Avatar was a good film, well expensive though, £11 :S. I also thought it went on for a bit to long, it felt like it went on for ages.

Just been to see Sherlock Holmes and i loveeed it! :D  I've never read anything about Sherlock Holmes before, so i have nothing to compare it to, but even so it was pretty amazing and funny, i laughed quite a lot! :)

Robert Downy Jr was surprisingly good and Jude Law ..i had reservations about him, but he was good also!

I think the only bad thing about the film for me was the length of it ..2 hours and 14 mins is a long time to be sitting down in one position i fidget quite a lot!

8/10 for me! :)

I watched 'The Damned United' today on DVD, interesting film as I don't know much about football of that era, It does however show how important Peter Taylor was to him

Just realised I've watched quite a lot of films over the past month or two so I thought I'd break it down for y'all.

Awesome
District 9 - Watched this when Kris came too visit, so maybe that's why I like it so much.
The Game - Just kept twisting and turning right until the end. Really entertaining stuff.
Hackers - Angelina Jolie's best film by a mile.
Home Alone - If you don't think this film is awesome then you hate Christmas.
The King of Kong - Nice documentary (sort of thing) about people who played classic Arcade Games such as Donkey Kong.
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - Just really great fun throughout. Bill Murray is great.
The Shawshank Redemption - One of the best films of all time, no need to explain this one.

Pretty good
Amelie - Pretty enjoyable, not sure if it deserves it's place in the IMDB top #250 though.
Clerks - I'm not even supposed to be here today!
The Departed - Good... but not Infernal Affairs good.
Dogma - Watched this bad boy with Kris too.
Hard Candy - Watched this one last night, didn't know too much about it but it's worth a watch for anyone who enjoys watching someone get castrated.
The Jacket - Similar too The Butterfly Effect in that you need to suspend all your logic in order to enjoy it.
Memento - Definitely not as good after you've seen it more than once but still interesting enough.
Mulholland Dr. - If you've seen Twin Peaks then you know what to expect from Lynch. Great film, if a little confusing.
The Royal Tenenbaums - Another great Wes Anderson film.
Twelve Monkeys - I'd never actually watched all of this before but I'm glad I did make it too the end this time.
Where the Wild Things Are -

Meh
Airplane - Probably just a little out dated now but I didn't find it that funny.
Broken Flowers - Could of been a bit better, Bill Murray was great in it though.
Extract - Mike Judge's latest film so had high hopes. Sadly no where near as good as Office Space
Gran Torino - Really don't understand why everyone likes this so much. When the best thing about a film is how much Clint sighs/groans you know it's gotta be bad.
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back - Maybe I'm just maturing but this just isn't nearly as funny as Dogma or Clerks. J&S are much better in smaller doses.
Planet Terror - Mindless
This Is It - Even for a Michael Jackson fanboy this might be a little dull. His shows looked like they were going too be pretty immense though.
Zoolander - Has it's moments.

Terrible
Bruno - Don't even think I laughed once.
Fanboys - Yawn.
Paranormal Activity - Thought I'd watch this nice and loud while sat in the dark on my own at about 2AM hoping for some scares. Sadly nothing at all happened for the entire 90 minutes. One of the biggest scary moments actually had me chuckling.

Nice post, rarity nowadays. Big fan of Home Alone series until they lose McAuley. Shawshank without doubt top 5 film of all time, keep meaning to see District 9.

The Jacket & Memento, both enjoyable films but think you have to be paying full attention to both as if you miss a part you will lose the plot? Not watched either in a long time.

Disagree about Gran Torino, thought it was a decent film. Not talking Shawshank good, obviously, but still a decent watch - wouldn't rush out to buy it on DVD though.

Bruno, agree. Garbage.

Got a few DVDs for Christmas;

Hangover - watched in cinema so not seen for a fair few months. Good enjoyable comedy.
Pineapple Express - decent, nothing to rave about but few laughs. Silly comedy.
Frost Nixon - still a good watch second time round. Love Sheen.

Sorry lee mate i have to disagree with you on a few, gran torino was excellent, for a clint eastwood film it had a sad ending and it had a storyline thats realistic, bruno was ok, i laughed at some parts, especially when he called binladen a dirty wizardXD, ill do the same layout as you lee :)

Awesome

Batman Begins- RUUUUBISSSSSHHHHH

Batman Begins was as good as if not better than the Dark Knight. It's a quality film.

Agree with Inside Man & Green Mile (though there are better films). Also agree with LOTR, but disagree with Jackass...it was good but not awesome. Taking of Pelham 123 was ok.

I thought Bruno was awful, compared to Borat,,worst film I've seen in a while has gotta be I am Legend with Will Smith,it's one of them films where your waiting for something to happen and then it finishes

Watched Yes Man the other week and started watching The Sopranos.

Watched This is it last night.

Although the film (documentary) itself wasn't fantastic...it was what it was said to be.

It made it out that the shows were going to be absolutely fantastic, some of the effects were brilliant. Also showed that Jackson was in reasonably good form.

Ive watched half of it so far but its weird, as a film its really dull but seeing what the show was gunan be like is unreal, it looked like it would have been awesome

Watched Frost/Nixon today and really enjoyed it. Very interesting story. 7/10

Also watched Battle Royale last night...cheesy and brutal 6/10

A very good but underrated film is a film called Frailty staring Bill Paxton. For those who haven't seen,Its the story of a single father who wakes his 2 sons up one night telling them he's been visited by a vision of God who has given him a list of evil people who need to die.A good watch, full of twists. 9\10

sorry JP that sounds to confusing and deep for me, i watched 24 redemption last night, that show is amazing,, 7/10
also i watched crank 2:
very cheesy and just full of action 8/10
and finally i got to watch land of the dead, worst film ive ever seen, doesnt deserve a rating, absolute ****

I don't know why I'm posting this but I stayed up all night last night and the Terminator was on (BBC 3 I think, not sure)
Anyway this was the first time I watched the movie from start to finish and, while I love "Ahhnold" with his accent, the storyline was a bit :S so 6/10

i hear there is a film coming out this year with simon pegg and nick frost? i think its called paul or somthing like that should be a laugh i really enjoyed shaun of the dead and hot fuzz

Yeh it also has Seth Rogen and Bill Hader in (Knocked Up, Superbad, Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express etc).

Probably *****.....more looking forward to Pegg and Frost in TinTin :D

Gregor you are spot on about This is it, it took some watching but the show would have been amazing.

I watched Star Trek a few nights ago. I enjoyed it. I wanted to watch a good actiony film to try out the new 'home cinema system' I'd connected up. I was surprised that I enjoyed it so much. Obviously it had a lot of references to the original Star Treks, many of which went straight over my head, and was a bit corny but it was still a good film.

7/10
