Football Manager 14.2.0 Update

Just had my first crash of the game, wonder if its got anything to do with the new update, no doubt it has
 
The live league table doesn't work on the network game now.
 
Still winning games the same way as I did before, haven't really seen a specific difference; except from one thing that I do not know whether it's coincidence or patch effect: My players are getting injured one by one, and not just short injuries, but I'm talking about months.

I have 6 players now, 6 first team players above the age of 23 - all injured for at least 3 months, and none of em' are injury prone. One of them is Lewandowski.. This can't really be a coincidence?!
 
If I never conceded from set pieces I'd win every game. 4-2 loss to Leeds (2 free kicks, 2 corners). 3-2 loss to Arsenal (2 corners, 1 free kick)
 
Yeah metoo, got 3 injuries in 2 games, long term, players that pretty much never have been injured for me before.... :(
 
Someone tell me strikers are scoring more than before.
 
I had 3 tactics fully familiar befor the patch and now they have all dropped to about 75% , closing down is at 0 and marking is about 30%. I have not tweaked the tactics whatsoever. Im scared to play on as im 20-2-0 in the league. Anyone know how to fix this?
 
Aye same here also after the update my injuries have gone through the roof.

RE: the tactical familiarity; this is due to fixes to the calculations for the tactical training. With some old games switching tactics around may cause an initial drop due to the new way the tactics are calculated into training, but it should be fine and develop correctly after that. It was actually bugged before, but wasn't visible.

This won't affect all continued saves, and won't affect new saves created in 14.2.0 at all. Hope that lends some clarity.​

Like I posted in the bug thread, we fixed some issues with how the different tactical settings are tracked in the tactical training. Naturally this means that in old saves where the tactical settings were differentiated a bit differently, the familiarity can take an initial dip when you switch tactics around after the update.

This will not affect new games and in old saves the familiarity will be regained over time again.​


 
Since the update the players names text in the 2D view looks awful. Blurry and large. The visuals in general look worse.
 
I conceeded a lot more shots than usual, due to marking and closing down decreasing a lot, that may cause poor defending until tactics become fluid again. I suppose it will get improved with more training (not funny to be in the middle of the season). I agree that visuals in the ME are worse
 
It seems in my save that the low fluidity in closing down goes away when I untick the "Hassle Opponents" instruction. They must have revamped this one. We're gonna have to get used to its effects again...

Since the patch you can't even get a job, if you start as unemployed. Nobody will hire you.

At least not in the Italian league.

Alright yea so, in regard to tactical familiarity, I've noticed that:

I had hassle opponents ticked previously, but now with it ticked "closing down" is down to 0. You have to untick it and tick "use tighter marking" in order to get your "closing down" back to fluid. Somehow they just took the tactical familiarity of hassling opponents and switched it to player marking instead.
The same goes for the tempo. Previously i had "higher tempo" ticked and my tempo was at fluid but not anymore, unless you now tick to "much higher tempo" instead. Otherwise its only accomplished if you keep it how it was.
And again, same with passing style. I had "more direct passing" "pass into space" "work ball into box" and "play out of defense" all ticked and my "passing style" was at fluid but now with those marked it is only on accomplished. Unticking "more direct passing" puts it back to fluid.
Those are the only changes i noticed so far in regard to tactical familiarity or at least the ones i was able to figure out how to resolve.
So i hope this helps and its pretty much up to you if you prefer to stick with your old setting and get your tactical knowledge back up or adjusting the settings as i explained to get yours back to fluid. How inconvenient!

If they made significant changes to the match engine, compensate us for it by making sure the fluidity of our tactics doesn't randomly change after we install the tactic and can't defend nor score with it in the middle of the ******* season.

I'm sure I read somewhere that AIs will always have max fluidity. This is a ******* joke for us, we've got to struggle to get the ****** tactics right and then fluid in the first place, and then SI ******* ruin our hard work, which for many of us has consisted of hours of work for no gain, just because they can't be arsed putting something in the update to make sure the users are not unfairly punished.

Well, I've learnt my lesson. Only download updates when I've finished my season. **** you SI. **** you.
 
This update is frustrating...cant win a single game...everything is a draw...AI teams are playing like on a horse dopping ****...they are faster than every of your player....tackling is nearly 100% ....wtf is this? And I am playing lower league managment....where mistakes shod happen on AI teams...
 
I was in a record breaking season of clean sheets, 6 goals in 25 games, now the other teams score 2-3 goals per game. I suppose it will get better once fluidity in marking and closing down get to the previous level. On the other hand, through balls that cut through the opposition to the striker are finally effective. And I've scored headers from corners for the first time since I downloaded the game.

You do realised you have completely overreacted to something you read, that, is in fact completely wrong?

Do you even know why it changed?

Oh and it happens to the AI as well, it always has done. The AI never always has max fluidity.
