so if the three tier idea is kl then the european based sides are as follows;
tier one;
arsenal, liverpool, man u, chelsea, barcelona, real madrid, lazio, inter, as roma, juve, ac milan, deportivo, porto, bayer leverkusen, munich.

tier three;
leeds, braga, boavista, cska, galatasaray.

americas teams;

tier two;
boca, corinthians, pachua.

not very educated on football from across the Atlantic so any more suggestions. but thanks for the ones that have been added. i will get on with kits now

was trying to limit it to teams from 98/99 season till now but can include rangers 1993 i think someone requested a rangers team.

i think barca'2011 with cesc and alexis is more dangerous than 2000.
maybe you should add both of them in your data.

this years barca hasn't won anything yet. Yes out of the three barca teams mentioned the 00/01 team was the least successful but it was a great team.

Liverpool maybe when they won the League Cup FA Cup and UEFA cup (as it was then) 2001. Houllier as manager was near start of his reign.

Owen at his peak, McCallister pulling the strings, Gerrard just emerging, Hyypia, Henchoz and Babbel beasts at the back and even a somewaht clincal Emile Heskey. Had 'good' players at the time like Ziege, Smicer, Berger, Fowler, Redknapp, Hamann, Carragher and Murphy.
