Southampton/Leicter/Wigan/QPR.

I've been struggling to find a good challenge for some time now, and I'm bored of always starting at S.L. Benfica (my favorite club). So, I've been Searching for some clubs to start again, I've narrowed the search to these 4:
- Napoli
- Arsenal
- Atlético Madrid
- Dortmund

I thought of Dortmund due to the media prediction (5), as well as Napoli for the same reason. Atlético Madrid is already top 3 material in Spain and Arsenal has a very good team, as well as some cash to invest.
So, if anyone has picked one of these clubs, could you help me by stating how difficult it is to manage any of them? I'm looking for something challenging.
Cheers :)

I'd suggest trying to make Leeds United relevant again. They went from the semi-finals of the CL in 2001 to falling to League One in 2007. They're currently in the nPower Championship

I've managed all 4 of these :D

I found managing Dortmund very easy and probably the easiest of the 4 clubs you highlighted they should be predicted top 3 easily. young squad with plenty of potential and they are the defending champions, they are on the up. A lot of other big german teams (Schalke, Wolfsburg) are awful so its a fight between you and Bayern really, if you get the tactis right. I've always Dortmund come up with good regens too. Kagawa always wants to leave and he is good, but he can be replaced so its not too big of an issue.

Atletico have a pretty poor squad considering thier media prediction, it should be 4th really. Falcao is obviously world class, but there are too many average squad players and not enough superstars. Dont really have great finances either but are moving to a new stadium with 70,000 seats. Need a new GK if you cant keep Courtois, a lot of areas need investment.

Napoli have good history obviously have the big 3 players, and regularly turned a monthly profit in the save I did with them so finance wasnt an issue. Bit of a job holding on to Cavani though, but if you can you can build your sqaud around Cavani, Lavezzi and Hamsik. They have a few decent CBs as well. Should be champions league material and with the right players could over take the Milan clubs and Juventus. I'd say this was my favourite save out of the 4, they have the most ground to gain in terms of trophies, repuatation and stuff.

Arsenal was a fairly easy game aswell. Van Persie is world class, Song, Vermalen, Sagna, Wilshere are all more than capable of winning a title. The sqaud is huge, so many youngsters are out on loan that wont ever really get into the 1st team so you can sell them all off to raise money, not that arsenal need the money. They have the biggest transfer budget of the 4 clubs, the best finances, best facilities, and biggest stadium (I think). They are also prone to a take over maybe 5 seasons in. Again arsenal are well known for thier excellent youth players and produce good regens. The challenge here is to take them all the way and no longer be the 'nearly men' of the EPL...which frankly isnt very hard with thier budget.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion :) On my way to Napoli now, hopefully it will be fun.
Cheers :)

Personally, I like to start with Droylsden. Their nickname is the Bloods and, unless you're a Crip, that's pretty cool.

No problems! Good luck with it, let me know how you get on! Im managing in Italy at the minute too, love it!

Country/Continent: Europe, preferably Western Europe but it doesn't have to be
Tier: lower/lowest league (are there other countries besides England in europe that have more than 2 leagues?)
Financial state: No debts, healthy, maybe quite rich but not Monaco rich
Media Prediction: Mid/lower (10-relegation zone) tier

Well I only played with world class clubs as FM12 was my first Football Manager experience, but after 6 seasons its fair to say that I know the game by now, so I want more challenge and I guess that might be lower league management.

Basically I would like to be able to have a chance of promotion to the first league within 6 or so seasons. Also if you know a club in the LLM that was created quite recently (like in the last decade) then that might be interesting to me.

italy has 4 tiers, and I know san marino is a fun game, with the potenteial to reach serie A in straight promotions, but it can take longer as serie B can be hard to get out of. if you get things right in your first seson then you shouldn't need much strengthening to go straight through serie c1 as there isn't much of a quality jump there.

possibly not exactly fitting your description but lausanne who are favourites for the drop from the swiss super league can be a fun save. due to the league being light a team first season, you are fighting to avoid last place which is a relegation playoff in your first season.

it might be good to take a challenge league team as i found that a fun league when i played it, albeit on CM2006. anyway it still looks fun and i'd recommend either vaduz (being from liechtenstein you are stuck to eternal europa league though) or possibly yverdon but i think they dropped to the third tier which is unplayable.

Country/Continent: England/spain/germany/italy
Tier: if england 1-2 others top
Financial state: stabele-secure
Media Prediction: england- promotion from second tier/avoid relegation from 1st tier. others europa quals
