Loser's Claim Narrow Victory

In what was an extremely nervy affair, Lippo's Loser's have hung on for a narrow victory over Matt's Maestro's in their opening group A match.
Goal machine, Mario Gomez, gave the Loser's the lead in just the 16th minute after the Maestro's had perhaps got the better of the opening exchanges.
Just 2 minutes Later the Loser's were awarded a penalty & Sequiera stepped up to take the spot kick. Never again as his shot was hit straight at the keeper & bounced out.
Despite the miss the Loser's went on to dominate both possession & chances eventually getting their second on the half hour mark to ease their managers nerves.
Just 6 minutes later though, Marcus Rojo headed in from a corner to hand the Maestro's a life line heading into the break. 2-1.
The second half was a tale of 2 styles as the Loser's took control of possession, while the Maestro's played on the counter & looked very dangerous doing it.
In the 58th they drew level through Harry Kane & the nerves really kicked in!
Surely not! I was 2-0 up, could have been 3 if that idiot had buried that penalty! God **** it!
Eventually though we got our 3rd through substitute Wayne Rooney & I decided it was time to shut up shop.
10 breathless minutes later & we'd held on, despite having to withstand a late onslaught from a desperate Maestro's attack throwing everything at us!
Thanks to Matt for yet another enjoyable game. This one was an absolute heart stopper for both of us but it was still played in very good spirits with plenty of laughs & groans on the side. Good game mate.
