Typical, great draw against India and then this :S
 
Cricket team has been spending too long with the football team, it seems.
 
Sensational Kevin O'Brien, has to go down as one of the best if not the best ODI innings of all time.

England's bowling and fielding was horrendous, but I'm not even disappointed, feel graced to have seen such a knock, and so glad for Ireland.

Let's hope the kid sticks it out with Ireland and doesn't pull an Eoin Morgan, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm pretty sure he will, considering Ireland's status as a 50 Overs National Team is under threat thanks to the ICC's plans to reduce the number of teams at World Cups.

A 3 wicket win with 5 balls remaining isn't 'well beaten'


But that was absolutely disgraceful, another ***** bowling and fielding display, we probably would have had a better chance with 11 batsman playing.

Congrats to Ireland though, you wouldn't have guessed who the test playing nation was out there.

If they do, I sincerely hope they give Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya the boot first.

Found myself cheering on the Green by the end.
 
Another massively convincing reason as to why England and the 50 over game dont go together, struggling against teams like Netherlands and Ireland is basically an embarrassment, considering the level we are supposed to play at!
 
This should show the ICC that ireland should be a full member and be aloud to play test matches
 
We have beaten 3 test playing nations in the last two world cups only got destroyed once and considering our best players get taken by England

Also Matt i had one of my feelings during the ashes that Ireland would beat England and I was right again.
ask some of the IRC cricket crew if you need proof
 
worse ive saw englands bowling attack for some time at the minute.. and its not just based on this game... netherlands, india and ireland havent been anywhere near standard.. batting seems to be looking good

You were also 178 all out against the lowest ranked test side, so you can make a case for either side. It would be interesting to see how Ireland would do in test matches though.

how are we going to improve beyond this if we are not test playing and therefore not able to go fulltime and then lose all our talents

Not on one game,they have beaten pakistan and bangladesh in the last world cup and played well against bangladesh this time too and the thing is you have to give them chance to progress in cricket or cricket will always be a 10 team sport. Bangladesh struggled at the start but now they are an average team now and i think lot of irish players play county cricket so they have decent cricketers.

What are Test games? the top 10 teams or something only play them?

Ye fair enough mate, i only said on one game, because people seem to have jumped the gun now, and i havent heard this opinion before...

if ireland can perform like this then there is no reason why they shouldnt be a full international side!
