We didn’t quite manage an undefeated season, Wolfsburg saw to that. Nonetheless it’s been a great season.

We equalled Bayern’s points record and Wilson broke his own clean sheet record with 25 clean sheet out of 34 league games, outstanding stuff.

It’s never been in doubt really, we absolutely walked the league Wolfsburg (green) came second, 21 points behind us, RBL (pink) came third, 22 points behind us, and poor old Bayern (blue) had a terrible season finishing way down in 8

We made easy work of our cup games, taking them very seriously as I’m fed up of missing out on this competition. We make it all the way to the final where we played RBL.

This was an epic final, we went behind against the run of play and looked like we wouldn’t get back into it. Things looked even worse when Medina got sent off for a second yellow. But somehow we found two goals from Pla and Miranda (who found himself up front for the end of the game) to come back and win it.
Rettig finished the competition top scored with 10 goals despite missing the last quarter of the season with an injury. We also broke Bayern’s record for goals scored in the cup, scoring 27 goals this season.
Champions League

Another season of disappointment in Europe as we only made it to the Quarter finals, where we were knocked out by Real Madrid.

The second leg against Man City was probably the best game I saw my side play in my time as Dortmund manager. City didn’t get a sniff, and could barely get out of their half, not getting a shot on target. We couldn’t match those heights against Real as we really, really missed Rettig up front.

Winning the double this season makes me the most successful manager to manage in Germany. Another goal to cross off my checklist.

Despite a very successful season I have not been able to secure a new contract. I want a pay rise to E50k pw, which I think is more than fair given what I have achieved with this club. The club wont budge asking me to take a E10k pw pay cut. That may be my fault a little due to poor finances, which I am working on. Some good jobs should be coming up at the end of the season, I’ve been strongly linked with Chelsea and Arsenal, Barcelona might come up too (which would be my preference). We will have to wait and see if I stay or leave. When the Bundesliga prize money comes in the finances will be fine, perhaps the club will make me a reasonable offer then.
