Xavi, Iniesta, Abidal transfer listed
In an unexpected turn of events three of Barcelona's best players have been transfer listed. Head coach Antoni Gaudí said he wants to build a new Barca and the listed players were too old to fit into his new plans. Reports say that Ibrahimovic might be soon following them out as Gaudí wants to start building a squad fro the future and at almost 30 years of age Ibra just doesnt fit in. Though he will most likely stay till the end of the season. His good form means that the club will try and get more cash for him in the summer as the market might be saturated right now.

Real Madrid C.F. 3 - 1 F.C. Barcelona (La Liga)

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo completed the scoring for R. Madrid with a powerful effort which blasted against the inside of the post before hitting the back of the net on 58 minutes.

The departing trio's last game for us and it couldnt have been a more appropriate fixture. A chance for them to go out on a high. But a disappointing result for us. Even though Madrid have the greater possession, we matched in almost every other department. Shots, corners, etc. It was our lower pass completion ratio and wastefulness in front in front of goal that cost us the match.

Xavi and Iniesta were sold off as I wanted to rebuild the Barca squad. Had planned to sell off most old players at the end of the 1st season but thought this would make it a little more challenging. The new players will need time to adjust to the team and playing around that would make it that little bit more difficult. Also as Gourcuff is ineligible for the Champions league, it will mean that we will lack a creative midfielder in the centre of the field for those games.

Both teams served up a game to remember as F.C. Barcelona came out on top in this 4 - 3 goal-fest.

One pundit commented that this match should be taped and shown to any doubters of the beautiful game.

Striker Gonzalo Higuaín gave R. Madrid the lead with a screamer from the edge of the area in the 21st minute. Striker Karim Benzema doubled R. Madrid's lead with a well timed close range finish on 30 minutes.
Attacking full back Daniel Alves was left red-faced in the 35th minute as he managed to put the ball into his own net. Cultured striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled one back for Barcelona after 42 minutes with a thumping header.
Things turned sour for R. Madrid when full-back Álvaro Arbeloa earned himself an early bath for persistent fouling on 52 minutes. Midfielder Aaron Ramsey pulled one back for Barcelona after 73 minutes with a curling shot from the edge of the area.

End Of Season Review

nice work m8 im following

cheers mate.

SEASON REVIEW

Ligga BBVA :
Expectation: 1st
Final Position: 2nd
Finishing 2nd even after gathering 93 points just goes to show how well R. Madrid played this time. Though Athletico were leading for quite some time towards the second half of the season, a couple of losses towards the end meant that we entered the last month in 2nd, 3 points behind Madrid. And thats how it ended.
A good result none the less as the selling of players in the winter break meant that the players needed to learn to play with each other and this might have turned a few results against us.

UEFA Champions League
Expectaion: Finals
Final Position: Winners
An amazing run to the fianls during the later stages of the competition as Gourcuff was ieligible and so we had to do without him. The victory over Inter was memorable as we had to play without a few regular first team players.
The final was one the best matches I have ever played in FM. An amazing comeback to beat Madrid 4-3 at the Bernabaue.

UEFA Super Cup
Expectation: Winner
Final Position: Winner

Copade Su Majestad El Rey Don Juan Carlos I
Expectaion: Not considered important by the board but i had thouhgt of this as my best chance to win a trophy this year.
Final Position: Semi-Finals

KEY PLAYERS

My inability to get the best out of Messi till late in the season meant that Ibrahimovic had to take up the main goal scoring duties. And he scored them in abundance. 65 goals in 61 appearances, winning the top scorer award in every competition along the way. Also broke the record for most goals in a season.
Henry did not get many first team opportunities due to Jovetic's arrival but came in as a regular substitute and did well enough.
Ramsey also performed really well and stepped up to replace Gourcuff in European ties with really good support from Toure.
Pique, Chygrynskyi and Puyol were solid in defense with Pique often ending the game as our best player on the field. Ansaldi also had a good season and more than took up Abidal's role.

All in all a decent year. Selling off key players made it all that more fun to get to the results we did. With more key players to be sold during the transfer window, next season will be an even greater challenge.

World Cup 2010

A small Update on the 2010 World Cup. and guess who won it?

IVORY COAST!!!
I was shocked when i saw this. They beat England, United States, Greece, Russia, Brazil and France en route to the trophy. They actually pipped England to qualify along with Argentina from their group.

Ivory Coast oO) LOL... Nice story, I havnt done a Barca game this FM but I'll definately be doing one in the future. Good luck for the next season, Ill be following!

2010-2011 Pre-Season Update: Transfers

2010-2011 Pre-Season Update

With a decent 1st season the board gave me a budget of £100M. That gave me quite a lot of freedom to rebuild the squad. Key first team players were sold off and young talent brought in to replace them. The only notable players left were Messi, Ibrahimovic and Valdes. Though Ibra is now 28 years old, his amazing goal scoring form from last season was the best i have seen in any of my FM games and i just couldn't bring myself to sell him. So he stays for another year. I plan to try and bring in Akifeev. As Moscow were not letting go off him cheaply I decided to keep Valdes for another year and replace him next season. Henry was offered for cut throat prices but no one was interested in him, so i guess i have to try again in the winter.
A lot of young players and a couple of good regens were brought in to fill the spots.

TRANSFERS

IN

Marco Verratti: Completed his pre arranged transfer.
Moritz Slunecko: The regen defender that I bought last season.
Ahmed Aboul Ela: A regen central midfielder. Highly rated by my scouts.
Lars Bender: Long term replacement for Toure and Kieta. Can play in central midfield as well.
Sebastian Corchia: A right back. Might fill up Alves' place in the long run. If he doesnt turn out that well then will atleast act as a good backup.
Jeremy Helan: A left back. Same expectations as with Corchia.
Jack Rodwell: His versatility will provide more options. Will retrain him as a DM.Will play in Toure's place in the first team.
Domenico Criscito: Will play in LB allowing Ansaldi to shift to his preffered RB position. Can also play as CB so provides options.
Havard Nordveit: I decided to take a gamble on Havard as I have seem him turn out both really good or really bad. Very young but will partner Pique in the defence. Will rotate him with Rodwell.

OUT:

Seydou Keita: To PSG £11.25M
Carles Puyol: To OM £17.75M
Pedro: To Napoli £2.5M
Yaya Toure: To Arsenal £26.5M
Dmytro Chgrynskyi: To At. Madrid £19.75M
Martin Caceres: To Juventus £9.5M
Daniel Alves: To A.C. Milan £22M
Aliaksandr Hleb: To Villareal £10M

With so many new inexperienced players in the squad, this season will be much harder than last year. The players will have to step up and perform at standards set by their predecessors.

Season Expectations:
The board expects me to Win the Liga BBVA and reach the finals of the Champions League. I dont think that will be easy so will settle for challenging for the league title and try to get as far as I can in europe. Will try my hardest to win all the other trophies up for grabs.

Great read and well done on last season. Its interesting to see the changes your making. Tbh I think you will struggle this season but good luck !

ya i am struggling this season. But I didnt really have very expectations for this season as the team had been completely revamped and most of the players are too young. Have played till november and has been really tough.

Better late than never for Benfica and the fans were clearly delighted with Keirrison's impact.

A horrendous start to the season. We were sitting at 15th position at the end of the month.
Nordveit's inexperience has lead to an unstable defence and the midfield is not working well. Looking into changing the tactics a bit.
