Can i ask you a question? I'm playing with my AFC Liverpool team and I got promoted in first season. I turned from amateur to semipro. Should I give all my players real contracts or should I keep them on amateur to save some money? Thanks

He never was amateur but my advice would be keep them on amateur until a club comes sniffing around and then snap them up onto a part-time deal (unless they're a brilliant youngster because you can't guarantee keeping them otherwise).

I made it! Was a good read for over an hour long. Really enjoyed it and will be following it further down. I decided to start over again myself with a lower team. Thought about Isle of Whight newport, to go same style with islanders but in the end decided to go one division higher with Merthyr town, which is a whelsh team playing in England, only non league team I think from wales

hey can you check out my story? Im starting in a Sunday League, the same challenge as you, I was inspired. :P

Doing really well. And what has Bogarde done wrong anyway?
lol nothing he just isn't all that good for this level. but i felt enough loyalty to keep hi onboard.

If they are your first 11 i'd contract them, but as alrsady pointed out i was never amateur.

I'll certainly give it a look. Im really happy people are taking this on.

One question, how the **** did you beat Man City 3-1 in a friendly?
It was not the first team i can assure you of that lol. 3-1 flattered us massivley make no mistake.

Given last seasons heroics i think the playoffs are a reasonable aim. Our friendlies went quite well again this season, we are slowly improving the quality of our opposition and thankfully are olding our own.

The first 20 games didn't go as planned.

Far to inconsistant and this left us well away from hwere we wanted to be.

We need to discover so.me form and quickly

After 30 games there is a vast improvement even though bad form does keep creeping in. Without Asante we would be in deep deep trouble!

We are now within touching distance of the playoffs. We have to play some of the teams abov e us shrtly so i hope to take points off them.

We also sold Ibrahim Addai for £15m

This money will be very handy. On top of the money we are getting from the Lunardi transfer also to Swanseas aswell.

Cracking results mate. Championship! Blimey. I've only just had my first promotion lol. Gone Semipro now though. Can't wait till you get Premierleague footy. What's the clubs reputation now like?

Our errant form seems to still be hanging around but other resuts have gone our way.

We managed to sneak into the play offs. I intend to stay there!

The less said about this the better!

We are actually fairly well know now. I'd be able to sign some good players if i was signing players!

Cool. That's quality. I'm actually at work ATM keeping up to date. That's commitment. Who's your best player now. Are your board ok after your takeover ?

With one game to go we are still in with a chance of automatic promotion!

We need to beat York and hoe teams above us do us a favour and lose!

We beat York but was it enough?

npowerChampionship_OverviewStages-8.png

No it wasn't. If we had beated Brighton a game earlier we would have made it. Regardless we have finished 3rd and are in the playoffs again.

Asante is my best player by miles. Without him we ould be looking at mid table again. It's amazing the difference a 30 goal a season man can make. The board are useless always refusing based on finances. Hopefully if we win the playoffs that will all change.

Have been following this story everyday and now so close to the premiership...good luck bud i hope you go through the play off's with victory.

one other thing how do you fly through the seasons as quickly as you do? i only manage to do a season a week if i'm lucky, think i need to upgrade my laptop.

Doing well. Also, the players potential is underated at first intake due to a bug in the game so you have to sign on currrent ability and your own eyes rather than potential. You also could try and sign some players back if possible. They would make a big difference.

I'm in Jersey regularly and I've visited Guernsey before. Great story mate. Must be a pain in the **** travelling for games though, haha.

Ive taken a lot of inspiration from your story for mine. Check it out if you get the time.

Im really hoping mine can go as well as yours, because you have done fantastic!
