What a game! Loads of chances, end to end and proof we can match the big boys in Europe, could we have won if we had O'Neill up front?

Hewelt, Nolan, *****, Desmond, Field, McEneff, Reilly (Cawley 71), Wilson, Kelly, Morgan (McGrath 71), O'Neill

A bit disappointed with this result, sure they're the higher seed but I felt Molde were very much beatable

HAWKINS SIGNS NEW DEAL

View attachment 108634
With just 2 days remaining on his contract, Matthew Hawkins appeared to be leaving St Patrick's, with potential suitors lining up for the young Welshman

Fortunately for St Patrick's fans, the ex-Loughgall boss has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal worth €1,700 per week

The Welshman, who in his first full season at St Patrick's won the Airtricity Premier League, FAI Ford Cup, Irish President's Cup, Leinster Senior Cup, EA Sports Cup AND took them into the Europa League group stages, is said to be delighted to have extended his stay in Ireland

And to make matters even better for St Patrick's, stars Kevin Morgan and Tony O'Neill have also extended their contracts with the club, with O'Neill's new deal warning off would-be buyers Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who have both had bids rejected for the Northern Irish international

TRIO JOIN ST PAT'S

View attachment 108621
St Patrick's have opened the transfer window with a bang, by bringing in three players on the opening day!

The Irish champions have decided not to rest on their laurels and have brought in a trio of reinforcements

The first player signed was 20 year old defensive midfielder Cameron Morrison, who's joined St Patrick's from Cliftonville for €24,000

Bizarrely, St Patrick's are the 20 year old's FOURTH club, having appeared for Dergview, Carrick Rangers and Cliftonville, making over 100 first team appearances

Morrison, who has been capped at Under-20 level, has already lifted two pieces of silverware in his career and is sure to add to that at St Patrick's
View attachment 108619

The second signing was the most expensive as St Patrick's bring in Callum Camps from Heart of Midlothian for €94,000

Camps, who has 6 caps for Northern Ireland, can play in a variety of positions across midfield and further up the field and is thought to be the ideal utility man for Hawkins' side

The 24 year old never really shone at Hearts after making a big money move from Rochdale for €800,000 back in 2017, making only 7 league appearances across 2 and a half seasons with the Edinburgh club
View attachment 108617

The final signing is also from the Scottish Premiership as right back Gordon Beattie signs from Celtic for €74,000

The 19 year old Glaswegian, who has 16 Wales Under 21 caps, made only 2 appearances for his boyhood club, instead spending time out on loan at Livingston for whom he made 19 league appearances

He will be hoping to add to that in Ireland

Well done so far! Callum Camps is a fantastic signing, always does well in FM

BROWN IN SHOCK DEADLINE DAY MOVE

View attachment 108577
With just over half an hour left on deadline day Irish champions St Patrick's Athletic have sealed the capture of Scottish "Hard Man in Chief" Scott Brown for a fee of just €43,000

Brown, who divides opinion amongst many football fans, spent 13 seasons at Parkhead after signing from Hibernian for €6.5m in 2007 and racked up 326 league appearances for the perennial Scottish champions, lifting the Scottish Premiership NINE times in 12 and a half years with the Glaswegian club

Brown also made 108 league appearances for Hibernian, as well as making 50 appearances for the Scottish national team
View attachment 108571

Brown has lifted a sensational 17 trophies in his career, as well as making appearances in the Champions League and captaining his country and it is this experience that Matthew Hawkins hopes to capitalise on as he improves his squad ahead of their upcoming Champions League campaign
View attachment 108568

St Patrick's also snuck through the signing of Northern Ireland Under-21 international Matthew Shevlin, who's joined the club from Ballymena United for €26,000

The 21 year old striker had spent his entire career with Ballymena, racking up 65 goals in 158 league appearances

IRISH PRESIDENT'S CUP
St Patrick's Athletic 3-1 Dundalk

View attachment 108506
Hewelt, Brown, *****, Desmond, Field, McEneff, Cawley, Wilson, Camps, Morgan, O'Neill

A return to the narrow 4-3-2-1 and another trophy as stars Kevin Morgan and Tony O'Neill fire us to victory, an injury to Liam Kelly meant that Callum Camps took up the Enganche role in the "Holy Trinity", could this be a permanent change?

Tony O'Neill looks a great player although he needs more consistency with his penalties! He has missed a lot of them!

Great story so far!

Great story so far!
Cheers mate

Its weird when O'Neill misses penalties seeing as he has 13 Penalties and 15 Composure, but he has scored 77 goals in 77 games since joining us so I'll let him off the hook for that ;)

United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been sniffing around so I've had to give him a new deal every ~ 3 months to ward them off

Loving the story. Always like saves in Ireland especially N.I. Has O'Neill improved much? Any chance of a SS?
