Just finished my first 6 league games; and so far these are my stats:

Top Scorer: Christian Benitez - 7 in 6 Games
Top Assists: Miralem Sulemanji - 3 in 7 Games
Most MoM: Christian Benitez 3 in 6 games
Highest Rated: Christian Benitez 7.97 (6 Games)

Best Result: Man Utd 0 - 2 FM-Base (Premier League) (Special Mention: Arsenal 1 - 2 FM-Base (Premier League))
Worst Result: Northampton 3 - 0 FM-Base (Friendly)

Highest Transfer Fee Paid: Hugo Rodallega - £9.0m
Highest Earner: Christian Benitez - £82k p/w
Lowest Earner: Koke - £5.75k p/w


Tips:

Spoiler

Oswaldo Sanchez is a great, cheap keeper at around £900k. He's got good experience and can speak English aswell.
Jose Goncalves is a good, young(ish) CB you can get on a Free at the start of the season, is apparently injury prone thoug (although I havent had a problem yet)
Christian Benitez = Goal Machine as an Advanced Forward (Attack) he's ripping it up for me so far.

My highest rated ***. Mans are: Terry McDermott and Tony Coton. McDermott is the better (IMO) but Coton is a highly rated Coach (5* GK, 4* Fitness, Tactics, Ball Control and Shooting) [Disclaimer: I don't know if it will change on other games, double check]

All the Staff I picked up are at least 4* in one area:

Colin Cooper: 4* Tactics and Defending
Tosh Farrell: 4* Shooting and Attacking
Massimo Bonini: 4* Defending and Strength/Aerobic
Mark Chamberlain: 4* Tactics and Ball Control
Jim Blyth: 4.5* GK Coach
Andy Renshaw: 4.5* Fit Coach

Unfortunatly the coaches do lose bit when doubled up (which you'll have to do) but none of mine fell below a 3* rating

Just waiting on Thiago Neves to sign but these are the players I have so far. Spent £36M and I'm about to play my first game.

Finished the season in 6th . Though i did rage spend more than 50mil, i just couldnt resist :'(, (think i spent around 55mil in the end.)

December Update:

Hit a major run of bad form after a very promising start to the season. 2 wins in my last 10 games sees me drop to 5th in the table. In Jan I have Darryl Flahavan (Back Up GK £0) and Robbie Blake (Back Up FWD £120k) arriving.

Reputation's not 10000 on mine it's 5000.

Going through a bad patch after a good start too. Haven't scored in a few games. Santa Cruz has been a flop. Injured 3 times, played 5 games so far out of about 16.

Beat Arsenal in the League Cup. Drew with Man United and Liverpool too.

Started this tonight, managed to balls it up by not looking at player contracts properly, gave 3 people match highest earner clauses, including Rivaldo,who at the prime age of 38 is now earning a princely 68k a week. **** sake.

Well I just got relegated with FM-Base. And sacked.

Got the Spurs job now who finished 4th and won the Europa League. Happy days. I'll try the challenge again when I get bored.
