Did you manage to sign any players you found in the world Ossis?

I did go back to the save last night to get as far as the friendlies. As for players I have so far got in a 19yo goalie and a DM/MC on loan from Sheffield Wednesday. I have had to go with who will come to the club and not many are willing too. Gosport has a low rep and having broken attendance record last season with 259. I can understand why lol

In regards to the takeover part... Usually nothing much happens, the person who takes over doesn't generally invest cash into team or give a transfer budget boost. Is just business as it was before with a new owner.

I have bought in about 11 players I need for all the positions and I have backups already..

Well,since my experience with a multi-role frankenstein tactic with the CF=20 was a little dissapointed,I change again to brokeback mountain, but now with awesome team gel. The start of the season is very nice...won spanish super cup both games to Barcelona and smashed Chelsea 7-0 at the uefa supercup.I will post some screenshots and show you Jheferson Vergara and Shadrach evolution.

I think original Frankenstein - or 2nd visit can benefit from CF=20 - but its true your team has to be super duper as well if you know what i mean -

Very happy with this two. Vergara is a starter on defence with Varane. Shadrach is a very good and multi-possition player,both 22 yo.

Very interesting - Vergara look like a very good find - Shadrach I find very exciting - How does his do in terms of shots and longshots - I'm just wondering because if this player will do good - their could be a change in what sort of player to get - I mean overall he's great very consistant looking - but his shot attributes are awesome and if he does well - scoring often - then finishing and longshot are more important than alot of other stats.

Exellent mate - I will say - Brokeback mountain is a good balanced tactic - Performs best with a top team - a great team that has the best players available - I'm very happy another person joins in on this challenge - so thanks for that - 4141 rock classic at this level will probably get you the best outcome possible and could actually be interesting to see how someone would go if using that tactic at the lower levels.

Buxton in Skrill Premier - media prediction 24

3 games played - 2 away games - 1 home game - drew 2 away and won 1 at home

Played vs relegated team and drew them away - the team gel is yet again horrible so have to wait till that becomes better - so lets hope this is a good indication.

I recommend either to use attacking movement or teamwork - but at your current state I would say attacking movement.

I'm currently not very happy with Brokeback mountain with poachers as a lower league tactic - its something that should be used when your players become better - I was lucky the 1st season because I got some really good players - now I can see its gonna be a struggle - just lost 3-0 at home - I can't accept that if I wanna do straight promotion year after year - so I have to do something and lucky for me I still have 10 days before the transfer market closes - so I will get 4 wingers that I don't pay wages to and then I will adapt 4141 rock classic - recreated with my corner - freekick and throwin settings - later on I might tweak the rock but for now that is what I wanna do and also what I believe is the best thing to do.

I am currently destroying 1st czech league with BBM. Have some very good regens in my team, and I am also able to come through CL group stage but my end is usually 1st knock out round. My team is still very young and is improving year by year. I am able to beat teams like Manchester United, Olympique Lyon or Olympique Marseille from time to time. I lost both games with Barca in 1st KO round. But only 0:1. I invested lot of money to training facilities and have a huge potential in my team.View attachment 264683

I don't know the economy in the Czech league but I reckon its about the same as in Belgium maybe a little lower - so I guess its just a matter of getting lots of Brazilian regents on the cheap and then keep going at it every season then suddenly you will have better and better economy and maybe a chance to win it.

Your team can't be to far behind the big ones - its looking really good.

So how much money do you get when you sell the players? - do you sell them for 200% if value is 3m pound do you sell player for 6m pound or do you try and get 20m pounds for the players?

The tactic is a very dominant tactic and that is what Barca real life do - dominate!! - that's the reason why I love it - the fun thing is the passing slider isn't all the way to the left as you might have thought it should be, but the play equals - one twos - short simple passes and that's what I want to see in a successful tactic.

Are you using the creative freedom 20 version? - your play will probably be better if you are not using it - you can download that version a few pages back.

Well Rock classic is downloadable a page back - with brokeback/gooaall262 corner and freekick settings - the only change other than that is the striker - I asked him to cut inside instead of run to the channels

Run to the channels is an outwards arrow in classic mode - basically it means moving horizontally I don't want that in a striker - how much it will affect the original I can't tell, but I think the striker will perform better.

1st game using Rock classic with my small tweaks 4-1 win away from home and dominant with **** players who gets easy low on condition - much worse than last season - stamina is really important at these low level teams - I hate it

I don't get impressed anymore to be honest - my mind are just thinking what can it all become - can I beat the record from last season? - Yea last season was kind of - I broke the game - cause obviously no Barca team will beat even an 8th division women team - so its a bit much - I hope you out their using Brokeback mountain certainly see atleast half of the success I see - A regent team should be able to kill it with this tactic

Ok, so actually Brokeback mountain failed to work for me also, it was doing going until then I hit a very bad streak.. I think it will work wonders with world class team not really meant for underdogs maybe.. so I will be using rock classic tactic and see how it's..

So sometimes I come across something really well written and informative - I see that as gold - valuable or invaluable information. In this post I will share with you a post written by fmbase member Craiglowerson1984 - Thanks for this great post mate.

For those who have read this before i appologise for the re-post from the fm13 forums, i just thort this might help some new fm14 players and new fm players in general who may not have read this in the fm13 forum. I believe that most if not all of the consepts i used in fm13 will also refer to fm14.


Ive just started the 2030/31 season in my Blyth season and Ross Barkley looks to be the last of the original players to retire at end of the last season. This is my longest save on any FM.

Through out my 19 seasons ive spent ?120mil but sold around ?100mil of players. I have a new 50k stadium, top training and youth academy. ?50mil in bank and a debt of ?210mil (stadium bill) Classed as Rich (no tycoon chairman), 2nd best team in England and 4th best team in overall.

Here is a few tips that helped me through the leagues. hope these help the less experienced lower league managers.

1. Assistant Manager-Needs good atributes in- Motivating, player ability + potential, less important is man management. ( Tactical Knowledge is only an important attribute if you like assistant to auto pick opposition intructions). Staff search with these abilities selected and try and sign best you can. Only offer 2 year contract and do this every season, this allows u to offer contract termination with minimal cost of paying their contracts off.

2. Build a good scouting team. As like assistant manager when in lower leagues check every pre-season for the best scouts around. Work permits are hard to come by in lower leagues so i would suggest only employing Europe based scouts.

3. Finances- Stay within wage budget. In the lower league i relied on free transfers, made all transfer budget available for wage budget. However since im now in Premier League once ive spent what i need to i then adjust budget and make all money available for wages. Doing this over the years i now have around £3mil for wages (only spending £1.2mil) and a transfer budget of around £25 mil but can adjust it and get around £75/100mil transfers.

4. Facilities- As you take a lower league team through the leagues more than likely your stadium wont have enough seats for the next leagues standard and you will be forced to upgrade stadium or at least add seats to standing only stands. With this in mind i never upgraded training or youth set up untill i was in the Prem. In 1st season in the Prem i had to ground share with Sunderland for 9 months while Croft Park was being developed ( i was getting a average attendance of 29k good help with cash injection). But when you do decided to upgrade facilities the board will upgrade in bigger steps, these steps are often a bit pricey but easy to manage with money you get from Premier League. It only took 3/4 seasons to achieve top facilities.

5. Transfer Policy- Personally in lower leagues i used the free transfer market, Sending my scouts on the look out for the best tallent on free's. I usually only pick players with the highest attributes, but in lower league i took more notice of my scouts. Signing players with the better star rating than atributes. this worked to my advantage more than i though it would. Another thing is dont be scared to sell your best players, in lower leagues make most of your best players and make as much money as you can from them.

6. Potential Stars- I noticed on some long saves most teams have a small 1st team squad and little or no reserve team. With Blyth i have a huge reserve team. I achieved this buy signing young free transfers, yes this does cost tad more than some people would like to pay in wages but massively helps in the long run. I look for agents offering young players. Scout them, look out for 2.5 star potential +, they may never develop into stars of your team However they will be good enough for teams below you. Ive sold them on making alot of money.

7. Golden Oldies- I signed alot of players in their twighlite, Joe Hart/Ramsey/Walcott/Milner/Valencia to name just a few. Yes they are old BUT they can still do a job. 1 year deals and cheap wages. Milner played untill he was 37 and was collecting around 1.5k a week. but turning in 7+ perfromances.

8. Tactics- Try and be consitant with this, Ive had same tactic from Blue Square North, and winning champs league with it now. Be simple with it too, a play a 4-4-2 with AML+AMR. Player roles are standard ( and all players playing best position and role) So if u buy say a new CB change only CB role to the prefered role of new CB.

9. Dont give up!- A relegation or failure to get promoted isnt always a bad thing. I got promotion straight from conference to the championship. But with Stadium upgrades i had no money to spend and very little money to sign free transfers. I got relegated straight back to League 1. But the £2mil i got from been in Championship helped me build a squad good enough to win league 1 and stay in championship. I then got stuck in Championship for 5 seasons. losing in playoffs 4 times. But when eventually got promotion my squad was good enough for 13 place in Premier league. Took my 9 seasons to reach Premier League but when i got there my club were ready for it.


Sorry for the long read ( I appologise for any spelling mistakes lol), but i hope this helps anyone wanting to take on a lower league challenge.

Its based on counter attacking and withdrawn midfielders that should pass longer direct balls to the strikers - the poachers are brokeback mountain poachers and have alot of space to work with - I will try it for my Buxton team since I can't get anything working - losing alot of games at the moment - so need a new strategy
