Untick Roam from position and hold up ball on both strikers
 
Just hit mid-season with Shakhtar Dontesk and so far it's been fantastic or me..

which version Collzy?
 
I was using v2, unticked roam from position and hold up ball on both strikers, depending on the opposition formation depends on what I do regarding the central midfields marking, 1 CAM = 1 man mark, 2/3 CAM's (4-2-3-1 Narrow) I put both CMs on man marking. Using crag's team talks as well which surprisingly are highly effective.
Also I recommend signing people suited to the tactic, create some filters (or use crags) based on what the key attributes are for that position + role, it really does help, as I was using this with Estudiantes and didn't have quite this good results, but still won a lot regardless.

I'll give it a go mate..i was using v2 but couldnt seem to get results, with the tweaks that you mentioned though il give it another go and see what the results are like ;)

where can i find crag teamtalking?

what adjustements would you make if you will play against a team with much better players tehn your team?

In the OP pal; and probably just switch to the hold out version - also in the OP but don't add the striker tweak and try that. The same CM adjustments apply though.

I would just use v2. I just use hold out from 65/min onwards.
 
V2 Standard - Crag Tweak I use from kick off till 60-70 mins. But if the opposition isn't playing 442 either put one or both of your MCs on Man marking. If the computer plays a diamond 4-4-2 just put one MC on specific man marking of their AMC it will absolutely dominate them. (i seriously **** Southampton on my save as they always play diamond 442)

V2 Holdout - for the end of game's don't forget about your Marking settings.
On top of this i use all my own training schedules for each individual player & use Cragswfc team-talks.


Player Filter File put it in "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2012\filters" then import in FM by doing the following "Manager Name>Search (or F5)>Filter>Manager Filter>Import (Select files) from there they should appear when you click on filter now.
 
Still continuing with Shakhtar - Knocked Bayern out in the First Knockout Round after a 3-2 win away from home and an epic 4-4 at home followed by a 8-1 win away to Metalist, it's just after the winter break so February time and Jordan Ayew is already on 60 goals.
 
I have changed this tactic to suit my team, got promoted with Sampdoria in the first seaonn, 105 points! I have made it quite different to be honest, having some really good results and performances.. going to see how it works in the Serie A vs teams like Inter, AC etc...

for this year I have dropped on striker to DM (and of course edited his positions to my Mascherano role) and the Cm's are playing my Carrick/Scholes roles with through balls set to often and high freedom as I have Poli and Tejera in the centre!

working well so far! well pre-season!

if you want this version let me know, its a lot quicker and more direct with many other little changes too!

2nd season, newly promoted Sampdoria team

It was a friendly match but a few of their players and mine as well were away on Int duty :) well pleased with this!

I wanted to see how (my version of this tactic) would work vs the best team in the league!

playing with the version that Raikan007 made, had problems with my goalkeepsers and backs, but still in the race for Europian league Final and for the second time the Titel, so not too bad at all :D

Season is ended, Winners of the Europa League and the Title in France again, the only thing is a verry good keeper, too much goals against me 54!, well next season maybe
