gotta be brian , as a derby fan i herd he was great and i hope to follow in his footsteps on fm09 , i am working on now , check me sig out

As a derby fan it has to be clough, only he could be loved in equal measure by forest and derby fans - thats why he is the best ever.

However Ottavio Bianchi maybe worth a mention - he won Napoli's fist scuddetto and a UEFA Cup

Not even a mention for Cruyff? Undoubtedly more of a contribution to the game as a player, but was still quite a manager.

Wheres alf ramsey???
surely he deserves a mention seeing as though he led england to our only world cup win??

Where is Sir Bobby Robson (R.I.P) What he did with various clubs and england was amazing he is easily in the top ten of greatest managers, but for the poll went for clough

As much as we Englishmen love Sir Alf and Sir Bobby, they are not recognised worldwide as the greatest managers of all time.

I can ready.. but really there is no one greater than SAF. No one comes close.

your still not the best in the world..... and manchester united were winning trophies before fergie took over and were still a huge club...
trying to make fergusons acheivement seem little is a hopeless task.

we were 2nd best in the world last year and a **** of a lot better than arsenal and maybe this season we'll take back the title of best team in the world. also even if were not the best in the world right now ferguson has improved us dramatically. when he took over we were 19th place out of 22 in division one. we may have still had a big reputation but we hadn't won a league title in 20 + years and the only trophies we won were a few fa cups under atkinson.

it is pointless trying to compare fergie with managers from the 70/80s since the PL has made it so much more easier for the big clubs to retain success. There is less competition between clubs now since the top 4 clubs get way more money than any of the other clubs.

Sir Bobby Robson was recognised worldwide he won trophies at porto barcelona psv and ipswich i count four different countries right there more than any of the suggestions in the poll. To say he wasnt know worldwide is incorrect he was known all round the world for his achievements with clubs and with England

I never said he wasn't known worldwide,i said he wasn't recognised worldwide as one of the greatest managers of all time.

I suggest you put Robson's record up against the managers listed. Was Robson a good manager? YES off course he was.Was he one of the greatest of all time?NO,im sorry not in my opinion or on paper either,If you think he was good for you,but i started the poll and i don't.

Not to include Sir Bobby is scandalous? Wake up mate,he's not even in the same league as the managers mentioned never mind on par.

how do you figure that? he took barca to 3 trophies not good? he took an unfancied ipswich to win the fa cup and then the uefa cup and never finished outside the top 3 in the league for 5 years running ot good? won the league and cup with porto not good? he won league and cups with psv not good? if not for poor penalty takers would have taken u to world cup final not good? was the best thing to happen to newcastle took them to the champions league twice and finished 3rd and 4th in the most competitve league in the world not good? get your facts before you say he wasnt on 'par' with these managers

No mate you get your facts right and compare their records.Where talking about Managers who have won world cups,European cups,6 and 7 League championships and cup doubles. Not someone who won the Portuguese League and Uefa cup with Ipswich.

ok whatever mate he took unfashionable team to glory twice then managed around the continent and had success guess that doesn't count but your right your poll your opnions so your choice.

Look i agree Robson was a very good manager, but i wanted a poll of 10 managers,i wanted to get a varied selection from around the world.I have already put 2 English managers in,Paisley and Clough.I also left out Sir Alf Ramsey and Herbert Chapman who had great records too so it was a really tough choice and no matter who you choose someone is going to be upset at who is left out.
