The quality gap between Portuguese 1st and 2nd division clubs is ****** massive! The biggest i've seen in this save by far. We need 4-5 real quality signings to compete. Porto, Benfica and Sporting are all amazingly strong. Porto also won the champions league a few seasons ago and are always at the business end of the tournament.

Another gem from New Zealand, His jumping does seem a little low for someone of 6'8 and quite why he has a high penalty stat is beyond me. Regardless though he is a brilliant keeper and he will be our new number 1.

I've had real trouble signing any Portuguese players. But as long as the ones I do get look like that i'm quite happy! A defender of amazing quality rivaling anything any of the big 3 have, The only stat that could be better is his composure but I don't see it being a big problem.

15 games in 6 wins, 6 draws and 3 losses. Not a bad start, no one has managed to out class us and I hope the new signings settling in will improve us in the second half of the season.

This leaves us 6th and well away from relegation, I'm not even thinking of relegation now. We are aiming for Europe. Porto already have a commanding lead and they will take some catching.

the 3 big ones are the eternal candidates in Portugal to win the league and had never been relegated in their entire history.

IRL the budget of Porto or Benfica covers all the others budgets combined... like in Spain, but the gap of quality is bigger.

About Portuguese players, they are very hard to find, and i recommend you to look at Sporting junior squad or B team, since they ae the ones who give about 70 % of the +players to the NTs, IRL of course. In the game, Porto as the better ones, on my saves :D

A new competition for us this season, One I could of done without given how thin my squad is. But we're in it so we'll do our best.

We have been rather Jekyl and Hyde during the second half of the season. We have been soundly beaten several times, yet at other times we have handed out our own beatings, Finishing the season with a 5 game win streak.

4th in our first season is amazing, Although it has not esaped me that Porto are only 8 points of a maximum tally of 90 and 33 points ahead of us no matter how you slice it. Portugal only gets 3 champions league spots, but we automatically qualify for the Europa league group stage.

Here are our squad stats for the season, Our two star performers of last season couldn't reproduce the form at a higher level. Le is also leaving on a Bosman, My main concern in pre season is a left winger and a striker plus some quality back up which we lacked this season.

The gap in quality is friggin massive! We are a few world class players off challenging just yet, But we need champions league money to get those players...European football should at least help with the players we can sign and i'll be sure to raid Sporting!

I needed a striker and did I ever find one! The most surprising thing about Bakari is that the Ivory Coast have not capped him at any level. He will lead our attack next season and I fully expect a world class striker in 2 seasons or less.

Sorry about this but somehow I screenshoted 2 games to early and didn't notice! We drew and won the 2 games which left us 3rd not 2nd as shwn here. Regardless of my mistake we are flying, We are mixing it with the big 3 and progress has certainly been made.

We beat Celtic at Celtic Park andthey can feel very agreived at that as we did not deserve to beat them. They managed point off us at home from a boring 0-0.

I just read 70 pages of someone else playing FM only took a few hours......I have no life :( haha, Great story how do you keep your self interested/motivated to keep playing have you got a few games going?? I mean 2066 is mental ha the farthest I have made it to is 2020 and I get bored.

I couldn't write 70 pages if I had a life!

I set myself goals, Like ths one is the hexagon challenge with a few extra rules thrown in. I have something in mind for carrying on after I complete the hexagon challenge.

I went to 2082 on FM12 so a ways to go yet ;)

We drew Schalke in the last 16, Sadly two 1-0 losses sent us crashing out. We should of won at least one of those games. Schalke took the chances that fell to them and we didn't.

The league was all that was left for us, We finished 4th and 33 points off the pace last season and we wanted an improvement. We have done very well, taking 3 points off Sporting and Porto during the last 15 games.

I thought you would like Portugals success ;)

Benfica are going down next season mark my words! In fairness we keep drawing with them after having the better of the game.

I'm really enjoying it 3rd place is in my sights for next season, i'm not foolish enough to believe Porto, Sproting and Benfica wont improve themselves though.
