Anyone seen 30 days of night? Just watched it. Vampires are a quite good, crappy ending though. Also had a lot of "potential jumpy moments" that never payed off.
5/10 due to the ending
I watched it quite recently too, considering all the fapping people did over it I was expecting at least one big laugh. A few half decent laughs but there's no chance of me ever wanting too watch this film ever again.

The film is end of the world type film, but the film never explains how the world got into that state. (which during the film you are more interested in that than the relationship between farther and son) which I think was the aim of the film.
So basically everything has been destroyed apart from humans by some unacknowledged doomsday event.
.
The little kid in the book is 6, how ever this actor looms about 11, however he acts 6, the most pathetic winging boy I have seen in a film.
He was ment to born into this world already in the state it is (been like that at least 8 years according to the film) so you think the kid would not be such baby as he does not no anything else. However he still manages to be truamatized by everything, you would think he would be over after years of it.
also there are pointless flashbacks leading up to the mother wandering off to die alone in the cold because she cant cope, hmmmm
Other things hinder the film like **** poor survival choices, leaving a bomb shelter full of food because the farther heard footsteps above, only one way in the shelter, they were well hidden with a gun. Why leave.
Finally they manage to put in a Disney style ending were the kid finds a family, with a dog lol
People who think this film is good must have been watching a different film.
Thats just the tip of the ice berg of whats bad about this film, John Hillcoat is an ******* because he actually let this go out to public viewing, as he got no shame.
Its like showing a room full of people your *****, only for people to see its shockingly small and disfigured, if you new your ***** was like that you would never show it.
strange analogy but you get my point

If anyone is planning to see 'The Wolfman' when it is released, please could they offer their opinion on it here without spoilers? Unless I do so first, of course.
I find myself intrigued by the trailers, but it could be one of those films that you just regret paying the already-reduced student fees to go and watch within 5 minutes of sitting down.
Not seen much of his work, the only thing that comes to mind is his small role in 'The Green Mile' where I thought he played his role well, but to be honest, the film as a whole was excellent.
OK,it maybe is dated now but at the time in 1975 it was epic.Nothing like it had really been done before, and English actor Robert Shaw's performance as Quint was a masterclass.
Watched 'Independence Day' last night on channel 4, I've got to say, its easy to understand why Will Smith is the most influential actor on the planet.
