We do have people who can play AMR/L, so either a 4-1-2-2-1 or a 4-2-3-1 could work if you are looking for width. These two seem pretty solid on FM in general as well.

i knw that, even i mostly play 4231 in my saves, but we have only 2 or 3 players who can play AMR/L so that would be tough!
I changed my tactic after reading a lot of the replies and I decided on 5-3-2 formation with wingbacks........
Here is the first match that I played with that formation....

I was pretty impressed with our ability to keep possession indeed, we didn't create a lot of CCCs but when we did, we took them...... Matt once again found the net and Lewie failed to do it for 3 or 4 matches now, I also replaced Lionheart as I was disappointed with his performance in the last game, all and all I was really happy with the formation..... also I tried AbdulKareem in ST position, and i have to say I was impressed with his physicality....
So I decided to use the same formation in our next match and guess what......

We absolutely thrashed them, especially Lewie who scored a brace after coming on and he also hit the post twice, but our defending was not upto the mark as their attackers always found a way behind our defence, also this is supposed to be a defensive formation, but I love how it's more attacking than defending, nonetheless I feel defending is also a really important aspect of the game so we should improve on that....

Two solid results there. Maybe drop one of the CMs back into DM for away games if it looks like the opposition are getting in behind quite often?
Looks like Max Gonzalez might thrive off the new WB role with a 9.0 rating in his first game. Shame my guys consistency is all over the shop - at least we're doing well collectively though!

I think I am useful when it comes to going forward but I do lack the concentration when it comes to the defensive side of my game, despite having the technical abilities. I would like you to reconsider my training program, I feel that I would benefit from being trained heavy as a Limited Full Back. This would prevent me from being as error prone and would help me earn a regular first team slot, ahead of Max Gonzalez, who seems to be having a blinder of a season so far.

So, after that cracking win we went on to play Watford...... here is what happened.....

As u can see we did lose the match, which was pretty equal in truth, Lewie scored an amazing goal with his left foot right into the top corner, from outside the box..... but we missed a lot of our chances, and they took theirs, I decided to remove the cover role from our CB and gave him Defend role and it apparently backfired, i might revert that in the next match......

We drew in the last minute thanx to Matt Smith, but in truth we should've won as we created more chances and Matt missed the most chances.... he had like 4 chances and only put away 1 of those, whereas our other ST lewie did not get any chance (poor old lewie:$) ....... Matt improve on ur finishing!! *angry*..... there was not much to analyze in this match.... apart from Matt missing.... but yeah I really like the new formation...
