Great Teams 1999/2011.

I was just thinking the other day of doing a super league in FM 2011 of great club teams from 1999-2011, you know the 03/04 arsenal team and 99/00 man u team, but the i thought i'd wait till the new 2012 comes out but get started on the gathering of information now.

Do you all think this would be a good idea and if so do you have any suggestions?

Any help would be most welcome as i want to do kits, badges, stadiums, rivalries, staff, board, and the most obvious is full squads. And I will be releasing a database when it is all finished

So far I have thought of doing these teams:

Arsenal 2003/2004 Invincibles,
Manchester United 1999/2000 Treble,
Real Madrid 2001/2002 Galacticos,
Bayer Leverkusen 2001/2002 UCL Finalist,
FC Porto 2003/2004 UCL Winners Deco,
Celtic 2002/2003 UEFA Cup Finalist Larsson, Lennon, Suton, Hartson
CSKA Moscow 2004/2005 UEFA Cup Winners Vagner Love, Danny Carvalho,
Chelsea 2004/2005 Prem Winners Drogba, Lampard, Robben,
Lazio 1999/2000 Cup Winners Cup Team,
Juventus 2000/2001 or 1999/2000 Inzaghi, Del Piero, Conti, Zidane, Davids ect.
AS Roma 2000/2001 Totti, Montella, Delvechio,
Barcelona 2000/2001 with Rivaldo, Overmars, 13 year old Messi and Guardiola,
Inter Milan 2000/2001 Ronaldo, Vieri, Pirlo and Seedorff
Lyon 2003/2004 Govou, Essien, Molouda
Deportivo 2000/2001 Valeron, Tristan, Makkaay

Again any help and suggestions would be welcome.
 
AC Milan team of 2004/2005 was good and consistent. Will be added
 
Milan 2003-06 or 07 was class..

Bayern Munich 1999, 2000, 2001 were class.

Valencia around 2000-01 I think..
 
Rangers 2002/03 season, probably the best Rangers squad in the last 10 years, won the domestic treble, and what i believe was their 50th league trophy. Had some class players... Lovenkrands, Arveladze, De Boer, Mols, Ferguson, Amoruso, Ricksen, Klos etc. Alex McLeish was the manager
 
I take it people like the idea then? Um is that the shearer, robert, team of 2002 at least i think it was.
I was gonna do a two tier maybe three with cup competitions probs 20 teams per league maybe even four tiers if i can roun up enough teams. with Rangers, Valencia, Milan, Newcastle, Munich it goes to 20 teams only 20-60 to go. hehe
 
I'd say the 03 toon squad was a great manager rather than a great squad. We had a few great players - Shearer..... well we had Shearer, everyone else was just in form/ in their prime (dyer, robert, solano, bellamy). Then again if you're doing a great team per team that's probably the closest we've had since the Keegan days (first keegan days ofc)
 
Liverpool 00/01 Treble Worthington Cup, Uefa Cup, FA Cup and later the European Super Cup
Liverpool 04/05 The Greatest Champions League Final in history!!
Liverpool 08/09 We Lost 2 games in the prem league all season and we beat R.Madrid 1-0 away and 4-0 homewe were pretty much unbeatable :)
 
how about Deportivo when the won the La liga, like near 2000.

and the galactiocs Real madrid plus Peps barca.

Only one version of the teams. Depor team a year later than the la liga win (tristan, valeron), real and barca and newcastle are included. which of the 3 liverpool teams?
 
Personally i think 08/09 was the strongest but if your looking for success in trophies then 00/01. but the istanbul team was fantastic too

I agree with your first statement.

But I believe you are wrong by saying the Istanbul team were fantastic, in fact, they're weren't. They had players like Smicer, Traore and Biscan and they didn't do too well in the league too. True, they achieved a lot and did fantastically, but I don't think they should be added.

I would add Liverpool 2000/2001 instead of the CSKA Moscow team and maybe add more recent teams like Manchester United 2007/2008 maybe?

Agreed with the liverpool statement, out of the three i think 08/09 shades it, only reason for cska was that they had such a talented squad at the time. none however reached their full potential. i think 99/00 united squad was far superior to any since with the exception of the cl winning team of 08. but i would still choose 99/00

will do t three tier with euro in tier one, south america tier two and a mix in tier three. will put it to a vote which teams are in which.
it will be 20 teams in tier 1 20 teams in tier two and 12 in tier three (6 a piece)
am considering using teams from the 90's aswell.
I think that would be better because teams like braga where not on the same level as arsenal's 03/04 team.

So like in tier one would be teams like;

Arsenal 03/04, Barca, Man U 98/99,

Tier two would be;

Intercontinental, Boca Juniors, Corinthians, Santos, Pachua, Chivas

Tier three would be other great teams that where no included so 30 from Europe 30 from South America

when was it Leeds made it to the semi-finals in the Champions League... they had, Alan Smith, Bowyer,Robbie Keane, Mark Viduka,Lucas Radebe, Ian Harte,Woodgate, Carr, ...who else was it? Rio Ferdinand right?
 
really all i'd need is a big logo pack of all teams for the kits. sponsors too but rest i can do. thanks guys.
 
We werent good domestically in 04/05 but when you look at games that season vs Olympiakos, Chelsea, Juventus, AC Milan they was fantastic. But you are right I think the other teams were better.
