Football Manager 14.2.0 Update

Can someone confirm if strikers are scoring more now?
 
This is about just the worst patch since the release of Fm 2014, the lost player instructions is just a major bug that should have been taken out when the patch was released. Also the amount of own goals or major mistakes of your goalkeeper is just WTF..

In my opinion 14.1.4 was a quite decent patch and definetely an upgrade compared to 14.1.3 with the major fix of the corner bug and improved tackling of players.. But I really dont get why so soon after this patch 14.2.0 is already released...all tactics can again be changed and if you are midway a season you are screwed with the tactic familiarity

The defending in 14.1.4 was apocalyptic. Defenders just ran any which way and a long ball gave the opposition five or six chances a game. Anyway, any tactic might not work with the new ME, so complaining about familiarity is a moot point.
 
network games are SLOW as **** now, all players connected to my save cant continue ingame and its taking 40 mins to an hour to complete 1 game.
 
Oh dear. Can't get to grips with it. I play on the 2D classic pitch & the game now appears laggy & sticky. The same old problem occurs where the AI appear to score almost every shot / CCC they get, however my strikers seem reluctant on shooting at the goal rather to blast it at the keeper.
 
Congratulations, SI. The game's went backwards with the latest patch, but they'll never admit that, will they?
 
Have to admit, I feel this way too. It seems with every patch, there's only one certain way to play the game and one style to break down the AI. Not had much time to settle with a tactic with this years game. Seems as if as soon as I'm settled with a tactic, bang! There's another patch and I'm back to square one.

This game is like an old, broken down car. You fix one problem, then several others crop up.
 
This is getting ******* embarrassing. I`m Arsenal and since the new update i get a lot of injuries, now i have 7 players between 1 & 7 months, it is ******` unplayable.
 
Crikey my tactics have gone from good to bobbins today. My players now pass the ball to the opponent who pass it back to me, then maybe some bobbling round, then I pass it back to them, then they pass it back to me, some more bobbling, etc etc and then it usually ends in a clear cut and goal for them. My centre mids have passing 17+, my team cohesion has been great and now my team can barely string passes together. Do I even need to start on the strikers blasting it at the keeper/bar?

where does it tell us on the update about the fonts being changed

They actually posted that they changed the font, and the 2D high angle, but had done no other graphical work. But sure, assume people are looking for arguments instead of pointing out something that is correct.

That isn't a problem, that's tactically based. Just been over this with LiamOT and he is playing better now. You might just need to make an adjustment or two. Could you post up your approach, on the surface it sounds like you are being picked off on the counter?

No idea why they changed the font. Before they were crisp and clear, the aliasing on text is horrendous now.

I hated it at first, but now I'm totally ambivalent to it. Think it's growing on me. There was a reason, but I cant remember where the thread post is.
 
The injuries are easily fixed, and the familiarity will be regained. What do people think of the ME now? I'm thinking it's much better. The game overall leaves me cold though, as I feel the management is merely based on buying as good a team as possible and keeping them happy, as opposed to developing a team that can punch above its weight. Previous FMs I found to be puzzles that were fun to solve, but this one seems very much right/wrong moves being made. I don't feel my input matters for the most part unless I do something wrong.
 
In the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal, but it's like going from an iPad with retina display to an 800x600 resolution. Not sure I'll be able to get used to it :(

It's harder to punch above your weight, and rightly so. Back in the day you could get away with "poor" set ups too, simply because the AI was incapable of exploiting a weakness, now its better at it, and no only that, follows the trends of the games tactical changes (ie if the tops teams are all playing 4-2-3-1, you will start to see others either follow it and play 4-2-3-1, or choose formations that are good counters like the 4-1-2-2-1, basically do what we would do, but obviously stilll not as well as us, generally speaking). That doesn't mean its impossible to punch above your weight, you just have to work harder. But if you dont enjoy that, you dont enjoy it. Enjoyment is subjective, and I can understand if people dont want that kind of thing.

ME is better, think defending overall is pretty excellent, attacking play needs some more work, but still very good. Usually its the other way round, but I think its better for the game to be defensively solid, as that is much harder to get right.
