the Hoops since November.

Sky Sports News understands that Newcastle have now completed the signings of Ghana internationals Sulley Muntari and Samuel Inkoom. 27-year-old Muntari arrives on a bosman transfer after AC Milan decided not to extend his deal at the San Siro, the central midfielder has penned an initial 1 year deal with the option to add a further two years. Also, fellow Ghanian Samuel Inkoom arrives at St James' Park in a deal worth £7m and see's the 23 year old right back sign a 5-year-contract. Inkoom is considered the defensive replacement for Colocinni, Inkoom being a right back insists that the centre-back duo of Steven Taylor and Jores Okore will go head to head in filling Fabricio's boots at the back with first-teamer Jan Vertonghen.
Newcastle have also confirmed that wantaway striker Xisco is in the process of completing a season-long loan deal to Crystal Palace as he runs the final year of his contract down.

Toon Snap Up Another YoungsterView attachment 232567
Tyler Hutchinson has once again showed that he has placed importance on securing future talent for Newcastle by confirming that the Magpies have spent £1.6m on bringing highly-rated Italian 19-year old Marco Verratti to Tyneside. Marco can play as a central midfielder or 'in the hole' and has been touted by Hutchinson as "a future world-beater". Verratti has a dozen caps for the Italy under-21's already and had been a starter for his for his former team Pescera before signing for Newcastle. To ensure that Verratti gets a feel for English football, Hutchinson has sent him straight out on loan to Crystal Palace where he will get first team action, learn the language and gain a priceless understanding of English football.

Pre-Season Results
View attachment 232575A decent pre-season in which we picked up the results against the big teams when it mattered for the first team. But, like last year, the youngsters fielded against 'lesser teams' failed to deliver and thats why such emphasis and money is going into getting good quality young players.

The Magpies well and truly bashed the door down for the full 90 mins and the 1 shot that Blackpool had they netted at the end of the first half much to the shock of everyone in Wembley. It wasnt till the 78th minute when Newcastle finally found a way in with the ever reliable no.9 Papiss Cisse breaking free and powering home. Newcastle then found the decisive goal with a Davide Santon cross meeting a free Junior Hoilett at the back post to head home, and thats how it finished.

Magpies get off to winning ways

View attachment 232585Papiss picks up where he left off last time outView attachment 232584Newcastle got the new Premier League campaign underway at home to Fulham and, as expected, they started by collecting all 3 points. A game which saw new boys Gylfi Sigurdsson and Samuel Inkoom make the starting 11, it looked like Newcastle had freshened up and had a bit more about their game, if that is possible. Last season's goal Messiah, no.9 Papiss Demba Cisse opened his account for this term with a lovely finish from a Junior Hoilett through ball, it was then Icelandic new man Gylfi Sigursson who put the Toon two up with a acrobatic left foot finish from inside the box. The game was then put to bed after Demba Ba scrambled to get the ball over the line but it eventually came off Fulham's Chris Baird who was awarded and own goal.

great to see the second season off gd deals and good start lets see what you can do in champions league hopefully first season first win in it maybe........ treble on cards hopefully gd luck buddy

Newcastle rise up to gain victory at Villa Park

View attachment 232633Hatem Ben Arfa and Demba Ba with comeback goalsView attachment 232634
Newcastle United went to Aston Villa looking for revenge from where they recieved their first defeat of last season. The first 45 mins was a very frustating affair for Newcastle as they constantly opened up Villa but couldnt capitalise, Gylfi Sigurdsson namely had his share of chances and he grew more frustrated with every chance. So at the break Hutchinson decided to hawl Gylfi off and bring Taarabt on, this was the Toons second sub of the game as Cisse came off injured and he was replaced with Ben Arfa who played on the left, pushing Ba up front. However, despite a bright start, Newcastle fell behind after Mark Noble found space and hammered home. This kicked Newcastle into action and a Davide Santon cross from the left found Ben Arfa's left boot 10 minutes later as he struck home to equalise. Newcastle then got the winner shortly after, with a world-class run down the right by Samuel Inkoom who then stung the ball across goal to find Demba Ba waiting to slot it in.

And very bad news for Newcastle as medical tests show that Papiss Cisse will be sidelined for at least 2 months. This is devastating for manager Tyler Hutchinson who may be inclined to delve into the transfer market for one more time in search of a striker.

Newcastle United have acted quickly to replace the injured no.9 Papiss Cisse by announcing that they have completed the signing of 23-year-old Gabon international striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Pierre has signed a 5 year deal with the North East giants in a transfer that Sky Sports News believes to be valued at £8m from AS Seint Etienne in Ligue 1. Aubameyang had an impressive season for the French side last term making 32 apperances and scoring 17 goals, taking into account he was playing in a poor side that got relegated despite his goal tally. He will take the number 39 shirt for the Toon and Tyler Hutchinson has described him as a rare talent. "Pierre will develop into a player of real Premier League class with Newcastle, we look to see him tutored by Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse in his time here. He can play a big big role but, like I ask with any signing from abroad, dont expect world class things from the first kick. He needs to settle and we will help him do that." Hutchinson has already said that this would be the last deal of the summer for the Magpies and its a transfer that takes the amount Newcastle have spent this summer to £30.5m in comparison to last summers £5.5m spent.
