Hey guys, just letting you know that these next few days might be a lull as we wait for Taskers to return from vacation. So in the meantime, I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions of what to fix for next time, whether you even plan to participate next time, and what you like about this competition so far. Thanks so much guys, all of these feedback really helps me as I'm already forming things up for the next competition.

Any feedback? sorry to bump, but been working out all day how the next edition would work, and would love some feedback on this one so far :)

I think it has run very well so far. Will probably have to wait until its all done to look back & find ways to improve. ATM, I don't see a lot that needs to change...

Really? Could you see yourself competing next time?

If the mood strikes me I will, just depends what else I have going on. Its something you need to commit too fully so wouldn't do so now but I see no reason, as far as how it has run, not too.

Why? What would you change?

The main thing would be to implement a qualification system (before the draft, of course ;) ) too add more competitiveness and allow for anybody to enter. Other than that, I've been looking at ways in which to improve the draft, but I think we have a very good thing going right now overall with the banter, previews, and set up of the tournament. Just want to smooth out some areas (like twitch streams, live draws, etc.) and make it a fixture on the site, that's the plan. Hopefully you will do it next edition as we'd lose a true great ;).

Sounds like a plan & quite frankly, flattery will get you a long way :P

I'm an old timer so don't go in for Twitch & **** but whatever floats your boat. Qualifying is a good idea & would add another layer of interest, assuming of course that there are enough people interested, which I don't think will be an issue.

All in all, sounding good. The draft actually ran a lot smoother then I expected it too, despite my frustration when it stalled...

I'm in the same boat as Lippo here; not much needs to change. Small tweaks if you think it can be improved but don't change things for the sake of change.

The current format is very popular and it seems to be working well so keep it going :)

The qualification play offs is a great idea to keep the 16-team group stage while still allowing more to compete in the early stages. Though I would say let people choose their own teams as certain teams suit certain style. I can't play with Real Madrid for example; the way I play football just doesn't suit them.

I think the automatic qualification for reaching the semi-finals is important to make people feel like their being rewarded for getting far. Being a finalist yet still having to do a qualifier to get into the groups feels like it's there just for upsets.

Yea it did run surprisingly well didn't it? Nevertheless, might look at something to make it even smoother..

Maybe I'll give a choice of the top teams that people can be :) and yea semi-finalists will definitely auto-qual

I'm with Brendn on that last point as well. I will most likely have to qualify so would appreciate being allowed to choose my own team. If people want to pick Bradford P.A. so be it, leave the call up to them. Its their tournament on the line after all :)

So you'd rather people just pick whatever team they want than be given a selection of the, say ten best teams and use whichever they want from those?

Yeah probably. I think most people that are fair dinkum would choose a competitive team in any case.

I was going to suggest that people could pick 1 of the 16 teams from this tournament to use in qualifying - as they should all be pretty equal in terms of ability, just different combinations of positions etc. Although as the next tournament will be on FM16, that would have a big impact.

So letting people choose would probably be the fairest way.

Yea I don't know custom teams aren't very fair for pure skill vs skill matches as some teams are better than others. But the idea that everyone can choose their own teams works I think because it allows for people to compete at their strongest.

In terms of improvement, I think you made some very clever moves in the draft, to speed it up. As long as the draft or games progress fairly regularily, I believe there is no reason to change too much. I've really enjoyed everything so far at least!
But if we find a way of making things even more efficient, then I guess that's not a bad idea.
